  • How will I know if my Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 or x 86?

I have a 64-bit computer, but there are files on the C drive for Program Files and Program Files (x 86). I have questions on this topic, but do not actually need to know, so far. I'm trying to restore my backup files in when I upgraded Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium. I discovered an additional file/application had to be downloaded to achieve this, but unfortunately I do not know that you choose. x 64 or x 86.

    I have a few questions:

I chose Custom installation because I wanted to wipe my hard drive and reinstall just some things. I just discovered that a file was created on my computer as "old computer." If she was going to do this, why did I have to lose a day and 17 discs, backup files?

When I am able to restore the backup, I can choose what get-restored or am I stuck with everything? I think I deleted everything I didn't until I did the back-up, but just in case I would like to be able to choose what is restored to my computer.

I have a ton of papers of college in the end so I have to get my MS Office Suite restored to this computer, so if someone could help me quickly, I would really appreciate it.

    Thank you!!

It depends on which Bluetooth stack you use.  If you use Windows to configure your Bluetooth device, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883259

In my rather old Widcomm Bluetooth utility, there is a box in the "Accessibility" tab that says 'Other Bluetooth devices discover this computer.'  Access the Bluetooth configuration utility or via the Panel control, either by right-clicking on the Bluetooth icon in the system notification area (near the time).

    Hello

You can't reinstall Vista on a recovery partition you have installed another operating system

    read this:

Solve a common problem of recovery.
If the original operating system is changed to a non - Vista OS, the Recovery Manager cannot be launched either office or by pressing f11 at startup. You can use the recovery disk to restore the computer to the original state of Vista. If you are using a non - Vista OS, you can use a third-party partition management program to recover hard disk space.

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

you say, that they will not!

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

I lost my disc of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OME. Can I use a disc of Windows 7 Home Premium Family Pack 64 - bit with my product key to make a re-install?

My father still has his Win 7 Home Premium Family Pack disc left, would that be a problem using it.
I lost my disc of OME, but I got the product key on my PC, so I still have that.
Or if there is another way to re - install Windows without a disc?
    Kind regards

    Hi Peter,.

Yes, you can use the same product key when reinstalling windows.

Note: If you are facing a problem while activating, I recommend you contact the factory system since you are using an OEM computer.

  • How do I upgrade/switch to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OF Windows 7 Home Premium 32 Bit?

I noticed that my laptop has 64-bit capabilities. My processor is AMD Athlon Dual-Core QL-60 1.90 GHZ. Can someone give me detailed instructions on how to move to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit? Also, I have 2 GB of RAM, and I don't know if I should get another 2 GB for the transition to work. Thank you. ~ Mystery.

@LVTravel my laptop came with Windows Vista installed, but last Christmas, I installed Windows 7 Home Premium. It actually came with 64-bit disk, and the activation key.

I understood the part when you say that I have to reinstall all my programs basically. I'm not sure what you mean by data files, they are available when I insert the backup? Where can I insert the disc to backup at all? My question is, how to restore these "data files"? Also, sorry for all the questions. :)

    ~ Mystery.

Data files are the files that you create with your programs such as movies of documents, spreadsheets Excel, Word, photographs, etc.  If the files have been copied on the device to backup using Windows Explorer you can just copy them to the refurbished computer.  If you used a backup of some program you type then need to use this program to put the files back on the computer.  Some backup programs will create an image of the drive hard and if you do not select the data files only you could possibly replace your 64-bit operating system installation.  I would recommend that you get your cousin to ensure that data is backed up and the restore is performed correctly.

  • How to display Chinese characters in Windows 7 Home Premium?

I see Chinese characters very well in my browser, but all I see are boxes instead the characters for the programs on my computer (running Windows 7 Home Premium). What I want to know is this: is there a way to display Chinese computers in windows?

Before I am flooded with a bunch of useless answers telling me to install the "language pack", I must repeat: I'm under Windows 7 HOME PREMIUM. Yes, I tried going to Microsoft Updates and download the language pack. Unfortunately, I can't see the link for me to download the language pack, since I am running Home Premium, but in operating systems, the ability to see the other languages has been included. In other words, just because I'm running updated the operating system compared to some of the older operating systems, I don't see another language, unless I pay update.
    Seriously, Microsoft? Seriously?
Also, I have in fact look around here to try to find a solution to my problem. Unfortunately, no one ever really answered it. Because the only problem here seems to be a complete disregard of the user and the will to pull as much money on Windows users unhappy. Windows, that is why your stock is lagging. And why I must say that you are unable to many ways to Apple. But if there is a solution, please, by all means, I'm willing to change my assessment.
    Sincerely,
A frustrated and unhappy Windows user.

Well, the answer you don't hear or see is the only solution.

    Take or leave.

Note: Multilingual User Interface Pack MUIs are available in Windows 7 ultimate through Windows Update as optional updates. They are not installed automatically. If you are using Windows 7 Enterprise, contact your system administrator for more information about installing additional languages.

Follow the steps mentioned below to get additional languages.

    (a) open Windows Update by clicking the Start button. In the search box, typeUpdate , and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update.

    (b) in the left pane, click check for updates , and then wait while Windows searches the latest updates for your computer.

    (c) if updates are found, click on Select optional updates.

    (d) select the MUI that you want, and then click OK.

    (e) click install updates.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
