HP 255 G4: 10 applications reinstalled / settings Windows is back after a reboot
Hello
I just bought a HP 255 G4, which comes with Windows 10. I find that when I remove some pre-installed Windows 10 applications and make a few changes to Synaptics (more precisely, to turn on scrolling with the touchpad) and restart or stop/start the laptop, applications are reinstalled and the changes in my settings are reversed. I can live with the reinstallation of applications, but the parameter being back is very annoying. Is there a way to avoid this?
See you soon,.
Tony
Hi Tony,.
Try the following.
Hold down the Windows key and press R
In the run box, type regedit and press enter
In the registry editor, navigate to the following
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Install
Inside, look for a key named DeleteUserSettingsOnUpgrade
If it is present, right click on the key and select Edit
Set the field data of the value 0 (zero) , and then click Ok.
Close the registry editor.
Make the Synaptics setting changes you need in the usual way and save them, and then check if they are now kept after a reboot.
Kind regards

I will be able to reinstall my windows if necessary after the end of support for Windows 7?
Original title: windows supports
Last year, I bought Windows7 Home Premium and it works well so far. My question is after January 2020 (after the end of support) I will be able to reinstall my windows if neede? Also if there is no microsoft activation problem help me right here? Also even if the support of the application ends with its suppliers I will be able to download mse, it's to say & essentials of windows from the microsoft Web site myself since the automatic update is not available? or I'll be forced to buy Windows 8, 9, 10 or 11 at this time? Sorry people I know that this issue is too early and not be worried right now but I love windows 7 and I want to run for life so is this possible? Thanks in advance.
1. Yes, you will be able to reinstall Win7 using the disks provided with your computer, the rescue disks, you have created and/or the hidden restore partition.
2. where support for Win7 purposes, take in charge ends (for example, activation problems).
3. There will come a time where the current version of Windows (Live) Essentials is not supported in Win7 - even if your currently installed version of Windows Essentials may continue to be supported for some time.
4. by the time for purposes of Win7 support, chances are THAT MSE is no longer supported.
5. No, you don't will be not "forced to buy" a new version of Windows (assuming that Microsoft is still for sale).

Anyway is to get Windows 7 back after installation of technical preview Windows 10.
Okay, so I was using my computer and going to many and a friend sent me a link to the thing windows 10 technique (I would say is wonderful and I look forward to be interrupted). In any case, I read the fine print and all that came with it, but I don't understand the part where it says that any other OS (in addition to the technical preview) would be wiped because I thought that I would check out and then switch back, but I apparently missed it. Is in any way to get Windows 7 back or am I stuck? (It's on my laptop, not my main computer but I use it a lot). I have to re - download Windows 7? A lot of help would be appreciated. Thank you

It would help, but here are the flaws:
1. hold down the ALT key and pressing F10 does not work, (repeatedly pressed F10 more than 10 times all holding the key DOWN Alt on the side LEFT)
2. my COA sticker is dissipated so I can't do anything with it (that the entire paragraph is useless for me unfortunately)
Idk what to do, I don't have a recovery disk because I was told it had already been taken, but it wasn't so much what I live only with Windows 10 technical overview?
I see that you have changed now your original Question here.
Please do not do this; but rather to include new information in a response later we

As Windows 7 Starter is preinstalled on your laptop, you now have these choices for relocation purposes
I advise you that install Windows 10 could destroy this recovery by pressing Alt + F10.
You can communicate with the gateway and ask them how reinstalling Windows 7 Starter...
You need recovery disks form them like you do not have the COA sticker with the product key to this topic.
Normally factory the manufacturer of product key is used for this and is part of the process.

In regard to the upgrade to Windows Home Premium from Windows 7 Starter, unless you have the product key, we can not help you with this.

Program compatibility - settings do not save after a reboot
This is a weird question and something ive never met.
I think this applies to a game app, its more to the control panel and the data of the program.
For more information, I'm running a fresh install of Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit with all the updates, excluding SP2.
I have the package of Command & Conquer The First Decade of the EA game. RA95.exe application (which is on red alert) took me to run in 256 colors, high resolution turn off and disable the composition of the bureau and the game graphics is displayed correctly.
However, once I restart, the settings that I applied to the executable file are deleted and I have to check again.
Is stored in the registry the compatibility settings? If so, I considered (if it has any sense) to find the registry key and change the permissions of 'SYSTEM' to make it impossible to write about this one key.Moreover, the application is NEVER being updated the file itself remains the same, unchanged.
Someone point me in the right direction please. Thank you!
Hey,.
I love the game too much I think it's a problem between the conflicts within the graphic video apllciations card installed and game... Try to create a new account and play the game from the new account, it should do the trick...

