How to stop Windows Update to take keyboard focus, when you are asked "do you want to restart now?

Windows Update often wants to restart the computer after an update.  If you say "not now" (or ignore?), he will later pop up a question "reboot now?" in a bubble of task bar.  INCREDIBLY, it will at that time take keyboard focus of everything that happens and then accept what he gets as a response from the user.  This means that if the user was in the middle of typing something, the following sequence of keys will enter the bubble "you want to restart" instead of some request the user was in the middle of the help.  It's very bad.

Here is what just happened to me.  I was in the middle of typing a document when the keyboard focus was suddenly taken by the issue of recovery, a fraction of a second later, the following combination of keys, he disappeared - I have no idea what hit it.  Fortunately, I saw the flash and guess what had happened and quickly you press 'save' on my request.  A few seconds later, my application has been closed as the machine restarted.

I think that the bubble of Windows Update SHOULD NOT STEAL the KEYBOARD FOCUS.  I think it's dangerous and bad design.

What is the best way to communicate this suggestion to the team of Windows Update?

Is there a setting to stop Windows Update to do this?  (Stop stealing keyboard focus)

I use Vista Home Premium

I'm looking for a Microsoft solution for the specific problem I described, and/or advice on where post for better attention to Microsoft to "design problem".

None of us are obstruction you. If we knew a way to avoid this problem (problem), we would have mentioned it earlier in this thread.

You aren't the first person to complain about this and I'm sure you won't be the last. According to Microsoft, you have two options:

1 use an automatic updates setting other Automatic (for example, download updates but let me choose whether to install them). or...

2. turn off the automatic updates and get your updates manually (which I don't recommend).

Can someone tell me how to stop Windows Update to force an unwanted Win 7 upgrade to win 10.

Currently, I have 50 + 'important' updates pending and 3 updates "optional" (which one is ranked 10 Windows), but even with 10 Windows Update is not selected and the value "hide this update" the only option shown in Windows Update is upgrading to Windows 10.

Any attempt to install ONE of the other Win 7 or MS Office updates translates into Windows Update, saying that it is downloading Windows 10.

I would like to install updates Windows 7 (and MS Office), but given the way that Microsoft has put on several occasions customers for a forced update to win 10, I'd really rather not count on leave install Win 10 and just hope that the 'Roll Back' option really works without leaving me right where I am now.

  • How to stop Windows Update by creating temporary files on my external drives?

Any ideas on how to tell Windows Update to stay away from my external drives?

I have several external drives I use for backup projects, archives and collections of major media. They are connected to my laptop very irregularly and rarely more than a few hours. In recent years they have been inundated with folders with long as names d84fa74b9585277339 as the seams related to Windows Update. I think it has already started on the laptop with XP I had before this one. Sometimes I see these files on the internal hard disk, but there are theyalways disappear after some time. On external drives, I have to delete manually. On an NTFS disk partition I use for backup, it's not easy, sometimes I have to take ownership of the folder. Drives FAT32 / exFAT is easy.

I guess people who have developed Windows Update realized that you can not trust USB or eSATA connected drives to be there when the cleaning is executed (BTW when cleanup runs it?). So I must have screwed up a setting somewhere. And I have to be very consistent in this because the same thing happens with friends and relatives, I contributed to the installation of Windows 7...

  • How to stop the elements to appear to refresh when you visit the following pages?

I put a navigation bar and the logo on the master page, that are inherited by all pages and sub-pages related to it. The navigation bar and logo still seems to refresh when you move from one page to another. I find this extremely annoying. I thought that perhaps this Visual discomfort has occurred in the application of Muse in preview mode - or only the first time that a page has been loaded. So with empty Safari cache, I went the direct start tutorial site: katiesbakerycafe.com and found that the bar of navigation-logo on the subpages (which differs from the homepage) updated the visit of one of the secondary pages - Menu, Gallery, Blog, Contact - for the first time. But the bar of navigation-logo did not appear to refresh when you click back amongst these pages after the first visit. Yes, only half-bad, but still annoying.

Is there a way to stop this Visual gene on a site created in Muse?

In the past, I would have set up navigation on the periphery of my Web page and used a large framework containing all the pages that use the same navigation bar.

