HP EliteBook 8440p: white horizontal lines on the screen who retreat down in the minute
Hi again. I've already posted about this so there are pictures and a full description of my post a few days ago. In short, when the laptop was arrested or sleep for more than a few hours, it is white horizontal lines on the lower part of the screen that slowly fade completely down. The lines do not appear on an external monitor in dual mode.
I removed the screen twice now and checked / reinstall connections to the screen and under the keyboard. The problem persists. I flashed the BIOS a few days ago and the problem persists. The webcam, microphone and WWAN/WLAN are all in perfect condition and the computer works fine apart from this problem of screen work.
Until I drop the most money on this used laptop that is my only question at this point sounds as strictly a matter of cable/display on the screen? If it's a motherboard problem I would see other problems? If it is the graphics card goes wrong I would see other problems? As I said, the computer works perfectly once it is running.
Anyone has any useful ideas?
Hello
You can try to connect this unit to an external monitor to check if there is a problem with the motherboard or display
If the external monitor works fine, then there is no problem with the motherboard, only the display panel needs replacement.
If the problem persists in the external monitor, suggest you to update the graphics drivers and see if the problem resolves
I hope this helps

This means that the LCD screen of your laptop will have to be replaced to solve the problem.
External display display normal display shows that the solution to video display inside the laptop (integrated in the chipset or graphics module) is operational.

I SOLVED MY PROBLEM BECAUSE OF THE HELP I RECEIVED BELOW. MY ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS. BE SURE TO SCROLL DOWN FOR THE SOLUTION!
Please see the focus 2 below: I read all the posts here and of course I cleaned the printhead of many many times. It is almost the worst lines now. The printer cartridges are all full, and I also turned the printer on and off the power, etc... . Thus only line ACEs and calibtrated a bunch of times.
Is there anything else I can / try? Is there something else to clean inside and the dust that creates streaks? Doesn't seem wise to call and pay for this service.
None of my impressions with the graphics seem to be good all of a sudden and he is hurt and slow down my business – do I have to buy another printer?
Help!
Is the a page of print head cleaning blocks magenta and red lines? This means somehow magenta ink is not put on paper on these lines. Because this is not the whole of the region, it's not magenta ink came out. Must be on the printhead nozzles is obstructed or somehow blocked. It is display in the fine lines on the quality report page you have posted. Broke the thin vertical line shows the nozzles at these locations are not belittling inks.
If the clean print head does not resolve the problem, you may need to replace the print head.
The 8500 has 2 print heads, one for the black and magenta/cyan. This page show you more about clean/replace the printheads on 8500 a: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01615896
In this page, there is a photo showing the printhead with the wording: "nozzles - do not clean", it is because that manually clean nozzles could easily damage the print head and make things worse. But if anything the problem and replace the print head, you can try to clean the area of the nozzle with a fluffy, wet with warm water. But when a printhead issue, when the "clean printhead" functioin does not help, I strongly recommend to replace the print head.

physical crack at the edge of the screen. You must hang on to another computer to check. If it moves to the other computer, and then permanent physical damage. If is not on the other then video card number (don't look like that in my humble opinion)
Individual pixels may fail, but it is along the edge. Not repairable.

Horizontal line through the taskbar
Hi, I have a white horizontal line through my window in the task bar. I too, was a piece of editing and left the computer for a half an hour approximately. When I came back, all my video had disappeared, both in the project and the timeline. I send you a picture of him. This happened to someone else?
Thank you
Everyone sees the same thing on the field of fuzzy time code.
The good news is that it works fine even if it looks ugly.
Some users have had loss of similar things to what you describe.
Take a look at the events currently open to see if FCP X has moved their.
Also check your Mac for any active automatic system power activity. e.g. energy, App Nap management.

It has been very slow since the beginning. Then, the fan has started to be marketed all the time and now I see a horizontal line in the middle of my screen.
Is that what I can do before I apply for coverage?

