How to use mxf with Premiere elements files?

Any ideas on how to use my canon xf100 with elements .mxf? In addition, I don't see a setting in menu when I start a project?

  • Any advantage of using Photoshop with Premiere Elements (instead of Photoshop CS4)?

Soon, we are about to buy a Mini-DV with Premiere Elements camera. We currently have Photoshop CS4. Question: Is there a technical advantage to buy a copy of Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements? Are there specific tools in Photoshop Elements that would make video editing more easy than using Photoshop CS4? Thank you.

The biggest advantage to using Photoshop Elements with Premiere Elements is that you can transfer some projects — namely slideshows - from one to the other. In other words, you can start a slide show in Photoshop Elements, and then send it to Premiere Elements for the finishing and DVD release.

But, if you have CS4, I wouldn't bother with Photoshop Elements otherwise. It will feel like a toy compared to the pro version.

  • Lag/rendering with Premiere Elements problems

During my studies, I was with Premiere Pro, with whom I could work (though I've always been under the impression that I'm playing with a little more than the tip of the iceberg). After leaving University, I looked out for another video editing program, and since most of the comments stated that Premiere Elements has been a good choice for non-professional video editing and certainly adequate for everyday use. So, I got a copy of PElements, which was pretty cheap compared to its big brother.

However, after trying to edit two videos in one (the same scene taken with different cameras), I must admit that I am a little disappointed.

The biggest point of contention is the terrible lag. Agency was already overwhelmed by the people, but they did not nearly unworkable program. Then I started to make the two video tracks, that would take about 4 hours for a simple 11:30 (2 x) minutes of video material.

I used the following for this system:

    Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180

    2 GHz

    4 GB of Ram

    Windows 7

    32 bit

Video files, that I worked with were already changed to Avi using the following conversion programs converted camera cassette versions (I had to convert because for some unknown reason, my old Premiere Pro has refused to work with AVCHD or vlc.tod - files, so I did not worth to try it here).

Free Video Converter V3.0.0.0 (Koyote Soft)

    Output Avi Format

    MS-Mpeg4-V2 codec

    Any Video Converter (MPlayer)

    Output Avi Format

    Mpeg4 codec

So, my question would be: is this normal? I guess, if anything, items would be faster than Pro because it is less complicated, but appearently I was mistaken. What is the reason - is the obsolete system, do I have to use special presets for a video clip or is the format of data file I used to blame for either or both of my problems?

(other questions are cut-editing tools and color are much coarser than those of the body, but I guess this is intentional)

Your gun shoots in a variety of formats. If you want to edit in Premiere Elements, you should shoot only in MXP or FXP mode. (Leave the Everio out of the mix for this part of the experiment, since these cams have their own unique challenges.)

You should then beyond a Premiere Elements project using the project settings for stereo 1920 x 1080 AVCHD full.

Use the elements first get the media / Flip and AVCHD camcorder to import video from your camcorder to your computer and place the video on the timeline. You should not see red lines above clips. You should also see pretty good performance when you work with it.

Also, your computer may be low power to work with this type of video. Hi-def video can take a long time to render, particularly on a dual-core computer. But converted to a different format using another program will not improve things a lot unless you know for sure your perfect product converter Type 2 DV - AVI.

In fact, you can produce a Type 2 DV - AVI from this video AVCHD with Premiere Elements. Just place your AVCHD videos on this once and then go to the action/computer/AVI and select it as the DV PRESET. The video it produces should work very well in a project set up for widescreen DV. It will be the standard definition rather than hi-def - but, if you plan out your last video in standard definition (for example, online or on DVD) you might as well work with it in this format.

But as I have described above as your experience. Try not all high-end and do not mix the Everio format in your project again and see if it improves things.

Once find you a clean and efficient workflow that works with the best video formats, you should see a significant improvement in performance.

But for now, stay away from third-party video converters. They seem to be working against you.

  • with Premiere Elements, how share (export) part of my video, not all this?

Using Premiere Elements, how share (export) part of my video, not all this?

    carol2r

What version of Premiere Elements you are using and on what computer operating system is running? For now, I will assume first elements 12 on Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 64bits.

    1. place the grey bar activities tabs so that they cover all the timeline content that is to be exported.

To position the grey legs... Move the indicator of chronology for the beginning of the segment to be exported, you hold down the Alt key, press the [key left hook

.. [then move the indicator in the timeline to the end of the segment to be exported, you hold down the ALT key, press the right bracket]

    2. the other necessary part of this task is for you to have a check mark next to the option "Share activities Bar only" as part of the export. See publish + share/computer /... Most have the option "Activities part only", some do not.

Don't forget, you need 1 and 2 of the above to make it work.

Please provide more details for fine adjustment of the replica. If screenshots are needed, I will post them.

Looking forward to your follow-up to the top.

    Thank you.

  • S - Video capture with Premiere Elements

I've been using Premiere Pro 2 for some time and have always been able to capture video from my Sky Box or video recorder with my Matrox RTX100 card using the s-video inputs.

I recently bought a camera with HD (Sony NEX-5) capabilities and purchased Premiere Elements because my old PP2 will not recognize HD.

PE does not recognize my Matrox card, so I can not download any more.

Does anyone know how to download EP from a VCR or a TV?

    Thank you.

In general, I find it better to download/video capture in a file using the application of origin for each device and do not use PE9 to capture.

I have an old camera to DV tape and a strong memory HD camera and use different software supplied with each camera to create the files on my hard drive.

The old tapes Sony DV SD camera has a video input which is ideal for capturing composite video VCR in AVI format.   The Sony software debtor can capture live directly from the tape using firewire, as he does not know if the DV tape or VCR plays.

Only so I use these files in PE9 and I never hurt to mix .h2ts and. AVI formats.

You must keep the original software that is most appropriate for your capture device (unless PE2 does a better job anyway).

  • reconnection of clips in Premiere Elements files

Hi, I know how to reconnect files that have become irreversible in Premiere Pro, but how to do this in the elements?  (I have the clips that have become form dissociated their multimedia files).

    JohnnyA

The "Where is the file _?" is usually one in one operation. But sometimes, if you get lucky, answering one will trigger the rest (or some other) to reconnect automatically.

    Just in case the message...

    a. do not move, delete or rename files and folders that went into the project after the project has been saved closed.

    and

    b. If you have the source media to your project stored on an external hard drive, make sure that the drive letter does not change due to a malfunction or a plug-and-play sequence

    and

    c. If you transfer projects from computer to computer, make sure that you have the media source of the project and the project file. And, in some cases, computer 2 might need enabled file to host the computer project 1.

Best wishes with your video editing

  • Sony HDR - HC9 problems with Premiere elements 9

If I have problems getting my HDV camcorder recognized by Elements 9.

When setting up my project I choose the correct settings to my knowledge (PAL HDV 1080i 25) but when I go to import media from him he told me there is no connected equipment. It is found in the regular DV section but not in the HDV format.

When I set it up to be a DV project it has no image on screen when importing media (probably because it is recorded in the HDV format)

I am only using the trial version to make sure that it aorks all before you buy. I would like to use this software, because that's what I've used in the past, with older cameras etc.

Someone knows how to solve this problem, or what may be the problem?

You mentioned that Premiere Elements recognizes your camera when get you the DV camcorder media, correct? This means that your camera in the camera settings are on DV instead of HDV.

You can check this by going to the options in the menu of your camera, then switch to set camera and check the settings of the video recorder. It should be instead of DV HDV.
