HP DC7100 CMT

I brought a DC7100 Cmt from ebay that I won't get until January, I got it because it was cheap and the spec seemed good enough to play older games like Counter Strike Source / half-life 2 / Dark Messiah Might and magic and maybe Morrowind Oblivion? The pc has a 3.00 Ghz HT Pentium 4 / up to 4 GB of ram and a pci-express slot. I have a XFX Geforce 8400 GS 256 MB Pci-express graphics card. I heard in some other forums because it's a pc of buissness it does'nt taken supported many graphics cards, so now I'm worried because too if I should get or try to get a refund?

Thank you very much

    Hello:

What graphics card you have in your PC?

You mentioned Aero, and you wouldn't get Aero on a dc7100 with the integrated Intel graphics card.

You'd only Aero, if you have a PCIe x 16 graphics card is windows 7 capable.

If you have the Intel integrated video card, I got something that will install the video driver, but you won't have Aero.

In addition, he will work for W7 32 bit.

So, please post back and let me know what video card you have in the PC, because if it's an add-on, one, I would need to know the manufacturer and model.

  • HP dc7100 CMT: updated BIOS for HP dc7100 CMT

    Hello

I have a Hp dc7100 CMT pc and I want to update its BIOS.

My BIOS version is v01.05. I run Windows 7 Pro on my pc.
I have the latest version of the BIOS (Ver. 2.15) for my HP, but I don't know how to do it.

I looked into it, but I don't get the 'image '.

Since I installed W7 on my pc I have 2 options:

-Create a update/restore the BIOS boot ROMpaq diskette.
-Create a update/restore the BIOS boot ROMpaq CD.

I want to use the firs (floppy disk) option.

Thanks in advance to 1 million.

    Hello:

What you do is get a usb floppy drive (if your PC lacks a built-in floppy drive).

Then, insert a diskette into the drive.

Download and run the BIOS file and it will prompt you through the steps.

The program actually format the floppy is bootable and transfer the BIOS files on it.

When it's done, you restart the PC, boot the floppy and follow the instructions to update the BIOS screen.

Now I don't remember, what if this program will run on W7.

You may need to run on an XP computer and then put the disc in your after that the BIOS update disk.

You can try to run the file in XP mode compatiblily so simply by double clicking on it does not work.

I need a video card for my hp dc7100 CMT.  I use this pc with W7 (32 bit).

I need recommendations for my problem.

On a side note, I would like to add the following: I want a video card that uses a passive cooling (silent video card).

    THX.

    Summary:

    PC: HP dc7100 CMT
OS: Windows 7 Pro (32 bit)

    CPU: Intel (r) Pentium 4 3.00 GHz
    Memory: 3 GB (dual channel)

    Recommended by the expert cards:

-Dell ATI Radeon HD 2400 (for 1 monitor)
-NVIDIA Quadro NVS 290 256 MB (for 2 monitors)

I use this card in my pc for 2 monitors. I have to say: everything went well without any problem to install the card.
I recommend this card to anyone else to use it in a HP dc7100 CMT.

How to install the video card (by Paul Tikkanen):

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/other-desktop-PC-questions/dc7100-graphics-card/TD-p/1919285

    Installing a video card...

Make sure that you first uninstall the current video driver. Go to the control panel and under the maps section, right-click on your graphics card and choose uninstall. (Remember to check the little box beside the text "remove/delete the driver").

Do not restart, just shut down the PC and unplug it.

Install the new card. Don't forget to plug the video cable of the new card.

Start the PC and it should automatically recognize the new card.

    Install the drivers.

    ----------------------------
Another thing... If your integrated audio system is disabled after the installation of the video card, be not alarmed. The video card comes with HDMI, which means it has a HDMI embedded audio chip.

After installing the drivers, reboot the PC, go into the BIOS and in the menu embedded devices, find the onboard audio setting.  It will be set to auto or off.

Change the setting to "Enabled". Save the setting it by hitting the F10 key, and once again, save the settings and exit.

On reboot, you should have your on-board audio back.

    Peace

    Hello:

    Yes, you can use V2.15A.

According to the list of revision, it was the last update of the BIOS.

As I said, you can run from your desktop if you are running windows XP and use the basic flash windows.

Make sure that your antivirus software is disabled and that you have only the keyboard, the mouse and the monitor connected to the PC when you Flash the BIOS.

    Hi Ryan,

Contact Crucial and Crucial official recommendation.  If you buy directly from Crucial, then they will stand behind their products.

Your first consideration should be Support HP or HP sales during the consideration of upgrades or replacement of memory. If you want to consider other manufacturers of the best way to avoid memory problems is to contact one of the leading manufacturers of memory. I would recommend that you try the tools of these manufacturers: Corsair, Kingston andCrucial. Once you have determined the DIMMs that you need, then contact commercial or technical support to check that you have selected the correct DIMMS. If you buy directly from manufacturers, then they will stand behind their products.

    Hello:

The video card is not windows vista or windows 7 capable.

I can give you the link for a driver that should allow you to change the resolution of your screen and select the graphics acceleration.

What you have not and will never have is Aero, unless you purchase a Windows 7 capable PCIe compatible video card with the model.

So, this gives a try if you want.  You must install it via the back door...

    1. download and run the laptop equivalent of the desktop video driver.

    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=447371&prodNameId=447348&swEnvOID=2096&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ob-47264-1

    2. you will get an error stating in substance that the operating system is not supported.

    3. close the error dialog window.

    4. go to the Device Manager and in the section graphics cards, click on your adapter VGA Standard.

    Click the driver tab.

Click on set to update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for the software' and navigate to the driver installation folder that was created when you ran the file.

This file is located in C:\SWSetup\sp34749.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected, and the driver should install.

Reboot and you should have a pretty decent screen now, just no Aero.

If you are not satisfied with my improvisation, you can get some good cheap used W7 capable video cards on eBay that will work very well with your dc7100 if you want anything fancy.  I have a few recommendations.

Otherwise, proceed again with a Radeon HD4350, that should work perfectly for this model.

    Hello:

Try to make your own Vista installation disc and see if you can get Vista installed in this way.

If you are in a fault light but rewarding, you can make your own Vista installation DVD so you can read your Vista on the PC 25-character product key.

You just download the 3 files you need on the link below and read all the instructions to create a Setup bootable DVD disk using imageburn.

Do not take into account the part of the text in the first screen shot about "extract the files in the folder of Vista."

The files were extracted already in this folder when you ran the X14.exe file by reading the text on top of the first screenshot.

The other thing I noticed is on the 4th page, where it shows Developer ID Microsoft Corporation. I had to type Microsoft Corporation in me, and then other codes already filled in.

When I went to compile the ISO file, ImageBurn gave a message on a WIM file, file and ISO, and if I wanted to burn it in a different format.

I selected no, make the ISO file.

It was not so hard to do. I burned both the disk of 64-bit and 32-bit disk in case I ever need them.

I tested both of them one my hp dc7100 CMT desktop PC, worked flawlessly.
