How to tie a dvPortGroup as VC:Network

Hello

I have a problem attaching a dvPortGroup to my adapter e1000 (because of Linux in the virtual machine)... I use:

deviceConfigSpecs.push (System.getModule("com.vmware.library.vc.vm.spec.config.device").createVirtualEthernetCardNetworkConfigSpecE1000(vmNetwork,""));

to create the adapter and the vmNetwork is the dvPortGroup. The machine has an e1000 and the PortGroup, but if I look in the settings I see an empty network label :-(

Could someone help?

Christian

Hello Christian, kick this workflow

The attached .package file contains a workflow that consists of two actions. The workflow takes 3 possible entries (only 2 are required):

(1) vm (VC:VirtualMachine)

(2) nicNumber (number) [optional] if not specified, the first network adapter is chosen

(3) dvPortgroup (VC:DistributedVirtualPortgroup)

The result of the execution of the workflow is THAT NIC of the virtual machine must be connected to the specified GRPE distributed virtual ports

  • How could I give priority to my network connections, (without turning off the strap attached, as it took), so that it uses the internet from my main network connection?

    Prioritize network connections

    OK, here's the situation.
I have a regular ethernet connection that provides me with a network and the internet.
I have also a tablet PC which I attach to my PC so I can use it as a controller. (Not that it is important, but it's for a DAW/Midi controller)

My problem is that whenever I place my tablet, PC starts by ignoring my normal connection and taking the internet from my Tablet (even when it is not connected to the internet). As a result, my internet is de-energized once I tie it, if I'm not as under the wifi on my tablet.

My question is, how could I give priority to my network connections, (without turning off the strap attached, as it took), so that it uses the internet from my main network connection?

  • Tool to watch how an application interacts with the OS network stack?

I have a third-party commercial application that sends a UDP broadcast and waits for a response from machines on the same network.  It works fine when only one card NETWORK interface (we'll call it "primary") is enabled but if I enable the 'secondary' adapters fails.  It seems that the problem is in how the application is to determine what NETWORK card to use.  Y at - it a tool that would let me ask questions or look at what made the app to determine what NETWORK card to send traffic on?  I took the Wireshark traces and that showed me the traffic but I need something that will give me more information at an earlier stage of the process.  I also watched some of the Sysinternal tools and wasn't sure if one of those who do the trick.  Looks like I need to look at the app launch and watch it somehow to go through the process of selecting an interface to use.  Is this possible?

    OS is WinXP and/or Win2008 32 or 64-bit.

How to share a webcam on a network home?

    Hello

What kind of Webcam do you use? It's active USB or WI - FI enabled?

If you are using active USB webcam, then you can share the webcam just like other USB devices. However if you try to take pictures or make the video of yours in a remote with Webcam sharing enabled so that used is possible. The focus of the webcam cannot be shared. Objects must also be in front of the goal of webcams.

Follow the same steps with the Webcam and see if you can share the webcam.

  • How to remove or delete profiles redundant network (names) of my office and laptops running Windows 7?

With Verizon DSL modem in bridge and as a router Linksys WRT 160N, my desktop and laptop computers have been in a network.  Laptop computer and printer via wireless and desktop wired.  The name of the network used to be the same for all connected devices.  However, when my Linksys gave the soul about a week ago, I reconnected it via the Verizon Actiontec WRT704G modem/router combination and since I could not print from the laptop, and it takes about 5 minutes to print 2 pages of my office.  The network name on my desktop by default automatically to the network 4, and on the laptop, there '2' after the former name of network.  With different network names, I couldn't set up my home group.  But I have access to the internet on both computers.  The network name (SSID) on the site config the router and the printer is the same: the former name of the network without the '2'.

I need help or advice on how to clear or remove these other network names and have just 1 network name for all connected devices.  I know that in Vista, you can merge or remove network profiles but can't seem to find a way to do this under Windows 7.  Also, my laptop is Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit and the Office on Home Premiun 64 bit.

    Thank you

  • How to configure a VM with multiple network cards to see Agent?

How to configure a VM with multiple network cards to see Agent?

We can archive this requirement by configuring the subnet used view Agent.

The subnet determines which view address of Network Agent provides the server instance to connect to view for the client protocol connections. The view on VM officer has more than one NIC

    Follow the procedure below:

on a display Agent installed VM,

    * Recording of VM session.

    * RUN--> type regedit or type regedit.exe at the command prompt

    * Create a registry entry to configure the subnet.

    For example: is HKLM\Software\VMware, Inc. \VMware VDM\Node Manager\subnet = n.n.n.n/m type - REG_SZ.

In this example, n.n.n.n is the TCP/IP subnet, and m is the number of bits in the subnet mask.

  • How to tie a VM exclusively to 1 of the 4 physical NIC on the VM host?

Hey guys, I have essential Vsphere (not essential more), and I'm trying to figure out how tie/link a virtual machine running a mail server to one of the 4 network cards on the VM (Dell R510) host. I try to put/run this VM (e-mail and Web server) through my firewall DMZ port, so I would link the virtual machine to one of the network cards unused (only 2 are active by grouping network adapters).

So far, I have looked through of the "networking - > Hardware" in the configuration of the host and see all my virtual machines are under 'VM Network '. I tried to change the settings of "VM Network" to make the 3rd and 4th nic unused, but when I try a make a another network of virtual machine (VM Network 2) there automatically all NICs in it. There seems to be no way that create a network of vm with just the network cards that I want. If anyone of you knows different let me know where I was wrong, or if you know another way I should do please let me know. Thanks for your time.

You do not want to create a vDS. What you need to do is to create a second standard virtual switch with an uplink to the desired network and virtual machine port group.
