• Data Protector 6.11 access denied

  I have Data Protector installed v6.11, when I push on the drive agent Server installation manager/cell I get and access denied message. This only happens on Vista machines however. My 2003 server machine and the last 2 XP machines I left took very well installation. I found v6.11 patched and ready to go for vista and server 2008.

  Well, after looking and looking, I found the answer in the Manual Installation of all places.

  Information on the installation of HP Data Protector on an ESX Server seems rare, so I thought that I ask here...

  I want to only install the agent drive to do the backup of our ESXpress backup dumps. If we do not need to know how to integrate DP HP with Consolidated backups and Shell scripts (that there is a lot of info on the web on.)

  Then only how to install the disc agent and what Setup package to use for a 32-bit Intel Server? We use HP DP 6.1 running on a Windows Server.

  Someone out there who has done this and got it to work?

  Officially, we only support DRS, you can simply copy the files to your CUCM off the server and then place once you rebuild your ESXi, I need to be quite clear that even if this method would work, is not officially supported by Cisco. It would be the equivalent of a migration from one server to another without vCenter cold.

  You should be able to change the mode of the virtual disk without problems with the virtual machine off. The change should not affect the comments system at all.

  I wonder if someone can help me. My environment is Linux, and the Oracle version is 11.2.0.3.0. I'm trying to clone a database from one server to another by using a tape backup (no database). I implemented the appropriate TNS entries, so that the two systems can communicate. I created a password file and a PFILE in the destination server, and I started upward (NOMOUNT) of the instance.

  Initially, I tried the operation from the destination server; I received the error message such as: RMAN-06100: no channel to restore a backup or a copy of the data file 11

  Suspecting that the destination server have not may not be the level of appropriate access to the MLL, I tried the operation from the source server.

  I finally understood what was wrong with my approach. I had missed a bit in the literature: the definition of AUXILIARY channel should be the same as that used for the backup. Of course, RMAN normally does you not clear in its mystical error messages.

  We have a customer who wants to put a HP Data Protector Server Manager of the cell and the media on a virtual machine on 4.1 according to HP, the Manager of the cell is supported on a virtual computer. We would like to know if an HP MSL 2024 SAS attached library is supported by VMware.

  You mix auxiliary channels and auxiliary bodies.
  The auxiliary tasks are to maintain the rman repository, and you can't use them to restore the archives.

  In our case when we improve our database to 10.2.0.2 to 10.2.0.4 didn't us connect with the catalogue. After the upgrade of the database catalog in 10.2.0.4 we took over with the RMAN backup.

  You can take the RMAN backup without a catalog database.

• Portege M400 - how to remove the Protector Suite fingerprint data

  (1) Protector Suite 5.4 sometimes generated a crash of Windows XP on my Portege M400.

  (2) I followed the suggestion of WinXP and upgraded to version 5.8. Unfortunately, this way I lost the automatic access features to Web sites protected by (the online help 5.8 says that this module is optional, but I have not found how to install it).

  (3) so I uninstalled the 5.8 and put again on the 5.4.

  But I m not sure where it is placed

  However, as far as I know, you can use ONLY PS to enrol fingerprints.

  If uninstalling the software didn't help then use and clean the BONES and using a tool, for example, the registry CCLeaner.
