How to stop Windows Explorer 8 refusing to download Firefox? It is said that it is an illegal action
I have a new to me 2008 computer Dell laptop running Explorer8 for Windows XP (SP3). I'm trying to download Firefox, that we use in all our other computers as Navigator, and it refuses to download the files, saying: this is an illegal action, and he throws me offline. How to neutralize Explorer8, who apparently is not ready to die in peace, download Firefox, then change to Firefox as default browser without a collapse of the laptop?
There are no on the screen long enough to write. "An illegal action", it is said, and one or 2 other words flash before he disappeared and then my computer goes dead (or should I say it stops dead) and must restart. I find a disc to load Firefox while offline, so it's ready and waiting to pounce on Explorer8 when I go online, instead of the other way around.

Hello
If you have a windows that open upwards, any window, then more than likely, it is in your startup folder. Click the Start button, all programs, startup and see if there is a shortcut to your folder of libraries in there, if so, do a right-click and delete it. That should address this for you.

How to stop Windows Update to force an unwanted win7 upgrade to win 10
Can someone tell me how to stop Windows Update to force an unwanted Win 7 upgrade to win 10.
Currently, I have 50 + 'important' updates pending and 3 updates "optional" (which one is ranked 10 Windows), but even with 10 Windows Update is not selected and the value "hide this update" the only option shown in Windows Update is upgrading to Windows 10.
Any attempt to install ONE of the other Win 7 or MS Office updates translates into Windows Update, saying that it is downloading Windows 10.
I would like to install updates Windows 7 (and MS Office), but given the way that Microsoft has put on several occasions customers for a forced update to win 10, I'd really rather not count on leave install Win 10 and just hope that the 'Roll Back' option really works without leaving me right where I am now.

How to get Windows Explorer to pin to the taskbar
Problem:
When I right click on Windows Explorer to get pinned and there is no element entrance does forr it pin to the taskbar OR the StartMenu , like most of the other applications in the my system.
I was able to do on my system to my office, so I know that this is possible. I got it made the pinned the system now have the problem, that is up to the Microsoft has eliminated the last fixes on Saturday 21 September 12 game that wacked my entire task bar, bar side and scrogged many other aspects of my system!
I really hope that they actually only has finally fixed the leak of security IE forever with this patch as they promised and not just Fubar-ing of many systems to give the appearance of shutter makes the run with more than one finger! (but that too can depend on which finger gets referenced as I can think that a my system seems to have understood).
That being said, let's start by skipping the usual diatribe of suggestions of neophytes who Parrot just what is on both boards, blogs and other forums with what I remember, try to address my situation:
- I tried to drag links "Windows Explorer" and shortened to Windows Explorer to get the fallen on the toolbar. No go!
- I tried all the suggestions of registry to Windows Explorer PIN to the taskbar. No go!
- I searched the registry for any key with PIN or NOPIN on their behalf and found Nothing. Although the PIN search revealed several keys and values with pin drowned in (e.g.ping stri"," myPINing "", Snapine","OfficeVBAHelpinetlHiddenIntl_1033", nausea etc. to height of 3114 hits ad).
But know the FUBAR occurred, does anyone have the best ideas on how to fix the problem with Windows Explorer so that I can once again pin it to my task bar and maybe my StartMenu too?
Use search programs and files "windows explorer". When you right click on the link that there it will give you options to pin the taskbar icon or the start menu.

How to stop windows 7 from automatically saving a copy of the file to the library?
I have a desktop hp brand new high. I installed Microsoft Office 2010. Whenever I save a file, photo, etc, it saves a copy of the "library". How it stop doing that? I read about using the library and he said I could save a copy in the library, but it does it automatically. Is there a way to stop this? A I inadvertently set up in this way? If I delete a file from my documents, it is removed from the library and vice versa. From what I've read, it should be and the options, not automatic. If you can help, please dumb it down a lot because I'm not well versed in computer talk. Thank you very much!
The library is in fact that index files and in showing them, not actually recording a copy I think. With Explorer open where you can see libraries, choose a category from the left such as the images pane and then right-click and choose Properties. In the window that opens, you should see your C:\ User\Pictures folder that is listed in the index. Click Select, and then click Remove. Now library should not index files. Select each category for example Documents, etc and do the same thing.

How to stop Windows 7 opening 'imported photos and videos' after each scan an image?
I'm scanning multiple images and after EACH scan, Win7 opens a new window "Imported pictures and videos", despite the window being open 20 times already...
In the import dialog box, deselection 'Open Windows Explorer after import' has no effect. After each import, a Windows Explorer window appears showing me that the directory of the file has been imported to (i.e. "imported photos and videos"). Worse still, this happens even if another this window is already open - so if (for example), I scan 10 pictures, I have 10 windows explore open all showing this same directory (unless I close them I will). It's boring, clutters the taskbar and takes expire have to close each window - how are we going to stop Win 7 "Imported photos and videos" opening after each scan?
Hello Carl,
You attempted to change the option to "Open the Windows Explorer after import" while connected as another user on the computer to see if the problem persists? Also, have you tried to scan using a different computer to see if we can isolate the problem to a machine? If you have checked these things and the behavior has not changed, I suggest to leave feedback for the Windows team at this link as an option behaves as expected:
