How will I know if other people use my internet?

We have a vacation spot, we had not been for some time.  When I turned on my computer, it just put me in WiFi without entering the password.  It is password protected, but it was not obliged.  I don't know people in the complex have used my private WiFi.  Y at - it a simple way I can check this.  Ours is a private line, we have installed, so am a little confused, as to how someone else got in there...

Most of the computers will save passwords for WiFi. I did have to enter my WiFi password on my computer since the last time that I changed it. Thus, the fact that you have to enter a password may mean absolutely nothing.

You have a complex password on your WiFi network? The router must keep logs. See the documentation for your router how to access it.

Next time you leave your holiday home, turn off the router before you leave or to suspend the service from your provider.

I have a HP Pavillion DV7 Windows 7 & would like to buy headphones wireless instead of the smaller earbuds that came with it.  How do I know if I can use it as most of the sites such as eBay requires your PC to be Bluetooth compatible so that their specific work wireless headphones.  How will I know if my phone is bluetooth compatible?  I searched what little paperwork came with it, but don't know where else to find this information & don't want to buy headphones which doesn't work on my laptop & end up having to return them.  I am not very savvy PC so I'm sure that somewhere in the software there are some information about it, but I don't know how or where to find it on my laptop.  I could really use the skills of a person to solve this dilemma bit I'll have too simple as it may seem to most of you, the experts there, but for a "newbie" like me, it's all Greek to me!

Please, can someone help me understand what to do or where to find this information.  Is somewhere in the control panel?  I'm just at a loss about where to find this kind of information on my own laptop & feel like a true dummie here, people!  I just want to be able to listen to stereo to my Netflix movies & other programs I have on my laptop with a nice set of headphones but I need to be sure everything I buy is compatible with my laptop.

Thanks to someone out there who can help me with what may seem like a trivial problem, but for me it's a mystery!  I need help badly!

    Hello Sam51

According to the data sheet for your computer it has not built in the Bluetooth adapter. Fortunately, there is another option, there are devices called Bluetooth adapters that fit in one of your USB ports. Newegg sells them at a reasonable pace, but you can also buy them from most electronic stores may be in your area.

Please answer as soon as possible.

  • How will I know what GPU is using my laptop (with a portable Dual Graphics)

Laptop: HP ENVY 15z j100 (custom)

    Hello

I have a custom 15z j100 and there a 2 GPU built in the CPU (APU) and another of discrete (Radeon 8750 M 2 GB) and I use mine for the play of light and I was wondering if there is no way to know if my laptop using the APU or the 8750M for games. If so is there anyway I can disable the other and just use the 8750M?

    Thank you!

    Hello JRD02,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you want to know what graphics driver is used, and whether or not you can disable a specific. Go into Control Panel, then Device Manager. Go to your display adapter section and right click on the one you want to disable, and then select "disable."

In this way, you can disable what you do not want to use, and you know who is running! One stone two birds

  • How will I know which patch to use

I know that its either 8200 or 64-bit to stop pc crashing

Also, in addition to the explanation of André, patches untested quite widely to bring safe available for download on Windows Update or Microsoft Downloads.  You need a Microsoft Support person to determine that the patch applies to your situation.  If it doesn't you are emailed a download link and a password.

  • other people use our internet connection, what can I do?

I set it up to be pass code protected. then I had to do a system restore and now people are on my internet and hit me. I forgot the access code, it does not give a prompt for forgotten passwords. I thought that the restoration would also restore the empty password. Ugh... what should I do now?

    Hello

Check with the router manufacturer for instructions on resetting the security on the router. Change the SSID and
Password for external users are unable to access the router. If there is a lot of users on the system
the SSID (name) and the password can leak, so you have to change them as often as necessary.

Check with your router manufacturer and their forums because they usually have great information.

Better to use WPA/WPA2 security if they are available and you can hide the SSID that will help
help others to see the network (note on some routers more hide the SSID)
causes of connection problems and if they find out the name he is more useful).

  • How will I know if a running Instance of Internet Explorer 10 is 32-bit or 64-bit?

    Hello

I'm running Windows 8 Pro Upgrade of Windows 7 Ultimate.
My taskbar to desktop has two icons for Internet Explorer, it is labeled "Internet Explorer", the other is marked "Internet Explorer (64-bit)".
However, when I check the properties or the other of these two shortcuts, by clicking on the button 'Open file location' takes me to the name and the following path:
    "C:\Program may Explorer\iexplore.exe.
If I understand correctly, all the executables in the "C:\Program Files" are meant to be executable 64-bit, while all the executables in the folder "C:\Program Files (x 86)" are supposed to be 32-bit executables, so so that it would seem that both of these shortcuts are for 64-bit executables.
However, when I run Internet Explorer to one of these two shortcuts, by clicking on "help |" About Internet Explorer"gives me a pop-up dialog box that contains the following information:
    Internet Explore 10
    Version 10.0.9200.16384
    Versions of update: RTM (KB2718695)
    Product ID: 00150-20000-00003-AA459
"Install new versions automatically" is CHECKED
Copyright (C) 2012 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
There is no mention of "64-bit" in Internet Explorer started from one of the two shortcuts.
Now, I just tried a little experiment and created two different shortcuts for Internet Explorer on the desktop of Windows 8.
I called the first of these shortcuts "Internet Explorer (32-bit)", and it's an explicit shortcut to:
    "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Internet.
I called the second of these shortcuts "Internet Explorer (64-bit)", and it's an explicit shortcut to:
    «C:\Program may Explorer\iexplore.exe.»
I then started Internet Explorer from the shortcut of "Internet Explorer (32-bit)", clicked on "help |" About Internet Explorer,"and got a dialog box containing information identical to the above information.
Then I took out the "32-bit" version, then began "64-bit".  By clicking on "help |" About Internet Explorer,"gave me exactly the same information again, with no mention of '64-bit' anywhere in the dialog box.
Does anyone have an explanation for this behavior?
Is this normal, or I found a problem
    ?
The reason I ask is that my program antivirus tech support site States that the latest version does support not entirely Windows 8 and some of Internet Explorer installed by the antivirus program add-ons don't work with the version of Internet Explorer 10 Windows 8, but others do not, but only in the 32-bit Internet Explorer version not the 64-bit version.
Is the antivirus program: Kaspersky PURE 2.0 v12.0.2.733, which is a version updated to make it at least partially compatible with Windows 8.  It is noted that a new version, Kaspersky PURE 3.0, updated in order to give all the features of Windows 8, it is not yet ready and should be published at the beginning of 2013.
Now, I'm having a problem with a particular module of Kaspersky PURE 2.0, which includes an Internet Explorer add-on, and who, according to Kaspersky Support, is supposed to be compatible with the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 8.  However, this module does not work, and I need to know what to say Support Kaspersky on my version of Internet Explorer, when the dialog box 'About' is to confuse me information.
That's why I need to know how to say definitively what version of Internet Explorer is running at any given time.
Thanks in advance for any help, advice or suggestions.
    Best regards to all,
    Christopher (Chris) Souter
    (Sydney, Australia)

One is the version of the user interface window 8Modern = 32-bit - the other desktop version of Windows 8 + 64 bit

  • How will I know if an adjustment is in use?

    First Elements 14.

I select a video clip, then at the top right, I use Adjust > color > Vibrance > I click on one of nine thumbnails > the clicked tile shows a highlight that surrounds > in the display window, I see the clip change. Then I work on several other clips.

However, when I go back to the original item > select > Adjust > color > Vibrance, none of the nine thumbnails display a box to highlight that surround the thumbnail I selected previously. How will I know if my original settings are actually being used? Since none of the thumbnails are highlighted, I don't know anything.

    Thank you.

If you click on the "show more" link, you will see cursors indicating the setting.

  • How will I know if my Airport Extreme has the latest firmware?  And (not related) how to change the password used to connect to my network?

I think I bought the latest version of Airport Extreme.  It is the unit which is rectangular, is about 6 to 7 w., etc.  I have some basic questions that I do not understand:

    1. How will I know if I have the latest firmware for this device?  I read a few posts that make it sound as if it was just automatically updates.  Is this true?

    2. can someone tell me how to change the password used to connect to my wireless network?

    Thank you very much!

    Chris

If a firmware update is available, AirPort Extreme flashes orange.

The most up-to-date version of the firmware is 7.7.3.

You can see what version you currently have the following on your Mac...

Open Finder > Applications > utilities > AirPort Utility

Click on the image of the AirPort Extreme

    Look for the Version

If the new firmware was available, you will see a button update here

To change the wireless network password...

Click on edit in the window smaller than you watched just to check the firmware version

Click on the Wireless tab at the top of the next window

Go back / change the wireless password and enter a new password

Do the same thing to check

Click Update at the bottom right of the window and give the airport a minute full for restart

How to stop messages from Skype that suddenly appears on my screen when other people use my computer?  using windows 8, but I can't control these messages (sometimes very) distracting to appear?

    Hello

If you are allowing others to use the computer, set up a new account for each user.  They would then not be able to display your desktop or Skype messages.