    Thank you.

    Hi Pamela,.

The html code generated for the master page is repeated for each page to that master is applied. So it refreshes the page on each fresh charge, after which browser implements cache data to avoid reloading of static content.

What you are referring is not possible in Muse at this stage. I would recommend that you post this idea to our section ideas, ideas for features in Adobe Muse

  • Stop the updating of the region (report) when you press the button

    Hello

I created a report region, using the select statement:
    select * from TABLE(CAST(JCMS_MERGE_BATCHES_PKG.show_merged_batches_fn('M29||0') AS jcms_rep_batch_type))
Is there a way to stop this submission report when you press a button on my page?

The reason for this requirement is that my report contains checkboxes for each returned row. The default value for the checkbox control is CHECKED when the report is refreshed. However, I would like users to uncheck some lines in the report, click a button and have a treatment performed on ONLY the checked lines. My page almost works, but because the report is refreshing, after I completed my treatment, the report is back with all lines in the selection again.

    Thank you very much

    Paul

  • How could stop windows update to stop rolling back my manually update driver

I had problems with my video, whenever I tried to go full-screen, the screen went white white, without a chance of scape. Then I went to the site of the manufacturer and I ran the upgrade of the automatic display driver. The next day, Microsoft automatic update sent my point back to the older version of the driver. Change your settings to "Auto update":

Right click on "My Computer"-> properties-> automatic updates (tab)

  • message reads: your computer must be restarted to complete a previous update of Firefox. Do you want to restart now? After each restart, the same message appears and I can't open Firefox

My office uses Windows 7 Professional, as shown above, that I need advice how to open Firefox. I tried to uninstall Firefox, but the same message, which is stated above and multiple reboots fail

I had the same problem after trying an update of Firefox 7.x to version 9.0.1.
I deleted the file named "firefox.exe.moz - upgrade" from the folder C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox. After that, I was able to uninstall Firefox from the control panel. After the reboot, I was able to install Firefox 9.0.1 and run it without error.
My OS is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I was installing the UK English version (I got the U.S. English version above).

  • I restarted my computer 5 times and I always get a popup that says: "your computer must be restarted to complete a previous update of Firefox. Do you want to restart now? »

I have exactly the problem. Partly because my computer does not allow me to delete the Mozilla Firefox program folder.

  • Explorer Windows automatically launches Internet explorer 11 when you try to connect to an FTP site.

    I have windows 7 Pro 64-bit

Until recently I used windows Explorer to an internet FTP site FTP.

I realize that Internet explorer can be used but it is heavy for our clients to use. Creating and deleting directories and transfer files.

    Windows Explorer is much simpler.

Until recently I have just type in the site FTP (example only)

    FTP://MyFTPSite.com/

and Windows Explorer would take me to my FTP site asking my login and password. Now it automatically opens Internet Explorer 11 who don't ask me my login and password.

If I wanted to use IE or chrome or any other browser I would use them all first. I want to use Windows Explorer for my FTP sites.

How can I change this back?

I went in the "associate a type of file or Protocol and tried to change the current default protocol FTP for Windows Explorer program, but it won't let me." It allows only to IE, Chrome and other browsers not Windows Explorer.

Were there an update that changed this?

I stop my firewall and turned of my antivirus, but it still does not work and is not only on a single computer do so all our computers under W7 - 64.

Our W-XP-32 faithful computers still work fine running Windows Explorer with an FTP site, and they use IE 8. No problem using Windows Explorer for FTP here.

I also checked in Internet Explorer,

    a. click on 'tools '.

    b. Select 'Internet Options '.

    c. open the "Advanced" tab

    d. took a glance at the box "Enable FTP folder view" and it has been verified

    e. also checked the "use passive FTP mode" and he also checked.

I also have Chrome installed and rendered my browser by default, everything what was then to begin launch Chrome instead IE to my FTP site.

Here's the problem that I have clients who are not very computer savvy and I have seen some discussion to have to hack the registry, not a good idea for a non-technical computer person and I'm sure that their companies will not.

Also, some of these companies won't allow programs like Filezilla FTP, WFTP, etc. and must be installed on their networks.

Could someone my why Microsoft thought it was a good idea to change this?

    Thank you
