HP compaq cq58-250sq: Hp Compaq CQ58-250SQ, upgrade memory.

Hello

For some time now, I was planning on upgrading my old memory to portable computers, is looking all over the internet after some information about the Mhz overclock and him downclock Mhz, or at least to see if it is fixed at 1 066 Mhz, if anyone of you have any information on this subject please do not be shy to share.

To avoid confusion, the name of the product is CQ58-250SQ.

Thanks in advance and keep up the good work, I saw theres a nice community here.

Hello

The specific technical explanation, is that the processor FSB (front bus sidel) having your laptop is that 1066 MHz for this reason even if installation compatible memory 1600 or 1333 MHz downshift automatically make 1066 MHz.

Another thing you should consider is that versions of Windows 7 32-bit (Home, Pro, Ultimate) support up to 4 GB of RAM, the exception is Windows 7 Starter, which supports up to 2 GB, for more than 4 GB necessary OS 64 - bit

  • Compaq 500 b (VS695UT): memory Compaq 500 b problem

I'm sorry to 'beat a dead horse' in this question, but I'm frustrated.

    1. I have improved my Compaq 500 b microtour Windows 7 Pro for Windows 10 Pro.  Everything went well, and I appreciate it.  I currently use two modules of RAM of 2 GB for a total of 4 GB of RAM successfully.

    2. for the purpose of "improvement", I thought that I would be upgrading or increase my 8 GB RAM, installing two 4 Go PC3-10600 (1066 / 1333 Mhz) 240 pin, non - ECC memory bars.

    3. Once installed, the computer refuses to start, and I have a black screen.  I put back the original 4 GB of RAM in the computer, and it starts fine.  I made sure I had the latest and more great BIOS downloaded and installed.

    4. I tried upgrade memory once more, in vain.  I tried to replace a SINGLE module (6 GB of RAM total) without success.

    5. the 4 GB RAM that was originally here works very well. (I'm typing on this computer now).

    6. my thought is that: "even if I'm still in Windows 7 Pro; "I should have been able to spend 6 or 8 GB of RAM", right?

    7. the computer originally came with 2 GB of RAM, and I upgraded to 4 GB.  I read some of the older posts, and I think that I made sure that I use the correct RAM.

    8. ALTHOUGH; When I run a single module of 4 Go PC3-10600, the computer won't start or run correctly. SO I'm looking for advice.  Any thoughts?

    Hello:

The quickspecs 500b at the link below show that the maximum memory is 2 x 2 GB.

    See page 4.

    http://h20195.www2.HP.com/v2/GetDocument.aspx?DocName=c04113766 & DOCTYPE = QuickSpecs & doclang = en_US & SearchQuery = & CC = UK & LC = in

Now the way I interpret the Intel G41 chipset info from the link below... it seems to me that on PC with DDR3 memory, the max is 4 GB, and for the PC with DDR2 memory, the max is 8 GB.

    http://www.Intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-briefs/G41-chipset-brief.PDF

Makes no sense to me, but I would say that since 2 x 4 GB does not work and the characteristics of HP say the max is 2 x 2 GB, and the way I read that Intel is to say, it's the reason why the memory does not work.

Your laptop has two DIMM slots. The maximum amount of memory, others have upgraded to 4 GB is. The maximum recommended by HP is 2 GB. The memory of replacement should be PC2-5300 667 Mhz, 1.8V

Here is a link to the memory at Crucial.com.  Only use the modules of replacement by major memory creators who produce guaranteed compatible memory modules to avoid the risk of buying incompatible modules.

    Hello:

You should be able to use all of the W7 drivers and software the HP 2000 t - 2A 00 on your model, except the BIOS and firmware files.

You will need to have a valid product key and license W7 as well as the installation media.

  • Compaq Presario CQ5500Y: Compaq Presario SSD upgrade

Original 500 GB drive HARD shows signs of failure eminent.

I cloned successfully the reader to a new 400 GB disk using NORTON GHOST.

(I know this drive is smaller than the original, but less than 30GB was used on the original)

Anyway, the new drive would not start.

Assuming that the problem may come from the BONES associated with the license, I ordered all of the Compaq recovery disks.

Meanwhile the recovery disk set arrive, I bought a 120 GB Sandisk SSD.

(Again, I know that the 120 GB SSD is smaller than the original 500 GB HARD disc that came with the computer, but I do not plan to fill even 50%).

Anyway, The Recovery Disc Set arrived and I tried to use it on the new 120 GB SSD Sandisk card.

The process seems to be okay, all 3 discs of the series seem to copy and then the computer restarts and a screen displaying the files fly across the screen from one folder to the other stays there forever.

I waited 15 hours and came back and I can still see:

Fly across the screen, files from one folder to another folder.

The drive activity light flashes, but of course, there is a problem.

    Some possible facts/related information:

The SSD is detected in the BIOS.

The good SSD checks, a "Smart" BIOS Diagnostics

I can't find anywhere in the BIOS to disable the AHCI, it only shows SATA or IDE.

Current Bios version is 5.5.5, and I couldn't find an updated BIOS anywhere.

Current memory (RAM) is 4 GB (2x2gb), which was an upgrade because the machine was purchased.

Can someone tell me please how to get beyond this problem?

    Greetings,

I use the Paragon Professional Disk Imaging software.

Try Macrium Reflect free. Disk cloning is also included in the free version.

  • Compaq Presario CQ5600F: upgrade to M2N68-(Narra6)

Hello. I have a desktop PC Compaq Presario CQ5600F which took a power surge. I use Windows 10 Pro and I'd like to update the Pegatron M2N68-(Narra5) motherboard M2N68-(Narra6). I saw some of these for the sale of the mobo. Can someone point me in the right direction. I'm trying to find the drivers and perhaps installation information. The motherboards I've seen are either used, rebuilt, or "other nine" with no accessories.

    Hi @stan7926,

Thank you for your participation in the Forums of HP Support! It is a great location to get resolutions and interact with experts from the community. I understand that you need information on an upgrade of the motherboard of your PC. I'll be happy to help you with this.

It's always a great pleasure to work with tech-savvy and technically customers sounds like you. Kudos to you for this. I am amazed at your technical skills and levels of technical knowledge.

First of all, the specifications are very clear on the HP website. It supports "M2N68-(Narra5)" with the drivers, BIOS and other updates available on the HP Web site. About the upgrade to M2N68-(Narra6), it may be possible, but before you buy the product, I would suggest that you contact a technician on-site that this motherboard is not listed by HP as a compatible Web site.

I thank you greatly for posting your question on the forums of HP and for giving us the platform to help you. You are a customer of HP and we greatly thank you for doing business with HP.

It is important that you are having problems with the bios and driver incompatibilities on the motherboard and windows 10 Therefore, it is recommended that you contact a local technician and check the compatibility of the motherboard before making any attempt to improve it. We cannot have the bios for it and corresponding drivers. Once again, you will need to visit the websites of 3rd party hardware manufacturers to update the bios and other drivers.

I hope this helps! Please let me know how it goes. If it helps, please mark this message as 'accept as a Solution. If you need help, let me know and I will gladly do everything I can to help. • Upgrade memory - Compaq Presario SR1630NX

Planning the upgrade on my HP - Compaq Presario SR1630NX memory. Before buying a product of memory, I want to make sure it is compatible with the Compaq. Hello

    JJM says:
I ordered the Crucial memory upgrade kit. Then will come the real installation. I'm a little tentative trying to change modules of memory because I've not done this before. Are there problems I should be aware of that I open the SR1630NX, find the motherboard and memory sticks, remove and install new?

    It's really very simple.

All it takes is patience and attention to the location of the index in the module and the game inside the DIMM slot.

Unplug the power connector from the power outlet.

    Open the case.

touch something metal in the case with your hand to dissipate static electricity from your body. I actually always use an anti-static wristband.

Press the tabs on each side of a module locking and it comes out.

use the thumb and forefinger on each end of a module and remove it carefully.

during the installation of the modules to place them in the same locations you deleted the 'old' of.

Search the index of the module tab and the tab corresponding inside the ALS DIMMt.

Use the slots on the inside and under the locking tabs guide to guide the module in the DIMM connector correctly

now, use your thumbs to the top end of the module for shake it gently in the DIMM slot.

you will know that it is in place as you feel / hear a click.

now check to make sure that the locking tabs are in place at the ends of the module.

Repeat the process with the other modules

That's all there is to it.

    Kind regards

    ERICO

  • Compaq presario sr5518f upgrade processors

First of all, I apologize if I do not write in the correct section.  A little new here.

in any case, I'm going to completely overhaul my Compaq Presario SR5518F.  I'll get a new graphic/video card, power supply, and processor.

Speaking of the processor, I have a question for someone who would know the upgrade of processors.

The specs of my PC (which can be accessed HERE) said I can move to an Intel Core 2 Duo E7xxx.  I'm looking at upgrading to an Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 processor which has close to 3.0 Ghz (2.8 to be precise) of the operating speed.

The question I have, is the Intel Core 2 Duo processor E7400 compatiable for my Compaq Presario computer motherboard?  I have never replaced or upgraded forever, and so I want to make sure I'm making the right decisions when buying upgrades.

I would appreciate your help or you guys could give me advice.   Thank you and have a nice!

As you can see from the following link:
