HP 8-1401

Recently got a HP 8 1401, but it does not load past 95% then tracks down very quickly. Been on it 5 minutes to post this andiit down 5%.

I let it go for nothing 3 times (previously found advice on forum) but this did not improve anything.

I'm on Android 4.2.2 using the latest updates from the HP site.

Any thoughts?

Hello and welcome to the HP support community!

Battery life is directly related to how you use the device.  The biggest consumers of battery are the screen and radio (Wifi, GPS, and BlueTooth) links.

Turn off all radios when not not required.  Lower your brightness on the screen and use a short delay to turn off the screen when the is not necessary.

Here is a link to a post at the beginning of this article which explains how to extend the life of the battery:

Save the battery charge.

    Hey @Mitzee ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

    I understand that the Wi - Fi on your HP 8 1401 Tablet connection is intermittent.

    If you have already performed a factory reset and the problem persists, I suggest to try the tablet on another network. I don't understand that other devices work on the same network but network is not quite as simple as that. All devices (even if it is exactly the same product) communicates with the router differently and independently.

  • How to connect a keyboard to a 8-1401 HP Tablet?

    I wonder how I could connect a keyboard to my HP 1401 8 tablet.

    I bought a wireless (bluetooth) (mark Anker) keyboard, but then I realized that I obviously do not have compatible Bluetooth on the tablet. Is it possible to use a bluetooth dongle adapter (if so, which?) to my Tablet compatible bluetooth, so that it works with the keyboard, I've already bought? Or is there a workaround using WIFI to connect the wireless keyboard? (If so, how?)

    If not, what do I need connect a wired keyboard? I think a USB OTG cable that fits the micro-USB port to a classical USB port? And any particular type of keyboard should I consider for my HP 1401 8 Tablet?

    Thank you!

    (The love of my printer HP Officejet Pro, but I'm not finding HP technical support for tablets very... existing.) Tried three times for 'cat', and every time I have waited more than 15 minutes AFTER the display shows that I got an estimate '1 minute' to wait for a technician. What is happening with this? Is this typical or did I hit it on a bad day?)

    Hello and welcome to the HP support community!

    There is a message at the top of this section on the ability of the OTG.  HP 8 1401 is listed as able to withstand a keyboard via OTG, but a BlueTooth dongle is questionable...

    OTG Support Post.

    HP support for OTG was very hit & miss throughout their whole Tablet line, with more accuracy than hits.  If I were in your situation, I would seriously consider acquiring a tablet which had integrated BlueTooth if you want to use a BlueTooth keyboard!

    Adding a keyboard of version OTG would work - maybe you can return the keyboard Anker.

    (I type this reply with a slate of 10 HD & a former Palm BlueTooth Folding Keyboard keyboard!)

  • MX472 does not recognize the new ink cartridges 1401 code

    I recently had to replace my cartridges on my MX472 and immediately after the installation, I got a code on the LCD of the 1401 and several beeps. This code means ink not installed. Therefore, I cleaned the contact strips with alcohol, did a hard reset hold the stop button for 5 seconds, another type of reset hold the button stop for 2 seconds, then press and hold the power button by pressing the key stop 5 times. I also unplugged the printer for 5 minutes with the cartridges from the printer and plugged, reinstall the cartridges and still not received the error code 1401 Check ink back. I went and bought another set of authentic Canon ink thinking that the first set was defective and still a no go on the second set. My printer is ready for the garbage? Its only 6 months!  Someone at - it other thoughts or ideas? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Gregg1,

    Since you continue to receive the error after you perform the troubleshooting steps you mentioned, the printer will require maintenance.  As you bought the printer in the past year, it is still within the warranty period; Please call or write us using one of the methods on the page contact us for further assistance.

    First and last name to HP 1000-1401.

    AMD A68M chip-set with AMD APU E1-1500 with Radeon HD Graphics 1.48 GHz 64-bit. I just wanted to know that is there any high or more than 1.4 GHz processor taken in charge by this laptop. I want to at least 2.5 GHz. Please suggest me any 2.5 GHz processor supported by this laptop.

    Help, please.

    Here is the Manual:

    Manual

    If you look at the list of part of system boards, you will see that there is a different Board for each processor. This means that the CPU is soldered to the motherboard.

    It's the top processor of the page option:

    AMD E2-2000 1.75 GHz processor (speed of 1333 MHz memory, dual core, 18 W)

    Still a very low CPU and not worth the time and effort and money to upgrade.

    If you want similar performance to a 2.5 ghz cpu, that means buying a different laptop. The cost of replacing the motherboard on your would be close to the price of a new laptop, anyway.

