    Hello

In my opinion, you should follow specification not Intel and Toshiba. S Toshiba of info is based on own tests and facts.
So, depending on the specifications of Toshiba for the GM45 Chipset it is clearly written:

    Min(on Board) wheel capacity - DDR2 800 MHz 0 MB / 8 GB max
    Type of extension of memory - DDR2 800 MHz 1 GB/2 GB/4 GB
    Type of module - SO-DIMM

So if Toshiba write about 800 MHz modules, you must use the modules to them and not faster.
You may be able to use faster too, but they do not work with the maximum speed, but not going down to 800 MHz.

If you want to use max RAM amount use recommended and tested 2 x 2 Go DDR2-800 (PA3669U-1M2G).
Indicated as compatible RAM, 4 GB DDR2-800 (PA3670U-1M4G).

  • Question about upgrading RAM on Satellite P100-423

    Hello

can someone reassure me I'll buy the correct RAM and the best for my 2 Satellites. One is the P100-423.
The other is Satellite Pro P100.

    (1) can I use modules of PC2 5300 DDR2 SO-DIMM 200 pin - 667 Mhz on both computers.
I want to buy chips to 4 x 1 GB (all the same), so both will have 2 Gig ram PC.

    (2) I saw the bullets above with 533 Mhz, but told me I can use or 667 Mhz. Is this correct?
667 Mhz would be faster and better is not it?

    (3) some chips are also designated PC2 - 4200 - instead of PC2-5300. Again, I can use either?

    (4) Finally, I always thought that it was better for if adapt to 2 memory chips to live the same size - that is why I want to use 2 x 1 GB chips.
    Yet, I was recommended to mount 1 x 1 and 1 x 2 GB in each pc.
I know that IE a total of 4 GB is theoretical only 3.25 GB is possible.
But asymmetric training will offer much greater performance on balance training 2 x 1 GB. ?

Thank you very much for all the advice offered

    Robert

With the help of RAM slower is possible. I have another laptop to work with the iso 4200 5300. It works ok.

However, using the exact speed is better because it gives the best performance. Your system calendar is set on those memories.

However slower modules, but more RAM still will give you better performance.

3G seems to be the max for Vista-32. The imbalance is obviously not optimal, but I expect that the performance is better with 2 GB.

    Hello

I have a SP4600 and because I love this machine, I want to give him the chance to stay with me - but unfortunately, it will only work by increasing its performance...

Is anyone here has made some experiences in upgrading a SP4600 more than 512 MB of RAM?
I know that this machine uses PC100 SD - RAM that is available up to 256 MB.
But someone has tried successfully to put in PC133 memory? And if so, to were the limit?

And more: what about the upgrade of the rest, for example, the CPU or the whole motherboard?
Currently, his heart beats with 700 Mhz (Celeron). Would it be as easy as just another graft?
Or would it be easier to exchange the whole motherboard?
I've never done anything like this before and I'm not sure how the rest of the system can react on these interventions, in particular because the we-board-video and sound on board...

I would be delighted if someone could give me some positive feedback on these issues...

    Hello

You can only use the memory 100 Mhz modules because the FSB is limited to 100 MHz.
If you use 133 Mhz modules, they will work only at 100 Mhz.

You can upgrade the satellite Pro 4600 until 512 MB (2x256MB)

Other devices such as the CPU or GPU are not extensible and the motherboard may be replaced only with the same motherboard

Finally, you should know that the laptop technology is a little different and you can't compare it with any desktop computer. You can update some parts such as the memory or HARD drive, but that s all the

  • Question about upgrading Ram on a Satellite Pro A200

I want to buy an internal memory of my A200 Satellite Pro Mod no, PSAE1E, but I can't find my model in the drop-down lists, what memory do I need, I want to switch using two sticks of 1 GB memory, at the present time, I have two sticks of 512 MB installed.

    Hello

    Compatible modules are: * DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) 200 - PIN SODIMM *.

As far as I know all the A200 series laptops can evolve until * 2 GB *.

This means that a memory would support module of RAM 1 GB max.

As the previous user have already said, the Kingston modules are not bad.

I also use it in my book and so far, the modules are ok.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR ANSWERS!

    Hello

You can upgrade your laptop up to 4 GB of RAM. The compatible RAM 2 GB module has PA3513U-1M2G part number. I heard that the problem in recognizing/3 GB should only be solved with SP1.

