How to share files between Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 program technical preview 10 Quad-starting Windows

Tips for sharing files between multiple versions of windows program without having to reinstall the programs? Any responses appreciated.

There is no way to share programs/apps between OS when multi boot, IE; you can not install MS Office on W10TP and expect to use on other operating systems, you can share the data in the program, each operating system will require that individual programs / applications are installed on each operating system.

Hey guys, I want to share files between windows 7 and windows XP. I don't want to put the password on my Windows 7 or Windows XP account. I am going on my Windows XP perfectly shared files from Windows 7, but I am not able to go on my files of windows 7, the cause of my XP he asks user name and password. I enter the user name and it does not accept it if I make a password for my windows 7 and enter as the user name... I don't know what to do guys any help?

Windows 7 only WILL NOT allow you to share files without a password, it's all just a common sense safety requirement.  It of a very bad practice to run your Windows installations with a null value, a password, give your facility a valid password.

The simplest around your problem is to create an account with the same names and passwords on each machine and so typed the password when the connection is too a problem allow AutoLogon on the machines.

  • How can I share files between Windows 7 Pro and a Mac with os x?

I have Windows 7 Professional and my colleague had a Mac with os x installed. We are physically in the same room, sharing a wifi connection. How to share files between two computers? That each of them should do on his computer?

If you display links, please check beforehand that the procedure for the mac is here. I found in the internet or other of the procedures for older systems Win or network only between Win 7 PCs.

Of course, you can do it easily. In fact, the implementation of sharing on Win7 last month was almost as easy as it is on OS X.  ;-) I find that the snow leopard has the same bugginess of show Windows machines only randomly in the sharing of the Finder section, as it did in Leopard, however. I usually connect to Windows machines by opening a window of Finder and using go > connect to server > smb://Windows-computer-name instead. In the Win7 box, I have the network to the desktop icon (you can get this to customize > change icon).

On OS X, make sure you have checked in the file sharing system preferences > sharing. Click the Options button, and then select "share files and folders using SMB." Add the shared directories as you wish.

You must create accounts/passwords user on the Mac and Windows 7. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop in Win7 (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this.

Start > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

You can find options to logon automatically for OS X in system preferences > accounts.

On Win7, go to control panel > all items in Control Panel > network and sharing Center. Click on "change the advanced sharing settings. You do not want to use Homegroup.

Discovery of plug in the network

Configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, Configuration File and Printer Sharing ON will take care of that for these machines, and if you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus/security with its own firewall component program, then you're fine.  With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Refer to the safety of any third party program or the user forums for how to correctly configure its firewall. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

OS X Firewall is done in System Preferences > Security. Click the lock to make changes, and then click the Advanced button to ensure that SMB sharing is allowed. If you set up in the share pod, it will be.

On Win7, create shares as desired. I usually just share the Public, users desktop folder and all hard drives of additional data in the system. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • I need to share files between windows xp and Windows 7

I am unable to share files between Windows XP Home Edition and Windows 7 Ultimate edition

I have a wireless router and my two computers are connected on it.

Please give me detailed guidelines on how to share files between them.

Here are the steps of general network troubleshooting. Just cannot apply to your situation, so just take the bits that are. It may seem daunting, but if you follow the steps in the links and suggestions below calmly and consistently, you will have no difficulty to implement your sharing.

Problems sharing files between computers on a network are usually caused by 1) a misconfigured firewall or a firewall neglected (including a dynamic firewall in a virtual private network); or (2) inadvertently run two firewalls such as the firewall of Windows and a third-party firewall. and/or (3) do not have accounts to the same users and passwords on all computers in the workgroup. (4) tries to create actions where the operating system does not.

In Windows 7, go to control panel > everything in Control Panel > network and sharing Center. Click on "change the advanced sharing settings. You don't want to use the residential group unless you have all Windows 7 machines. If you do and you want to use the homegroup, see Windows 7 Help & Support. Otherwise, in sharing advanced:

Discovery of plug in the network
Open the files and printers sharing
Turn on the sharing section Public folder sharing
    Plug the password protected sharing

    A. configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, running on Windows 7 sharing files and printer as above will take care of this for you. If you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus/security with its own firewall component program, then you're fine.

    (B) to facilitate the Organization, put all computers in the same workgroup. This is done from the System applet in Control Panel, the computer name tab.

    C. create the counterpart of the user accounts and passwords on all machines. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this:

Start > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

    D. Si one or more of the computers on your network are XP Pro or Media Center, turn off Simple file sharing (Folder Options > view tab).

