How to UN-do an import?

I just started using Lightroom and tried to import my photos from a network drive.  I selected the folder on the drive, then when I click on import he began to import tens of thousands of files in my C: drive.  Now, I have thousands of little useless images of my program files and no pictures.  How can I save and delete all this stuff from the library?

I already looked through the help files, the forum posts, etc.

The design of Lightroom is really not as something I've never seen in Windows.  It's horribly confusing.  If I can't understand that so easily, I have will likely be asked for my money back and never come back to Adobe.

Thanks for your help.

In the left panel of the library under Catalog module, select "Previous import." Select all of the image files (CTRL + A), press the DELETE key and select "delete" and NOT DELETE! This will remove the files from the image of the LR catalog, but leave them on your hard drive.

Yes indeed this is correct! LR is a non-destructive image editor that works quite different from most other applications so that you can be used. When import you files in LR, it adds an entry for car rental in the LR catalog. Because of this that we should never move, rename, delete or add files outside LR using Windows Explorer. Pressing the F1 key inside of LR, which will take you to the help page of LR for more information and tutorials.