Upgrade of RAM do not negate the warranty valid. It is also described in the manuals page 123 s user document. Check it out.

  • Question about upgrading RAM in Equium P200

Are there disadvantages to the insertion of a 2 GB module (one of the 2 slots left empty) instead of insert two modules of 1 GB (so using the two slots).
Also, can I insert two modules of 2 GB 4 GB total to give me?
I have an express chipset Intel (r) 945. If I can, I should update the bios?

Thank you in anticipation of an answer.

    Hello

aren´t there are disadvantages - just install 1 x 2 GB module, if you hesitate. Alternatively, you can install 4 GB of RAM, but you won´t be able to use all of the 4 GB due to a limitation of the operating system.

To learn more about the limitation of 4 GB, see this post:

  • Tecra M3 - questions about the RAM maximum and graphics driver update

    Hi people,

I have a Tecra M3 (Variant FBCF with the Geforce 6600 w / 128 MB) and I have two questions that I hope someone here can help me with:

    (1) what is the maximum amount of RAM that I can install here? The manual says 2 GB (2 x 1 GB), but I do not see why the laptop would be paralyzed this necessary way, cause as far as I know the 915G chipset can handle 4 GB of RAM. If anyone knows definitively what?

    (2) the latest drivers from nvidia for XP are 2005. As most of you probably know, nvidia systematically more than past performance with versions driver and adds compatibility with some games that end up in trouble. The real driver from the nvidia site does not install because it says that it cannot find any compatible hardware. Can't Toshiba even a pilot updated annually? There is a driver of 2007 for Vista, I can't believe that if they did, they decide refresh the XP one while they were to him. Any chance of their audience on this here? I could force the nvidia.com driver to install, but I don't think that it's necessarily a great idea.

    Thank you!

    Hello

the maximum amount specified for this machine memory is 2 GB and 4 GB not but you can try it with 2x2gb modules.

With regard to your graphics: Don t use the nvidia driver since it is not suitable for mobile graphics chipsets and has no timing in the driver that is needed to run flawlessly.

I'd rather you to view laptopvideo2go and download some drivers here. :)

    Hello

your machine can be upgraded to a maximum capacity of 2 GB main memory, which means:

to extend the memory to the limit of what the machine is capable of, you have to put 2 x 1 GB DDR2-S0DIMM modules with a frequency of 533 Mhz into the two slots of your machine.

I propose the following brands: Toshiba, Kingston, OCZ

  • HP Presario CQ60-211DX: Question about adding ram

My moms HD took a dump and I'll replace it and update the ram.  After defining and entry model information site, she came back with a couple different options.  He says that I can use PC2-5300 or PC2-6400.  The PC processor is a Celeron 585 2.6 single core with a 667 Mhz FB.  As I understand it, requires PC2-5300 667 Mhz FSB of the processor?  (This is what I guess I)  PC2-6400 runs at 800 Mhz FSB?  I just think?  And what advantage would I using the PC2-6400 on the 5300 with my current set in place?  He said that the two are compatible and they are at the same price.  Help, please.

    Thank you

    Ricky Brown

Your a chipset GL40, which culminates in the DDR2-667. Also known under the name of PC2-5300 (same thing). So you can install DDR2-800, but it will run at the same speed that is 667 mhz DDR2-667. If they are both the same price get the DDR2-667. DDR2-800 is generally a bit more available and a little less money, believe it or not, but apparently not where you found it.

  • Satellite L50 - A - 1 5 - question about max LAN speed

    Qualcomm-Atheros AR8171/8175 PCI - E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30)

In the specifications it is said that this network adapter might work on the speed of the LAN 1 Gbps 1000base-t.
But the max speed that is displayed on my system is 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX.
    Why?

    System: _
    Toshiba Satellite L50 - A - 1-5
    Windows OS 8.1
    Driver version 2.1.0.21
    Qualcomm-Atheros AR8171/8175 PCI - E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30)

You're right, the network adapter. Atheros QCA8171B supports networks: 1000BASE-T/100Base-TX/10Base-T

To use the range, the router should also support the 1000BASE-T.
    Did you check that?

In addition, you can change the LAN settings in:
    Device Manager-> LAN card-> properties-> Advanced tab

Here, you should check if 1000BASE-T option is selected and chosen.

I also recommend you check the BIOS settings because as fat I know some LAN function can be enable/disable in the BIOS
