How to stop a slide pause button?

Hi, I use CP 9 on Windows 10.

I'm 9 Essential Training on Lynda Captivate, and the teacher showed me how to use a form as a button to enable / disable subtitles.

However, the shape is a pause the slide at some point, as you can see in the screenshot.

(I can see from the video that the guardian is having exactly the same problem, but it does not it)

How can I stop the pause button slide? I just want that he be sitting there for the entire project.

Thank you very much!

Will not start ranting about the lack of comprehensiveness/good practice courses for Lynda.com Captivate (I like and I use it all the time, for other applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition,). The essential to know is the chronology (in basic training I always spend at least half a day for this feature), and you won't find much about it in training. For me, it's basic training!

Go to the properties panel for this form button and turn off stopping there.

I see you are using this form to a normal slide button. Why not put on the master slide main if you want for the whole project? Let me also indicate that your form is a break at 7 seconds, preventing several images to appear. The button will disappear at about 13, 5seconds, which means that the user will no longer have the ability to enable/disable CC? Longer life for the rest of the slide (CTRL-E).

I am planning a new version of this old article to deal with the new deadlines of built-in effects, but maybe you'll find some ideas anyway:

Not sure if that's what you want, but the event manager Widget would allow you to each timed display legends of success for a given number of seconds, or perform advanced actions to SHOW or HIDE captions when users click on the points.  You can set preferences in the widget to reset pass/fail criteria after Action to allow users to click on an object as many times as they want to repeat the action.  Set break preferences to permanently stop the slide until the user clicks another button to move to the next slide.

  • Cp6: How to stop a slide with several buttons in a nonlinear presentation?

    Hello

I would be very grateful for a solution to this issue, as I failed to find one yet in this forum.

The presentation is non-linear, which means that the first slide is a kind of menu that you can choose another slide to explore and always comes back to the first.

Each slide has several buttons that activate different audio files, and there is a button on the arrow in the lower right corner to jump to the first slide.

The problem is that the slide does not stop after that you click on some of the audio buttons and continue on the next slide (instead of take a break until the user clicks on the arrow button). When I click a few buttons and listen to audio, eventually the slide automatically continues to the next slide.

    I tried:

    • Add button click box with "break project up to what the user clicks
    • change all the buttons for timing-> break after...
    • change only the arrow for Timing-> button pauses after...
    • and will not take unnecessarily long time to slide

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance,

    The best

You don't say 'how' to play the audio? In any case, the default behavior of interactive objects that trigger a simple action is out the read head. If you replace the simple action by a standard tip action one line, the playhead is not released. Watch this video (posterous is down once, again can not point to my blog):

  • How to stop a slide automatically advances when you press one button several times in 8 Captivate?

Hi, I am a beginner of Captivate so I hope someone can help me solve this problem, I found!

I am trying to create an e-Learning module that I designed a custom at the bottom of the screen reading bar for. This includes a custom button to home/TOC (table of contents) which is linked to the prefabricated Captivate table of contents. I put this button to link to the table of contents, provided that the object is clicked. The function keys work perfectly the first time top, which brings to the table of contents as expected and displays the current slide. When you click the double chevron, it hides the TOC again, showing the State of origin of slides, which is exactly what is needed. HOWEVER! When clicking on the button home again for the second time on the same blade it displays the table of contents in the normal form (which is awesome), but the slide, and then progresses to the next slide automatically (NOT that I would) that I have previous buttons and depending also on the playback bar that control the actions end users.

If anyone can offer me a solution to my problem, I would be extremely grateful because I can't seem to find someone else with the same problem?

    Thanks in advance

You replace the simple actions by a line standard actions. Here is a video on YouTube which explains, not to mention the blog that David was pointing to:

  • How to keep the slide paused when interacting

I have a slide with interaction drag and drop. The user must drag 3 items in three targets.

I have a button 'next' with a conditional action that continues only if the 3 items were dropped and if they were not it displays a group called "error", which is also a close button that hides the Group of "error".

For some reason, the 'close button' which has action "mask" also caused the slide to play after a break so that it continues to the next slide.

The only solution I have is to make a dozen buttons pause so that if one gets no suspended there is still a pause on the slide.

  • How to stop the slide for the duration of the legend? How make it slow down a notch?

Hi, I am very new to Captivate, but I can only borrow for tonight so please help.

I captured a video with Captivate and now I have to add a few legends. But the video is short, so I want to slow it down a bit in some areas (if possible) and I would also like to pause the video during the duration of the legend. So it would be similar to adding breaks for captions.

    Is this possible? How?

I could be wrong, but you save Full Motion? When you add text captions, the duration of this legend is determined by CP took into account the amount of text to read. In the timeline panel, you will see the duration (time), captions, you can always adjust by changing the properties of this legend, in the sheet "Options". If you want the legend to stay until the user clicks, you will need to a button or a box click to trigger the slide to continue. In this case, you can also change the calendar of the legend of text 'for the rest of the slide.

Moreover, you can always download a full version of Captivate work and use it free for a month.

  • How to stop the slide show to start automatically on the desktop

On my Windows 7, my graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 310. Within the last week, with the inactive computer on the desktop, all of a sudden a slideshow will begin watch the images located in the directory "my images". I've never set up something like this. Desktop/Customize, I have a slide show of some of the landscapes on the Aero themes. I have only 5 of these verified and they continue to change the blades at 5 minute intervals. However, this unwanted 'My images' slideshow takes over and begins to play. How can I prevent that from happening. Thank you

I forgot to mention that when I open the NVIDIA card (that I'm here and I never went forward), everything is not checked.

I think I can find the answer, but I don't know to see you for a few days if the problem still exists. When I went to customize, I found that there are 2 themes, one save and the other unregistered. By clicking on one of them, the drop-down arrow showed a directory called "Image library" which, once opened was the "My pictures" directory that had the same pictures that have been popping up. In addition, everyone had a check mark on it. I clicked on 'Clear all' / register and liquidated. Then I went to the theme and deleted. At least for a day, I have no pop ups that occur.

There is always a strange thing is happening. When I deleted the theme which was the directory of the images as a choice library, the only theme on the left on the screen was a "unsaved theme".  I couldn't delete it. It seems to be OK since the only slide show which continues to work is that I chose the default categories with 6 audited slides. However, if I click on the 'wallpaper' in the lower left corner of the screen, the screen opens showing all categories with my slides selected audited. At the top of the page, there is a drop-down list "image location". These are several places, including "photo library". When I clicked on it, once again, 'My pictures' folder open and all images have a checkmark on them again. I do not understand why they have been checked since I did a 'clear all' earlier and saved. I don't think that having checked them are bad something, but I don't understand why they are checked when I've previously saved in a State as non-verified. This is another example of why Windows 7 is so bad. All should be disabled until the user decides what he or she wants.

  • How to stop the slider to jump to a new location when the keyboard?

As I type, the letters can appear at the beginning of a sentence or a paragraph which was completed OR in the middle of a Word.  I have no control, except to stop and reposition the cursor to continue my message.  It is important now that I'm in word or create a gmail message or a comment on Facebook.  Very annoying.  By writing this message, it behaved well; almost as if he's teasing me.  What a Rascal.

I'll guess that you are using a laptop with a touchscreen mouse. Chances are you are brushing and causing your cursor jump. Try with an external keyboard and see if you still have the same problem. In some cases, you can go to control panel > mouse and check the settings to see if you can adjust the sensitivity to it.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to stop the slide duration change when stuck?

(Adobe Captivate 5). I have a few thumbnails - sets of a few slides - I would like to integrate more than a presentation. In the original presentation, slide durations are all carefully defined, but when I copy and paste slides in another presentation, slide durations increase unnecessarily.

Is there a way to prevent this free extension of the timeline and keep the original term?

Just another idea: have you tried to turn these slides into a model (you can just change the extension, most of the aspects will work) and start the other presentations with the model?

    Hello

This sounds like there is a fundamental misunderstanding of objects and timeline.

Buttons and boxes click stops normally slide they are on up to that the user performs an action that causes the playhead to resume playback. Consider the image of the timeline below:

(You may need to click to enlarge)

Note that the slide is timed for six seconds. The click box is timed for three seconds and will pause at the end as indicated by the pause icon. ( || ).

Notice that the button stop to 1.5 seconds. So if you click on the button and the Pause released, assuming that the action of the one "continue" button, the slide would break again at the second three score because that's where the click box is a break.

So lets assume there are three click boxes and a button. Each click box is staged to pause the slide at different times.

In the image above, click box 1 will pause for a second. If the user clicks and the continuous blade to play, he will then break again during the second two mark as Click Box 2 stop there. And the third click box stops at the mark three seconds. But if you look carefully, then don't touch. This means that if you click on the third click box, the break is released and the button is always visible, but it is not pause the slide as it was before.

If your installation, you probably need to stage the point break from the button a little further on the timeline.

    See you soon... Rick