ISAHello
I fear that the problem is related to a hardware problem m.
The internal display is affected or the graphics chip on the motherboard is faulty.
In both cases the hardware must be replaced
Therefore, you should get in touch with a partner service is available in your country for this problem
I hope that your warranty is validGood luck

Satellite L830 - horizontal line across the screen
All new Satellite L830 has a horizontal line across the screen.
What can be the cause and how can be fixed?
If the laptop is brand new it back as soon as possible and ask for replacement.
On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here, but it may be related to faulty display, especially if you can see from the first moments when the laptop is turned on.Don't try anything. Request a new one. If you can not new, contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They need to exchange the defective part.

Satellite Pro M10 - horizontal lines on the screen in different areas
Hi all
I hope someone can help.
My Satellite Pro M10 seems to suffer a display problem where I have horizontal lines on the screen in different areas.
It would be well for 10 minutes and when the laptop seems to warm up this problem begins, then shortly after
The laptop would crash and enter in a resolution of 800 x 600 16 colors or sometimes freeze.Graphic drivers have been resettled, and even a new installation of Windows XP from the recovery CD does not help.
A reboot doesn't solve what the same thing happens again and after one minute of use, so I thought it might be a video or cooling problem.
I changed the video card I had a spare part of my last motherboard hoping this would solve the problems, but the problem persists.
Perhaps a cooling problem? Or problems of motherboard?
The motherboard has been replaced twice, hoping that this isn't another mobo problem.Any advice would be great.
Thank you.
Hello
I m not 100% sure but to me it looks a bit like an overheating problem
Maybe the graphics card may not be properly cooled after a certain period of time and that's why these strange horizontal lines appear on the screen.I wonder how you were able to replace the graphics chip on the motherboard? :|
If I m not wrong not the chip is fixed and the replacement is very easy and difficultIt of always difficult to say what's maybe wrong without running several diagnostic tests in most cases this problem may be related to the defective chip or motherboard and so the following should be checked
Sorry, but that's all I can suggest.
Best regards from my friend

HDMI output on Qosmio G40 - horizontal line on the screen
I connect my Qosmio G40 to an 46F86BDX of Samsung LCD via HDMI. On all my films, when there is a shift, I see a horizontal line on the screen. Sometimes is in the middle of the screen, sometimes lower.
I tried my pc with another TV and a different cable, but the same problem. Someone knows the same thing?
Thanx
Hello
> On all my films, when there is a shift, I see a horizontal line on the screen.
If I understand issue you this horizontal line appears ONLY on and external TV and ONLY if there is some faster movements of the pic.
If so, then I think it has nothing to do with G40 Notepad.
I have read that those issues could be related to the new TVs LCD then to watch movies in high definition.I think you should read a few tests and reports on similar issues on LCD TVs
See you soon

HP 15 laptop: flickering horizontal line at the top of the screen
Hi, I bought this laptop 10 months ago and its been great until about a month ago. A month ago the hard drive doesn't work faster (Super slow r/w) and is noisy. 2 days ago a horizontal line at the top of the screen started flashing when I started the PC. Then I rebooted a few times and nothing. I finally found it flashes only when the pc is unplugged. I loaded 100% and it continues to blink. Update my display drivers did not help either.
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zJioGvs2Bg
In the video you can see lines flicker. When he started there was only one, but it has gradually increased to 4 sound at this time. Also, the line crosses the screen completely but is no longer visible to these 4 points.

It is a single horizontal line that appears to wrap the text what ever he is going through, around the other side of the screen. windows 8.1 upgrade was completed Monday, and the line began yesterday. The computer is stock, with a genuine copy of Windows. Please help I have runa small business, and this computer is invoked daily.

Hello again,
I could solve the problem with an updated graphics AMD HD SP60282 driver. The only horizontal line has disappeared since I updated the driver. Previously, it did not matter if I rebooted or the monitor kept awake, it never disappeared. Now everything works as it should. The driver can be found by searching SP60282 on the HP site.
Thank you!

The horizontal lines of the screen problems
Hello
Since I use Windows 7 X 64 on my T500 2241, I have problems with many small horizontal lines on the screen. The same one I have on an external monitor. With Win XP 32 bit, I never had such problems on this computer.
May that this problem is related to the video driver. I use: Intel Mobile 4 Series express chipset driver version 8.15.10.2302. I had the latest bios update for my computer.
Nothing helps. Y at - there a better idea?
Thank you very much
