How to shrink the tablespace?

Hi all

Oracle10g and 11g
Windows 2003 Server

I have many large tables in my scheme of HR who are candidates for the backup and deletion.
If I drop this large tables, how can I recover the space on the side of the BONE? He resides in my c:\ which is almost 100% complete :(

Is there is an "alter tablespace to shrink database'?

Thank you.

    Hello
    How to restore the tablespaces only 4 not all areas of storage in one database to the new database of cloned all cloning with RMAN?

    I don't think it's possible to restore only 4 storage space for the database 'auxiliary '. Instead, you can use the "SKIP TABLESPACE" cloning while clause.

    You can exclude the tablespaces that you don't want the database duplicate with the SKIP TABLESPACE clause. You can exclude any tablespace except the SYSTEM tablespace or tablespaces containing rollback or undo segments.

  • How to move the tablespace SYSAUX ASM file system when the database is opened?

    OS: RHEL 5.9 with UEK

    Database version: Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64 bit Production

    On a stand-alone server network infrastructure.

    According to me, that if I put the database in montage mode or disconnect SYSAUX, I can move the ASM filesystem SYSAUX tablespace by issuing the following instructions:

    • format of backup as copy tablespace SYSAUX "+ SYSTEM";
    • tablespace SYSAUX switch copy;

    But I want to know how I can move the ASM filesystem SYSAUX tablespace when the database is opened.

    Thank you.

    The two doc tells how to move sysaux when the database is opened:

    This method may not work if any process uses sysaux. You will need to stop car he like sb said.

  • How to assign the tablespace name local index when converted to INTERVAL

    Hello
    I'm converting a range partition table in the table to partition INTERVAL. The storage space for the tables is GIVEN. After this operation, all the indexes the world and are valid and usable. However, when the next interval partition is created, the local index is also created in the tablespace DATA. How can I make sure that new partitions of the interval for the index will be created them within the existing Index table?

    Thank you

    Change the index to specify the desired storage space, and new partitions will be created there.

  • How to see the tablespaces created with DBCA

    Dear,
    I have my db created with dbca, how can I see my table space and temporary table space should I use to install my apex.

    THX adavance.
    Celio

    Hello

    If you have created your default database without any specification with DBCA you probably
    have the tablespaces after (if you're 10g or 11g):

    SYSTEM
    SYSAUX
    UNDOTBS1
    USERS
    TEMP

    TEMP is normally your Temporary Tablespace and USER a Tablespace to use for your data.

    You can check with the query given in the previous post (select tablespace_name dba_tablespaces ;) or)
    using DBConsole EM.

    Anyway, you can add your own Tablespace by executing the CREATE TABLESPACE statement.

    You can get more details on the following link:

    As orafad noted, you can use the documentation using ESCALATION clause, i.e.

    SQL> ed
    Wrote file afiedt.buf

      1  CREATE TABLE GPS
      2 ("ID" NUMBER(10,0) NOT NULL ENABLE,
      3              "IP_ADDRESS" VARCHAR2(32 BYTE),
      4              "EQUIPMENT_ID" VARCHAR2(32 BYTE),
      5              "PACKET_DT" DATE,
      6              "PACKET" VARCHAR2(255 BYTE),
      7              "PACKET_FORMAT" VARCHAR2(32 BYTE),

  • How to find the tablespace that has maxsize UNLIMITED?

    Oracle 9.2
    I'm looking for tablespaces that maxsize UNLIMITED in the dictionary dba_xxxx from view. I want to use SQL to find storage space is not UNLIMTED file. I can't find which table dictionary or what column to indicate what storage space isn't UNLIMITED file?

    Please throw some lights.
    Thank you
    S.

    See Note 468096.1 How to check the CanGrow data files the Maxsize unlimited value.
    Oracle limit the number of blocks in a file of data to approximately * 4 million blocks *, so you can run:
    Select file_name in dba_data_files where maxblocks = 4194302;

  • How to increase the Tablespace/datafile max_size

    Hello

    Under current size and max_size of the data_file obtained query. Now, I want to increase the size of the data file.

