  What you say makes no sense and I question the validity of these comments.  Update to Windows 8.1 will do more good than harm.  Very few people who have updated have experienced problems, so comments to keep your receipt no logic.

I don't remember).  A drop down menu allowed me to select "Remind Me later".  It has happened from time to time, but was simply a minor inconvenience.  HOWEVER, recently these alerts is no longer offer me the option "Remind Me later".  My choices are 'Now,' 'One hour', 'Two Hours', etc.   The first time it appeared, I was intrigued by the absence of the previous option, but could not get control of my computer back until I got something.  So, I took 4 hours, expecting to be invited again.  Stupid thing embarks on an update in 4 hours while I was working.  I couldn't stop, so I stop it manually to my computer.  He then had to go a process to restore my previous version.
