HP 15-g020dx: card Wifi Upgrade
Hello
I have a HP laptop: Wndows 8.1 (64-bit)
Product number: K7W82UA
Model No.: 15-g020dx
Serial number: (deleted content)
My question is:
Can I switch the wifi card to use a standard Wifi 802.11 b/g/n card, a 802.11ac/b/g/n wifi card?
In the affirmative, please can you me which 802.11ac/b/g/n wifi card would be an HP upgrade Compatible?
Thank you.
USB dongles usually come with a small minidriver disc but they usually just use a common Broadcom or Atheros chipset for which Windows will probably provide the driver and it will be plug-and-play

My ASPIRE V5 - 552P card WiFi Upgrade
Hey guys.
I have an Acer Aspire V5 552P - X 404 with Windows 10 x 64 instaled. I am trying to replace the card supplied with the laptop (Atheros AR5B22 PCI-E) wireless with a card that has AC wireless cabability I found on Amazon (Azure Broadcom BCM94352HMB/BCM94352 PCI - E https://www.amazon.com/AzureWave-Broadcom-BCM94352HMB-BCM94352-867Mbps/dp/B00JY6X9HM). I recently tried the Intel AC-7260 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E7QGHE6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and although the map fit perfectly and the antennas installed very well, my laptop wouldn't start windows, it just sitting there with a blank screen. I assumed it was something to do with the motherboad is is not compatible with the Intel wireless card. I updated all the drivers on my laptop for the recent ounces and tried many different things to obtain Intel to work, but they all failed.
If anyone knows if the AzureWave Broadcom card work? Thanks and sorry for being a noob. I DID do some research before this announcement.
Here are the cards Wifi what acer says will work.
Liteon 3rd WiFi 2 x 2 AGN + Broadcom BT4.0 20702 43228 + (2 x 2 WiFi 43228 AGN + BT4. 20702 DB 0) NC.23611.003
Liteon 3rd WiFi 2 x 2 AGN + BT4.0 Atheros WB222 NI.23600.103
Foxconn 3rd WiFi 2 x 2 AGN + BT4.0 Atheros WB222 NI.23600.102
Foxconn 3rd WiFi 2 x 2 AGN + Broadcom BT4.0 20702 43228 + (2 x 2 WiFi 43228 AGN + BT4. 20702 DB 0) NI.23600.100
If you want AC, you'll just have to try Wifi cards until you find one that works. Acer do not use whitelists in the bios then it will be just a compatibility / driver problem.

Just in case you've seen my other question, this is not a repetition and is for another laptop.
Looking to update my wireless card in this laptop, but want to make sure that this laptop does not have restrictions on white list of the bios on wifi cards.
Model: DV7 - 4248ca
Product #: LG535UA #ABC
This laptop has the restriction of white list of the bios on the wifi cards can be used? If so, where can I find a list of cards I can use?
Yes, there is a whitelist on a dv7-4000, and here is the list of cards it will support:
See p. 24-26 of the manual here:
Cards compatible wi - fi must not only be the right chip but a real part of HP with HP part number.
Atheros AR9280 adapter WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n 2 x 2 580101-002
Who is the best on the list:
Unable to find one in the United States, but they are cheap and inexpensive to ship.

I plan to update my card wifi bluetooth & 802.11ac, but kept coming in different sites mentioning that my laptop is probably limited to only the specific wifi due to a white list cards in the bios.
Where can I find this white list? Where can I find the list of wifi cards that works in my laptop DV7-7115nr?

Hello
DV7-7000 Intel based models of the series is no longer the white list. I think that AMD laptops don't have it too because some people have tried Intel 7260AC on AMD machines and it sort of work. It caused problems, but the system did not reject the incompatible card. I would use any card decent AC, but not Intel.

Pavilion 15-n200ss: update to card Wifi
Hi, I want to upgrade the card wifi realtek to one that has the 5 GHz conection, I don't know if my laptop can be upgraded to for example Intel AC 7260 or one that has 5 ghz
See your service manual. It seems that Intel Wireless-N 7260BN 802.11 bgn 2 x 2 Wi - Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo adapter will work. Part number 717384-001 replacement (google this number to check availability).
Look on the Dual Band Wireless-N adapter section for further discussion.