How to enable Windows Defender back after getting the error 0x800106ba
could you please tell me how to turn on windows defender after getting the error 0x800106ba windows vista, thanks
If you have the following AV, antivirus, programs installed, close your Windows Defender. Purpose of these AVs have their own advocates. 2 defenders on the same machine will create conflicts.
Bottom line: it's ok. It's normal.
List of AVs which will stop Windows Defender:
Norton
McAfee
AVG
Microsoft Security EssentialsIf you don't have AV programs above, here's how to restart Windows Defender:
Start button > in the search box, type Services > press the Enter key > scroll to find Windows Defender, click on it >...
topic status , it must be said... Has begun
under Startup Type, it must be said... Automatic
If it does not say that, right click on Windows Defender > click Properties >
in Startup Type, click on the pointer to the right and select automatic
to the service status, click Start
Click OK when finished. -
I installed Windows 8 Pro on my machine (Core i5, 4 GB Ram, 1 GB 6850 Radeon Toxic, 1 TB HDD)... I'm happy to use it except for one of the major problems that is search.
I can't find the files on my HARD drive! Applications, the settings option does not appear under the search option in the charming bar. In Windows Explorer, there is no search option. If I go into the right corner and go to the research, I can get just the weather, bing, store, music, video, finance. There is no search option, settings app that appears in other windows machines 8. Also, there is no search bar in Explorer window next to the address bar.
How can I get Windows 8 to my files them, applications and search parameters and also get the search box in Windows Explorer?
Yes. I contacted support and counsel really ruin my station with some rookie mistakes very until he was found. Basically, the solution was to re - install the search options in Windows by going to programs and features / turn on or off windows features. Once he did that options appeared in the search. But not before he has installed antivirus software freeware to scan my stations for viruses that took its logmein software that it has been detected as a threat how it decided to call my house at 02:00 once he realized that he was disconnected by its own hurt... And these guys are their professionals assigned to help people.

How can I reinstall my windows vista Home premium 32
Mr. Michael-thanks for the reply and help... but I need more... I decided to reinstall my windows vista family 32-bit premium, now I work with vista full... like I said u before I think it is not legal...
pls tell me how can I reinstall it on the site because I do not have adisk (I have the old product key that come with my laptop to Vista Edition home premium)
my lap top is Toshiba...
Thank youhttp://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/home.jsp
Toshiba support
Contact Toshiba and ask them to send you a set of recovery Vista disc/s.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
Then reinstall Vista with them.
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
See if you still have a recovery Partition on your hard disk to reinstall vista home Premium.Try this and see if it works:
Toshiba Recovery:
To access the recovery partition Toshiba, powering the laptop. Press 0 (zero) key and turn on the laptop. Keep holding down the zero key until the TOSHIBA logo, which is where you should start to type the zero key repeatedly. Stop if the device emits a sound signal or when the TOSHIBA logo disappears. The screen should light up * MODE of RECOVERY of HARD drive * for a fraction of a second, and then load the Toshiba Recovery program directly from the hard drive.
Note that this clears all data and reload all the software factory default. Be sure to back up all your important personal data beforehand!
Or borrow a good DVD (not Dell, HP, etc.) Vista.
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.If you can borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD(not a friend's HP, Dell recovery disk!), here's how to clean install it:
How can I reinstall my windows if I don't have my installation cd?
Windows defender problem
Hello! I have a problem! My windows defender is down and I can't do updates so I want to reinstall my windows vista Home premium oem but I don't have the instalation cd. How can I reinstall my window. My windows is genuine, but in the past, I had a nasty virus that destroyed my windows. Pls help
Hello
Here are the different ways to reinstall vista
Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it
they do it for a nominal cost of $
also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought
you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer
Ask them of the exact key sequence
or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc
Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer
they contain all versions of vista
This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed
