HP Compaq Dc7900: HP DC7900 will emit 5 beeps

I installed 250 GB second HD in my DC7900 PC, PC has no beeps and starts 5 times, I checked the connections again and pressed on all the memory, PC booted OK and works fine, problem seems to recudding when I open the case and touch cables, Rams watch firmly seated and well connected cables , I tried disconnecting the second HD I installed it but it is not the problem, otherwise PC works well and fast, I think the upgrade of ram 8 GB instead of 4 GB is present, if the problem is caused by the ram, I appreciate any help? Thank you.

Hello:

If the problem is not occurring now, perhaps reinstalling each strip memory fixed the issue.

I would not try again unless the 5 beeps happens again.

    Hello

I have a Tecra A7 and last Saturday he beeps 3 times, they were fast beeps. I tried to find out what this could mean on the Web site of Phoenix, but they do not have this information for a PCI, PnP BIOS only older BIOS... What it could mean?

After that 3 beeps, my computer has a problem where some of the data has been corrupted and windows could not start. I had to connect my HDD to another computer so that I could save the data that I had in it. When I plugged the system required for a disk scan and it found a large number of errors on my C drive and fixed a lot of them, but some of the data was lost...

In the average, then he had another behavior really strage. I turned on the computer, and nothing happened. The screen had no picture, it made the test do the dvd player and it still amounted to light the power on.
While he had this behavior, I removed the hard drive and it was the same thing, nothing happened...

I have this computer for about a month and I really treat him well, believe me... I guess he doesn't like me: P

Ah! Moreover, when I turned on the computer for the first time it asked me to set up the BIOS information, and without the battery, it could not keep this information. It fixed by assistance and they said that the problem was something on the battery which was not good. It was good for a while, but about a week ago, that he began to do the same thing again, only this time he was not always and it has nothing to do whith is batery (which is always on). The only difference from the first, is that it retains the time and date information, but not the boot sequence.

I suspect it's something with the motherboard, but I would like to hear some opinions more...

    Hello

The fact is that if the machine beeps and nothing works, so there is a hardware failure.

If you wish, you can consult this useful post on beep codes:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=12252&MessageID=46355

However, in my view, this is a hardware failure and you should contact Toshiba service.

I plan to buy a bigger hard drive for my desktop and I would like to know if the "HP Compaq dc7900 Small Form Factor PC" can take a size of 4 TB HDD.

Maybe you can, but I can't say for sure.

You will be able to format the disk to the GPT so that windows to 'see' a large partition.

  • MacBook pro emits 3 beeps after upgrade memory

Hello... I am trying to improve my Macbook Pro 4 GB to 8 GB memory, however, when I start the laptop it emits 3 beeps, without loading the operating system and just keep it. I saw that others had the same question, but mine seems to be a little different.

The Macbook I have is a mid-2009 and OSX El Capitan.

I'm sure that's not on the Rams is not inserted properly or dusty slots etc. because when I try one of the new RAMs (4GB) with one of the old RAMs (2 GB), it works fine. In other words, I can pass it to 6 GB. But everytime I try 2 x 4 GB, it fails.

I've tried 2 different sets of 4 GB RAM, a couple was second hand, the other Crucial nine pair. They are 204-pin DDR3 SO-DIMM 1600 (PC3L 12800) Rams, which seems to be the correct type.

I already tried all of the various combinations of these 6 Rams (2 old 2 GB and 4 new 4 GB). The 'old' are still working fine. Any combination of 6 GB, regardless of the RAM use what slot, also works fine. Any combination of 8 GB does not work.

So, I know that the Rams are ok. Slots are okay. How I insert is ok. This machine is supposed to be expandable to 8 GB. I don't know what else can be wrong. When it's 4 GB or 6 GB, it works very well, even if a bit slow since I installed El Capitan, this is why I'm upgrading from memory.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

What is the model number of your system?  Go to Apple, about this Mac menu, more info, report system.  Tell the model identifier.

