How to upgrade the camera RAW processing in my CS5 after re-installation in Win 8.

I reinstalled my CS5 on my new Windows 8.1 system and reinstated again. I can't seem to update efficiently to what I had running before; Treatment for my camera RAW files D800. Taken customer care head to the cloud. I can't use it; I spend a lot of time where there is no connection, and I also live in the rural countryside, a spotty connection. I have the ring around to give by far customer support. I need what I had work before and what I paid for. Or I need the version of Photoshop that works on my computer without the internet. It's as simple as that.

What needs to be done?

You need to download and install your updates. 12.0.4 for Photoshop and 6.7 for Camera Raw:

Adobe - Photoshop: For Windows: Adobe Photoshop 12.0.4 updated for Adobe Photoshop CS5

Adobe - Photoshop: for Windows: Camera Raw 6.7 update

FAQ: FAQ: is Photoshop Elements works with my camera, or why does not open my raw files?

This means that the 12 elements is too old updated to 8.6.

You must have at least PSE13 (PSE14 is now at 9.4)

If you do not wan't to pay the upgrade, you can use the DNGconverter mentioned in this faq. You download this application free and independent (not a plugin); It can batch process all of a folder of your raw files to DNG format raw that your 12 elements can read and modify.

  • Cannot open the camera raw 6.0 Bridge CS5

I just installed photoshop CS5 and I'm unable to view and open my NEF files in Camera Raw in Bridge CS5.  It worked perfectly fine with CS4 Bridge and Camera Raw 5.1.0.30.  Anyone have any suggestions other than using my old Bridge CS4. I have mas OS X 10.6.3 installed on my computer.

    Thank you very much

I uninstalled and reinstalled the whole photoshop CS5 and it's always the same... I am at lost and using my old CS4 bridge for now.

You must confirm that the Camera Raw plugin has been properly installed so that the two bridge _and_ Photoshop can access. For Mac only right place is to be installed is: the level of the root (not the user library) library. To the inside of the eye to Library Application Support / Adobe/Plug-ins / CS5 / File Formats / camera Raw.plugin

If plug in Camera Raw isn't here or one of these folders are not there then Camera Raw is not correctly installed... If Camera Raw is correctly installed, then you may need to do several things... first of all, in the folder that you want to see raw images, and ride under Tools / Cache / purge the Cache for the file. If this does not work, you may have to trash your preferences in Bridge CS5. To do this, hold down the command / Option / Shift key while double-clicking the bridge app icon and choosing preferences reset...

If Camera Raw was not properly installed, sorry, you can not help... you may have to contact Customer Service for technical support installation.

  • How do I enter Camera Raw plugin for PES 11?

I can't understand how to access the Camera Raw plugin for Photoshop elements 11 (on a Macbook Pro OSX.)  I recently installed 11 PES, and when I select "about plug-ins" within the app, it brings up a box shows version 7.1.0.354.  Does this mean that it is already installed?  If so, how can I access to edit a photo? In previous versions of PSE, I simply chose "open file / Camera Raw" but this option doesn't show up.

In the open dialog box file make sure you have selected to allow All readable Documents .

Click the file you want to open

After the upgrade of Camera Raw 9.1 all cases and objectives profiles have disappeared.  How to make a comeback?  My camera and lens where in there before and worked fine.

You can see a screenshot of the area of optical Correction to ACR, the list of the brand expanded?

The ACR and DNG Converter store their profiles in the same folder.  If you have recently uninstalled the DNG Converter, maybe he deleted all of the profiles?  You could put them back by reinstalling the DNG Converter 9.1, which is available on the Adobe updates page:

I just switched to a Nikon D80 with a Nikon D90 and I use Photoshop 4 and bridge. I can't open the NEF (raw) images off bridge. How can I get the camera raw dialog screen which came to my D-80?

Devices supported by Adobe Camera Raw

First of all, the D90 was supported in Camera Raw 5.1.

Open Photoshop and click on Photoshop (Mac) or help (Win) > Plug-ins > Camera Raw to see what version you use.

Photoshop CS4 comes with Camera Raw 5.0.

Try to update Camera Raw in Photoshop to 5.7 via help > updates.

If this does not work, try to manually edit Camera Raw

    Your options:

    1. Upgrade to CS6 which is compatible with Camera Raw 8.1, so you can open and edit your Raw D7100 files
      vailable.html http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2013/06/Camera-Raw-8-1-and-DNG-Converter-8-1-Now-a
    2. Join the cloud (monthly payment) and get Photoshop CC to go so you can open and edit your Raw D7100 files
    3. Stay on CS5 and convert all your D7100 Raw DNG files using the Adobe's DNG Converter for free. Then change the DNG files in CS5.

  • The Camera Raw editing is not enabled

I use CS6 on a pc and have for years. From time to time trying to open a file in Camera Raw, I get this message:

"The Camera Raw editing is not enabled. Camera Raw edition requires a product calling it launched at least once to activate this function. »

I tried to open a scan of a CD. I tried to open it in Camera Raw to both the icon and the menu drop down and got the same message twice. PS was already open. Then I opened the file in Photoshop and saved on my hard drive. Then I tried to open the disk hard version backed up, and the same error message came. When I try to open a file that was edited in Camera Raw before, CR works fine, but with any file that has not been open before in CR, I get this message. Very frustrating. I will continue to work on that, but in the meantime, does anyone have a practical work around? I've always been able to work around this problem in the past, but I don't remember how I did it. Thank you.

That one is easy. Go Task Manager and you will see a process for the bridge. Double click on it and click on stop or end the process. This happens when you have the bridge in the status bar Windows system to Windows startup.
