  I have a compaq presario cq43

  I am trying to connect it to an external monitor [my tv] I was never able to get the display on the TV, but with other computers laptops, I had no problem, I use a vga cable

  Once I connected the vga cable into the laptop, the screen flashes repeatedly making it impossible to view the display on the laptop [with still no image on tv] so I unplug the vga cable.

  I updated my video driver

  and tried different resolutions, televisions and refresh rates but in vain

  The repeated flashing makes me suspect that there is a problem with the connector on the PC (because it works on other PC using the same equipment).  Because it does not work on the other TV with this PC - which also tends to suggest that this is the connector also.

  I would say it sends to the service center of Compaq for additional tests.  Be aware that if the system is not under warranty - repair bill could be very costly.

  Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your 8440p and problems with start-up Elitebook. You get the error message is a hard drive error. Means that the hard drive has failed.

  If the computer is out of warranty, most computer stores can help you select a replacement hard drive.

  After upgrade 'OS X El Capitan' to "macOS Sierra" window only empty "App store" and page "Safari" made its appearance, no error message shows. store "iTunes" and "Dictionary" does not connect too.

• Thunderbird does not connect with the server

  Another recent problem is Thunderbird does not connect with the server. I don't know if sent mail will go out, but I know I'm nothing receive. My internet connection works well for FF or another browser. I checked my settings and they seem OK. I checked the default settings in Win10x64 and they are correct. Any ideas?

  Although windows 10 is new for us all. How do solve you. I have other solution with very similar issues.

  Thunderbird ran an auto update yesterday. Then it just stopped working. It does not connect with the Comcast email server.   The problem solved itself, Thunderbird has just started working. I followed the thread suggested by Christ1 and found none of it applied. No malware, no browser, no certificate error security block. I did, however, in Thunderbird, under Tools/Options/General uncheck the button for "When Thunderbird launches, show the Start Page in the message box." I do know that if this helped, Thunderbird still do not access Comcast mail for hours after that, even with several stops and restarts.

• Airport utility: green points on the AirPort Extreme & Internet; Mini Mac does not connect to the internet.

  Network preferences may be damaged.

  Open the Finder. In the Finder menu bar, click go > go to folder

  Type or copy paste the following text:

  / Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

  Click OK, and then move all files in the SystemConfiguration folder to the trash.

  Restart your Mac. See if that makes a difference.

  Your Mac will generate a new SystemConfiguration folder for you.

  Then open AirPort Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilitiies

  Make sure that both Internet and Extreme are green.
