How do we install the operating system on a new hard drive?
Hello
I thought all I had to do was use my recovery disc supplied with my notebook, but while the laptop was working fine for a few days there is now an error message when I try to load windows, something along the lines of "image error, check the Setup disk.
I did something wrong?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Thank you
Hey Buddy,
Installation on the new HARD drive is very easy. All you need is Toshiba Recovery disk and you must boot from that disk to begin the installation. Everything is done automatically and factory settings are restored to the new HARD disk.
It work?

Have a Dell system, caught a virus and it has really messed up the PC. Recently, it got worse so I tried to reinstall the operating system with the Dell disks. It wouldn't work. So I bought for Windows 7 Professional, it will not be installed. My first question when installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system? Because this does the same as the Dell disks, is to take what is on the hard drive and put it in a folder called windows old, is not formatting the HD. When I boot the disk, it shows the installation of files then open windows and start the installation. Before he could finish I get an error missing or corrupted files. Tried several times now, windows will still not open. Any suggestions? Once while trying to install the pc crashed with a blue screen which is one of the reasons why I have reinstall the OS, he started to plant a few times. I don't remember all the details on my PC, but its 4 years, triple core coprocessors, ram 8 GB, 500 GB HD. At the same time just after all this started in Jan. I had also improved my 3 GB to 8 GB memory. I bought the Dell memory for my system. Since the crash, could there be a problem with these new memory chips? Last night I tried to disassemble each and reinstalling it, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Before I tried to reinstall the operating system, the pc was see the concert 8.

Disconnect any other (additional) internal hard drives and external USB devices.
Look for any loose hard drive power or cables SATA, graphics card or other power cables.First run Memtest86 +:
It runs from a floppy disk or CD and should eliminate or confirm if one or more of your memory
sticks are bad or the values of the SPD in the BIOS are correct.
Let it run for as long as you can: 2,4,6,8 or several hours (at least 3 full passes), so no errors at that time then your ram is OK.

Install the operating system after replacing the corrupted hard drive Asus q500a
The hard drive on my Asus Q500a is bad (he had checked the repairman). They told me that I could replace it (it will just keep failing until at last it dies just) but I have to re - install the operating system. The laptop comes with Windows 7 and I upgraded to 8 when it came out (I think). I don't have a recovery disk.
How can I replace the corrupted hard drive and re-install the operating system?
If I need to buy Windows 8, where can I find?
Would it not easier that I left the repair shop handle it?
Thank you in advance.

bought a windows 8.1 operating system that came with a disc disc 32-bit and 64-bit. I have installed the 64 bit on an Hp drive, but the laptop has problems I can transfer to another Hp system?
Hello:
If it were a commercial version, yes you can, as long as you remove the PC you use currently on the operating system. You will need to activate the software using the Microsoft automated phone activation system.
If it's an OEM version, not you won't be able to install it on another PC.
The product key does not in all cases.

I need to find the path where I can download the installation files inorder to reinstall the operating system by formatting the laptop now.
Communicate with the computer mftr. for replacement media. Legally, they must give you a way to reinstall Windows. XP MCE was available as an OEM ("Original Equipment Manufacturer") product and in addition to having a TechNet/MSDN subscription, I know of nowhere hand, you can download it legitimately.
