The OEM WIFI card is only capable of 2.4 GHZ so even if it is listed as b/g/n, I can't use n because my router is 5 GHz n mode what is the recommended 15-r063nr wifi upgrade?

    Your service Manual:

    Manual

Initially proposed wireless cards are indicated on page 3, and all are 2.4 ghz N cards. "N" is delivered in version 2.4/5 ghz and 2.4 ghz. Your laptop doesn't have a white list, so you can actually install any wireless card on the market.

See page 61 of the manual for instructions. This is not an easy task and will put security at risk.

If you want to go forward, I suggest this card to install:

Speed, according to Intel, 2 x 2 AC 7265 could reach the theoretical limit of 867 Mbps, while the AC 3165 1 x 1 433 Mbps

In practice that is close to 'true' 5 GHz is AC 7265

  • 4010nr spectrum 15 HP: 4010nr spectrum 15 HP Wifi upgrade

    Hello

I would like to know if there is an option to upgrade the WIRELESS card on my laptop. Currently it is stock adapter Intel 6235 BGN. Is it possible to install Intel Wireless 3160HMW 802.11ac ?

As I remember, there is a sort of 'white list' of compatible cards... This one will work? or shall I seek another specific model?

    P.S

Searched all over the internet, no info found. Would be useful if HP publishes compatible HW for their products, upgrades would be easier

    @Tardis40,.

I know that all frame numbers, originally used in my laptop.

I am currently looking for those, who are supported as a replacement/upgrade

The question is to know that it is possible to upgrade wifi without making manual "adjustments" to the BIOS and disable the compatibility check (which is not a desirable solution)

    [UPDATE]

INTEL 3260 AC adapter - seems to work correctly (cannot test AC in fact, given that no available home router). At least - it works with N, BT works too...

My conclusion - it IS POSSIBLE to upgrade, however the wifi adapter should be for HP (adapters, from Lenovo, Asus, etc. only will work for sure)

  • HP 15-g020dx: card Wifi Upgrade

    Hello

    I have a HP laptop: Wndows 8.1 (64-bit)

    Product number: K7W82UA

    Model No.: 15-g020dx

    Serial number: (deleted content)

    My question is:

Can I switch the wifi card to use a standard Wifi 802.11 b/g/n card, a 802.11ac/b/g/n wifi card?

In the affirmative, please can you me which 802.11ac/b/g/n wifi card would be an HP upgrade Compatible?

    Thank you.

USB dongles usually come with a small minidriver disc but they usually just use a common Broadcom or Atheros chipset for which Windows will probably provide the driver and it will be plug-and-play

After having upgraded the HDD on my Q190 to an SSD, the next update, I'm considering is to change the card wifi Realtek RTL8188E PCI - E for a 7260 Intel which has dual band AND bluetooth support.

It is probably a long shot - but did anyone done this before?

  • F9M06UA: AC wifi upgrade for the product number: F9M06UA TOUCHSMART HP ENVY 17-J185NR NOTEBOOK PC

Y at - it an option to upgrade wifi AC for the TOUCHSMART from HP ENVY 17-J185NR NOTEBOOK PC / PN F9M06UA?

    You are the very welcome.

Yes, with one of these cards, you will have bluetooth.

I prefer Intel products, but the MCB card should be fine also.

I bet, too, that you can install the Intel 7260 AC map better, even if it is not on the list.

    Hello

I need to upgrade the card wifi on my x60s (1704-5lg) for 802.11n. Could you please answer me, what parts (Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN?) and what numbers FRU will be compatible with my ticket? I can't find this info on the lenovo site.

    Welcome to the forum!

Outside parts, you first need a modded BIOS.

    Lots of good info here:

  • A WiFi upgrade on Tecra M10

After reading a recent article in PCPRO he mentioned about changing the map you wireless laptop faster to has anyone done this and if so I would like to know the following things:

    (1) how and it requires
    (2) how was the replacement and what model
    (3) what is the situation with the guarantee and the firmware.

    Concerning
    TM8

I have a few questions for you:

    What M10 you exactly (M10 - xxx)?
Maybe is Intel WiFi Link 5100AGN WLAN card inside?
If so, what standard you want to use to make it faster than the N standard?

  • Pavilion dv7-4180us: dv7-4180us wifi upgrade

My dv7-4180us has a Broadcom Minipci wifi card bgn and gets only 72 Mbps on my home network. I am running agn + ac on my network. I understand that the wifi options are limited by the white list in the BIOS. I've probably lap by going with a USB adapter, but I would have preferred an intern. I have a Dell E6500 with Intel Centrino 5100 card that connects to 150-200 Mbit/s and I would be happy with this speed on the dv7. Which wifi compatible cards for my dv7 will give you the best performance of wifi? I was going to get the Intel Centrino 1000, but it tops out at 150 Mbps, which is also claimed max for the Broadcom card I already have.

In fact, my computer BIOS is dated in 2011.

Looks like my best bet is one of them:

    Intel Centrino 1000 802.11b/g/n WLAN module 593530-001

    4322 Broadcom 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN module 582564-001

The two are alleged to be 802.11n MIMO 1 x 2 with connection speed up to 300 Mbps.

I just bought the Intel 1000 for $6.00 + free shipping. DV7-4000 series system a traction. Even if this does not work I am not much.

    Thanks for the reply.

The wifi only Xoom uses the Mac address and not the serial number for registration, unless something has changed in the last three days. Using the serial number will generate an error message, so you'll know whether you have entered the correct number.