    E. create share as you wish. In Windows 7 I usually share the Desktop of the user and the Public directory.

    F. you have the job of file sharing (and tested by exchanging a file between machines), if you want to share a printer connected locally to one of your computers, share of this machine. Then go to the printer mftr Web site. and download the latest drivers for the correct system. Install them on the target machines. The printer must be collected during the installation procedure. If this isn't the case, install the drivers and then use the Add Printer Wizard. In some cases, printers must be installed as local printers, but it is outside this response. • How to share files between elements Organizer and Premiere Elements?

    Hello

Since many years and versions of first and Photoshop Elements, I enjoyed the use of video in elements Organizer, projects when a new project was created under the Premiere Elements. I currently used this function up to the Version 11 of first and Photoshop Elements.

Since my last update to version 14 of these two software, this feature doesn't seem to be present more. Indeed when I create a new project from Premiere Elements and fill it with video files:

    • either by dragging from the organizing elements in Premiere Elements
    • or importing video, Premiere Elements files.

no new category of Album (usually called by the title of the video project) appears in the left column of the elements Organizer. Help files to the extent where have not been useful, even distinguish it: FBUS.html https://helpx.adobe.com/elements-organizer/using/using-elements-organizer-premiere-element

Does anyone have a clue on the procedure of enabeling once again this important feature under the first items 14 and 14 elements Photoshop?

I currently running Windows 7Pro, 64B. During the installation of Photoshop elements 14, I converted version of catalogs items Organizer version 14, using the automatic procedure 11. Neither first nor Photoshop elements 11 are more active on this computer. Suspecting a "bug" in update of organizing elements version 11 to 14, I made as a result of unsuccessful attempts:

    • I created a new project video with first items 14 and added video files using the dragging organizing elements 14 first 14 elements
    • I created a new project video with first items 14 and added video files using the software import feature.

In both cases, it has failed to create a new folder in my albums, my video projects with the name of the newly created in Premiere Elements project.

I hope to receive assistance on this issue which is very important when choosing a video footage of a very large number of video files to the creation of a new video.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

How to share files and look at these different systems?

    1 person needs an answer

You can share files between all of these systems. It is difficult for me to what you wrote if you want to share files with Windows 7 in OS X machine, but I have included this information in case you do. Because Vista is installed in training Camp, I have only included Win7 OS X sharing files and not Vista-OS X sharing files since you can't use both at the same time.

    On Windows

Excellent, comprehensive, but easy to understand article on sharing files/printer under Vista. Contains information about sharing printers and files, and the folders:

Problems sharing files between computers on a network are usually caused by 1) a misconfigured firewall or a firewall neglected (including a dynamic firewall in a virtual private network); or (2) inadvertently run two firewalls such as the firewall of Windows and a third-party firewall. and/or (3) do not have accounts to the same users and passwords on all computers in the workgroup. A. configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, it means which allows file sharing / print on the Exceptions tab normally run the XP Network Setup Wizard will take care of this for these machines. The only "witch hunt", it will turn on the XPSP2 Windows Firewall. If you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus/security with its own firewall component program, then you're fine.  With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. I use the version of windows 7 Home Basic and I am aware that it is impossible to create a homegroup, but can join one... I wanted to share files over the local network. What is the way to do it. I've seen many threads explaining how to share files on homegroup, but I need that really... I want it for HOME BASIC... HOPE would help me as soon as possible!

    Original title: Mr. OMKAR

    Hello Omkar,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

Do you have Windows 7 Home Basic installed on all the computers connected to the LAN?

Basically, as you rightly mentioned, "Windows 7 Home Basic can join only but cannot create a homegroup." He needs a higher edition of Windows 7 Home Premium, Ultimate or professional to create a homegroup, and then Windows 7 Home Basic Edition can participate. Then, I suggest you try file sharing help Sharing wizard as shown below.

    1. Open Windows Explorer on your taskbar.
    2. In the new window, click organize , and then click folder and search options.
    3. Click the view tab.
    4. The option use the wizard sharing (recommended)check box.
    5. Click OK.

Now, follow the steps below to open the shared folder Wizard.

    • Press Windows key + R to open the run box.
    • Type shrpubw.exe and press ENTER.
    • Click Next on the home page.
    • You can also name (or rename) your PC. You should probably leave your computer
name as it is, because this change here could cause conflicts with your computer
name as defined by the system. You will need to set up the folder to share
by clicking on the Browse button.
    • Click Next.
    • Name your share, and then click Next (you can also click change to change offline settings).
    • Follow the instructions on the screen to configure and customize the permissions and click Finish.
    • Click Finish to complete the installation.

You should now have a folder shared, ready to access your other users.

Hope this information is useful. If the problem still persists, please post back for further assistance, we will be happy to help you.