    SQL > select FILE_NAME, nom_tablespace, BYTES/1024/1024, MAXBYTES/1024/1024 of dba_data_files
    2 where nom_tablespace like '% Tablespace_one' nom_tablespace order;

    FILE_NAME NOM_TABLESPACE BYTES/1024/1024 MAXBYTES/1024/1024
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    4988 5000 TABELSPACE_ONE /xxx/yyyyy/ABCD/data/file_name.dbf

    I want to multiply the max_size up to 6GB.

    Please suggest how to increase the max_size up to 6GB file.

    Thank you and best regards,
    Vincent.
    Setting the maximum size
    It makes only sense to set a maximum size for a datafile if autoextend is on. Hence, the statement to set the maximum size requires to specify autoextend on.
    alter database datafile '/xxx/yyyyy/ABCD/data/file_name.db' autoextend on maxsize 6G;

  • How to shrink the VMDK file?

    Hi all

    Today, I spread a hard disk to increase the size of the drive on one of the virtual machine.  Later due to required requirements is no longer the hard drive. Therefore, it is possible to remove the disc that I extended?

    Thanks in advance

    There is no way to shrink the vmdk file.

    Only create new, smaller size, replicate data and delete everything first.

    If you need temporary space then create the new disk and simply remove it when it is no longer necessary.

  • How to find the tablespace

    Hello
    in 10g R2, DB is mounted and I get ORA-01177: data file is not dictionary - probably old incarnation

    In what display find the tablespace of MYFILE. DBF?

    I want to drop this file to OPEN DATABASE RESETLOGS.

    Thank you.

    Check the TS # used for this data file from v$ datafile

    and from there, you can search for the name in the table space V$ for this data file.

  • How change/shrink the précis of the cursor?

    Hello!

    I use Photoshop CC 2014 to draw and recently bought a 32 "hd tv (1360 x 768 definition) to use as a monitor. It is very good to draw on a larger screen, but something is annoying me... Is the size of the cursor. I was used to my 15 "full hd screen laptop, which makes each smaller icon, so when I use the 32" inches the size of precision cursor sometimes annoys me. And I do not use the brush cursor outline... In any case, IS there WAY TO REDUCE THE PRÉCIS of the CURSOR WITHOUT CHANGING THE RESOLUTION (WHICH IS to RECOMMENDED here)? OR PERHAPS TO CHANGE THE ICON OF THE PRECISE CURSOR? IT would BE GREAT IF it WAS REALLY a PRÉCIS of the CURSOR AS a POINT (AS IN KRITA).

    Well, thank you very much in advance for any support!

    Download lazy Nezumi, which has a cursor on touch down one-touch disable.  LN must be one of the most useful Photoshop Add ons id, it allows to draw, and the support is amazing.

    Lazy Nezumi Pro - mouse and pen smoothing for PhotoShop and other applications

    I had a problem on Christmas day (my wife was in the hospital service).  I couldn't see the screen of Ln(x), and when I turned it works, it seemed embarks on the upper left corner of my screen.  I went to the site of LN and saw a Chat feature.  Now seen it was Christmas day and I'm in New Zealand, I didn't expect a response, but try anyway.  A minute later Guillaume (the man behind LN) is online and spent 15 minutes fixing my problem.  Not only he was extraordinarily useful, like me, he was also _working_ on Christmas day.

    Incidentally, if you ever lose the screen LN, Open regedit and do:

    HKEYCURRENTUSER/software/lazy Nezumi Nezumi/lazy Pro Main Window

    And change the value of "pos" @point (0,0)

    Note: you must close LN for this work.  POS will have at least a negative value if it is parked off the screen. (0,0) it will open in the upper left corner of your main screen.

    Note 2: I hate the cursor disable function to Touch Down and always work with it turned off.