MacSales.com and crucial.com have to say the exact type you need guides of memory and they will tell you how you can really put in (Apple body tells you what they tested at the design/production, not what post-production has proved to be possible).  EveryMac.com also has lists of very good specifications on Mac.

  • HP compaq dc7900 cmt: need help to identify certain hardware in some tech.

    Good, good morning/afternoon.

Ive had trouble understanding this old pc that I found laying around. I decided it might be fun to try to update as a challenge for a bit of fun. However after getting the open pc intel core 2 duo cpu is not the usual device that allows easy removal of the cpu and looking more closely, it appears that the cpu is completely blocked to the motherboard. I find it odd that a cpu would be glued to the motherboard like that especially on a desktop computer with as much space as the CMT version.

I'd like someone just confirm that the CPU is not removable and also request that they tell me the motherboard installed in this particular unit.

Thank you very much and sorry for the inconvenience.

    Hello:

You can remove and replace the processor.

Here is the link to the repair manual for the dc7700, which will provide the steps to do so.

Want to watch Chapter 6, section 6.18 and 6.19.  Now the heatsink in your dc7900 seems different from that shown in figure in the dc7700 manual, but still, it comes off with 4 screws.

Remove the processor is the same in both models (6.19).

    http://h20566.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.Oid=3232028 & docLocale = en_US & docid = emr_na-c00771559

I can't believe that HP has no guard manuals for the dc7800 dc7900 or the 8000 Elite CMT.

  • HP Compaq DC7900 SFF - no support BIOS for USB keyboard/mouse

I recently bought a lease out vintage 2009 DC7900-Windows 7 Home Premium running. It has connectors from the motherboard and BIOS support for a PS2 Keyboard and mouse. There also card mother support for USB but apparently BIOS does not support a USB keyboard and a mouse. Y at - it a BIOS update that adds support for USB keyboard and a mouse?

    Thank you

Well, I found what seems to be the problem. My USB keyboard and mouse are connected to a KVM switch that in turn connects to the HP PC. The KVM cable provides keyboard and mouse via a simple USB connection. I have connected a second USB keyboard directly to another USB port, and as you say, the BIOS it supported. I then connected the USB keyboard and mouse for a simple USB hub and then to the HP PC, and BIOS does not recognize the keyboard once more. It would seem that the problem is that the BIOS of the PC HP does not support keyboard behind a USB hub connectivity. I have no detailed knowledge of USB connectivity but could guess that there must be a difference Protocol when I hub is in the Middle – obviously the PC must focus on a specific device behind the hub.

In the end, I think I'm stuck just keep a separate keyboard (PS/2 or USB) around for those times when I need to communicate to the BIOS.

I have another PC of the same vintage - a custom platform - and it handles the keyboard behind the hub very well. I wonder if all new PC BIOS handle this.

Thanks again for your responses - very useful.

I downloaded Manycam to security webcam and when I run on my Vista Business 32 bit Compaq computer it just runs for awhile and then it freezes - I tried emailing people Manycam, but they don't know what it is...

    Hello

First of all, you should check if the Manycam software that you got is supported by the operating system.  If so, then re-install the software can solve the problem. If the Manycam software is not supported by the Opearating system, download the version that supports the operating system of your computer.

    Kind regards

  • HP Compaq dc7900 Small F.: create a recovery disk

    Hello

I have a rebuilt computer that was installed originally windows Vista OEM. And then installed Windows 7 64 - bit has been renovated, but I can't find HP Recovery Disk Creator.

What should I do if will crash hard drive? Is possible download HP Recovery Disk?

    Thank you!

Not that you can do as Microsoft has pulled the plug on Windows 7 downloads.

Order HP recovery discs would only restore your Vista computer that was originally installed on it.

If you have a friend using the same exact version of Windows 7, you can use the installation disc, but make sure you only know your license key of Windows 7.

Or make a hard disk image to the top of your entire hard drive using a program like Macrium reflect free on an external hard drive.