Envy TS 15 + 15-r03nr: 15-r063nr recommended wifi upgrade
The OEM WIFI card is only capable of 2.4 GHZ so even if it is listed as b/g/n, I can't use n because my router is 5 GHz n mode what is the recommended 15-r063nr wifi upgrade?
Your service Manual:
Initially proposed wireless cards are indicated on page 3, and all are 2.4 ghz N cards. "N" is delivered in version 2.4/5 ghz and 2.4 ghz. Your laptop doesn't have a white list, so you can actually install any wireless card on the market.
See page 61 of the manual for instructions. This is not an easy task and will put security at risk.
If you want to go forward, I suggest this card to install:

Q190 Wifi Upgrade - help?
After having upgraded the HDD on my Q190 to an SSD, the next update, I'm considering is to change the card wifi Realtek RTL8188E PCI - E for a 7260 Intel which has dual band AND bluetooth support.
http://www.Intel.com/content/www/us/en/wireless-products/dual-band-wireless-AC-7260-Bluetooth.html
It is probably a long shot - but did anyone done this before?
Intel providing the map in 2 versions... new PCI - E type for ultrabooks M.2 and former HMC format... does anyone know what format uses the Q190?
Thanks for any answers in advance.
See you soon.

Pavilion dv6 Notebook: card WiFi and RAM update
My WiFi is not able to go as fast as the speed that I pay the cable company. I tell myself that if I pay for it I would be able to go that fast. How can I tell what will work in my notebook? Same question as the RAM. Currently I have 4 GB and would like to go as far as I can.
Please tell me what I need to know, in layman's terms, to buy what I need.
Thank you!
Hello
Your computer is a HP Pavilion dv6-6112nr laptop PC:
http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02996687
1. WiFi: your machine was built around 2011 so the wifi upgrade is out of the question. You can use the USB dongle if you wish.
2 for the RAM: your device supports 16 GB max (it has 4 GB from the beginning). Please see page 66 of the following manual for part number. You can buy HP or elsewhere.
http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02842252.PDF
The manual also shows you how add/replace RAM. More manual:

What are the cards WiFi are Equium A60-692-compatible?
Hi all
I have a Toshiba Equium A60-692 (model: PSA67E-001001EN). It has a wifi, lid at the rear for a wifi card, but I can't seem to find a list of anywhere where wifi cards are compatible. Someone would be able to provide me with a list of compatible cards! Some people said that the Toshiba Equium A60-692 does not support a Wifi but as there is a sign for one at the back I guess that it is wifi ready! In the connectivity for the Athros Wizard, he says also there a 1394 connection, but it does not have a card.
I found a few on ebay and I want to know if they will be compatible:
(1) Toshiba 802. 11a / g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card - Netzwerkkarte, Mini PCI - 802. 11 b, 802. 11A, 802. 11 g, PA3298U-1MPC
(2) Toshiba WLAN Mini PCI PA3300U-1MPC 54 megabit 802.11 g/b
(3) TOSHIBA WLAN MINI PCI 54 Mbps 802. 11a / b PA3273U-1MPC
(4) Toshiba PA3300U-2MPC card WiFi Kit 802.11 g 54 Mbps NEU
Thank you for your time and I look forward to your responses!

Hello
If s said Atheros has a connection 1394 so I guess this means that the firewire.
The IEEE 1394 mean the firewire connection available on this laptop.Anyway, the WiFi network is not available and if you want to use WLan technology on your laptop if you use the WLAN USB key. It is the simplest way to connect to the wireless LAN.

Hello again
I went to the Intel site... and there of nothing like RUF in conection with any of their wifi cards...
I don't know what to do now... other people suggesting to Flash the bios, so you can completely remove the white list, but I don't know how to do either...
I want really to hold own/quick wifi ac card to work on my laptop, but it seems that the mission impossible.
Why is it so difficult?
The FRU number is Lenovo from restriction by changing the card wifi of their system. There are members who have found maps with numbers of RUF in Ebay. However I don't know if it will work in your case. Indeed, it is difficult to replace the wifi card in units of Lenovo.
Options that you can take:
1. ask your BIOS modified. You can install any card without the FRU. However, it is risky because the bios could be destroyed.
2. use a USB wifi dongle. There is no restrictions for these devices. And it's also cheap.
3. look for the wifi with a FRU number card in Ebay.

Using the card wifi Intel N5300 T420
First post.
The card wifi Intel N1000 on my T420 just broken and I have a T400 sitting there for years. I wonder if I can use the wifi card in to work with T420 T400.
The card wifi T400 Intel N5300's is a full-size PCI-e card
The card wifi T420 is intel N1000, it is a half-size PCI-e card
In T420, there is a position near the site of the ram to the back of the portable computer, which can operate with a PCI-e size. Is it possible to intall the Intel N5300 here? Or that there is WAN only?
Thank you
McDull
It won't work.