  • Mounted on Linux HP PSC-1401 guard print a file strange book-catalogue

    2013 11-23

    I have recently acquired a very nice printer for all-in-one HP PSC-1401 someone and did not have the chance to use it with my Ubuntu Linux computer until today.  At first, I checked the scanner section and found that it works well.  But when I asked to print a small text file, kept printer printing a file that had clearly been stored in its memory

    a previous task.  So far I could not get rid of this strange file in any way.  What is more, Linux shows the PSC1401 printer as default printer as well as the text file I want to print.  But the printer does its own thing.

    Another very strange thing, it's that the printer prints even when USB cable is not connected to the computer, which is be a HP d530 table top.  Is the PSC1401 a machine wireless?

    Thank you very much.

    I would like to close this post I just solved my problem by running the following.

    sudo apt - get remove hplip

    sudo apt - get install hplip

    sudo apt - get update

    CD/usr/lib/cups/filter

    sudo ln-s foomatic-rip foomatic-rip-hplip

    I owe my gratutude to bryan641 to www.linuxquestions.org to the last two commands, which allowed HPLIP - 3.12.2 and so my hP printer to work in Ubuntu 12.04 1401.   Now all my previously reported problems are gone for good.

  • Correct Version of Linux Ubuntu 12.04 HPLIP HP PSC 1401 all-in-one printer

    2014-03-07

    I would like to know which version of hplip I should install for the HP PSC 1401 printer in Ubuntu 12.04. LInux revealed a vague 'General/Unknown error' at the end of my installation of hplip-3.14.1. Even though I haven't seen any system errors
    throughout my installation of hplip-3.12.2, the results have not been good; CUPS indicates that the foomatic-rip-hplip file is missing and my print jobs just get stored in the queue. In other words, there is no communication bewteen the printer and driver.

    Only hplip-3.12.2 is available from Ubuntu 12.04 and I sense that it is not the right version for my printer. Can anyone tell me what to do in this case, especially how to find and download the right driver?

    Is there a good way to un-install any version of hplip without doing it laboriously, especially if it is downloaded directly from HP? Thank you all very much.

    Julian Loui

    I just answered my own question by discovering a problem hplip - 3.12.2.  I found on www.linuxquestions.org that I can still use 3.12.2 as long as I link foomatic-rip to foomatic-rip - hplip after insatlling my printer.  This fix was given by bryan641 to the www.linuxquestions.org. My sincere thanks to Bryan.

    CD/usr/lib/cups/filter

    sudo ln-s foomatic-rip foomatic-rip-hplip

    Now all the old problems have disappeared and my HP PSC1401 works well.

    Any material support, regardless of your choice of operating system, is the manufacturer of the equipment.  This includes the software and drivers that allow him to communicate correctly with a given operating system, so that you and your applications can use.

    Since then you have (rightly) the printer all in one HP PSC 1401 <-- there="" is="" your="" support="" (that="" is="" a="" web="">

    It resembles what you need (in particular) may be the printer HP Deskjet and Officejet Software Suite (advanced imagery and product functionality) and driver -at least that's where I suggest you only start.  Download and install it.

  • Rep-1401 error, ora-01722

    Hello
    In report 6i, is to show the error 'Rep-1401, ora-01722' in the formula of CF_1FORMULA0005 below.

    And in the formula of the query "select count (*) into ra_customer_trx_all c.
    where nvl (to_number (interface_header_attribute1), 0) =: order_number
    and nvl(interface_header_attribute3,'') =: invoice_number; »

    Here the: order_number is the data type of number and interface_header_attribute1 is the Char data type.

    may be problem existing in this query. Then please suggest a solution to solve the problem. I can rewrite the query?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    function CF_1FORMULA0005 returns the number is
    x number: = 0;
    c number;
    Start
    Select count (*) in the ra_customer_trx_all c
    where nvl (to_number (interface_header_attribute1), 0) =: order_number
    and nvl(interface_header_attribute3,'') =: invoice_number;

    If c = 1 then
    Select nvl(doc_sequence_value,0) x ra_customer_trx_all where to_number (nvl(interface_header_attribute1,0)) =: order_number
    and nvl (interface_header_attribute3,' ') =: invoice_number;
    on the other
    x: = 0;
    end if;
    Nvl (x, 0) return;
    end;

    I think the problem is that

    to_number(interface_header_attribute1)

    fails when there are no numeric values in interface_header_attribute1.

    You can write a function stored in the database to convert float values to multiple values.
    These function must intercept conversion errors and return a default value appropriate (or null).

    You can then use your own function place buildin to_number function.
