  Hi all!

  I have so many problems trying to get an ISO of Microsoft.com. Sorry for the post on the problems of site here, but the site was so bad, that it was the only place that I could think to actually submit the problem.

  Purpose: Download clean/self/authentic/official ISO of Windows 7 Home Premium x 64.

  I have the license key (HP OEM sticker and the internal license key, I found in the registry).

  Expected solution: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery.

  I have the OEM entry license and tells me to contact my manufacturer of the software. HP simply redirects to an old Microsoft link to download the ISO. The link goes down, and I get redirected to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery. Cycle with no end, no solution.

  I enter the license key that I find in my registry. I get an error of 715-123130 system (I think simply means denied license) and asks me to go to the Microsoft Support contact page we.

  Microsoft has changed the way to get the ISO and you must contact the manufacturer of the computer for all OEMS.  Your key is legitimate but OEM.  OEM means original OEM.  This is where you need to get the ISO.  HP will provide you with a dvd for a minimal cost, but your best bet is to CALL them not to try and work through the maze online.

  You are right.  Not more ISO download.  However, you can use any install of Win7 disc until it matches your edition of code (family/professional edition) and the number of bits (32/64)

  Find a friend who has one and make a few copies.

How do I get it on my first computer? I know it's probably easy, but it would be nice for me to get that clarified before proceeding to downloads.

  As the error that you are experiencing is simply due to the fact that recovery disks will not properly install on a disk smaller than that they were created on, I just burn the ISO correct on a blank DVD and use it to run the installation - there is no need to create a bootable USB key, unless you have a problem with the optical drive of your laptop.

  Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

  An example of a COA label can be seen here.

  You can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the version exact same origin supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

  Yes, I'm familiar with your recent discussions on this particular computer as well as the fact that he gave to your son as a used computer. Be so familiar with the history of this computer, I feel confident in saying he was already infected when he gave your son.

  I fear that the only way to get this computer secure and fully patched to Windows Update will be formatting the hard drive - and then do a clean install of Windows.

  Since you don't have the disks that originally came with the computer (and assuming that the original owner would have given them to you when gave you the computer if there were), we must assume (or at least to cross our fingers and hope) that there is a hidden restore partition that could be used to return the computer to the condition it was before first it left the factory.
