HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G3: Two monitors for HP Elitebook Folio G3

I have a HP Dock Connector to VGA and Ethernet adapter (http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=G7U78AA & opt = & salt = VAC) I use to connect my laptop to an external monitor (HP ProDisply P221) and the network cable. Now, I want to plug one second monitor (an another ProDisplay P221) to my laptop. What are my options? I don't want to buy a full docking station. I read somewhere that a dispatcher VGA cable would not be useful, because it simply reproduces the same screen that you see on the first screen. I have an available HDMI port on my laptop. Can I use this port with a HDMI cable to VGA and connect the HDMI / VGA for the second monitor? This will give me a continuous (and NOT a dual display)?

Thank you for your help.

Hello

I don't know what is the HDMI cable / VGA you talk but HDMI uses digital signals, and VGA uses analog signals. You need a good converter to convert digital to analog. And my test without a good adapter/dock that takes supported multiple external monitors, you won't get far.

Kind regards.

    1. do I need 2 x HDMI monitors? A DP HDMI monitor to use with different socket or adapter as well?  If you do not already have the monitors, I definitel would get both of them with HDMI connectors.  You will need a DP to HDMI connector:

  • HP Elitebook 840 G1: Newbie Question: how to set up two monitors for HP Elitebook and Ultraslim Dock

I have therefore two monitors EliteDisplay E231 that I would use to set up a dual display screen. They have all two cables to VGA connection, but unfortunately the ultraslim dock has only a VGA port on the back. I tried to plug in the dock and the other to the computer itself, but that has not worked.

How can I go on the establishment of a dual monitor set up? Is this possible?

  • two monitors for HP Pavilion 500-007 a

I am considering buying desktop HP Pavilion 500-007 a little time. I already have two monitors TeamViewer, two support DVI - I and VGA I'm running just one of the monitors on a HP Pavilion dv7 laptop (laptop current ongoing died after 3 years continuous use).  The current system gives me two monitors to view, computer laptop 17 '' monitor and the Samsung 24 "monitor. I have also a 19 '' Samsung monitor with the same characteristics as the 24 "monitor.

I want to know if I can use both monitors Samsung on the new office at the same time with good results.

Both monitors have no HDMI, only DVI - I and VGA connections.

The new system, I would like to start the monitor 24 "using the DVI - I format and the same thing with a 19" monitor, but the specs of the 500-007 a give only 1 DVI-I have the graphics card or via a connection through HDMI, and then on the motherboard, it shows a VGA port.

What is the best: run 24 '' via DVI - I and the 19 "via VGA or execution 24" via DVI - I and get a DVI - I to HDMI converstion and run two monitors to the graphics card, or alternatively the 24 "on DVI - I and 19" on VGA.

I use photoshop for photo editing, as I do a lot of photography work. Videos etc are not a primary, or games, but as also older in order to use the 24 "to better on Visual acuity.

    Thanks Ailsa

This is the original factory specifications for the desktop HP Pavilion 500-007 a. According to the specification, this model has an AMD Radeon HD 8570 discrete graphics card that supports the use of two simultaneous displays. That this computer is equipped with a discreet graphics card, the video ports on-board integrated are disabled. The AMD Radeon HD 8570 graphics card has a HDMI and DVI - I output and can take care of two digital monitors or a digital and an analog monitor. The supported formats are HDMI, DVI - D and VGA (via a dongle, DVI / VGA).

    Please provide the model number of monitors you want to use with this computer. Two additional DVI - D and VGA monitors as you have indicated, here are some of the possible combinations of connection supported;

    BEST

    Computer > DVI - D cable > monitor

Technology > cable HDMI-DVI or adapter > monitor

    or

    GOOD

Technology > cable HDMI-DVI or adapter > monitor

Computer > adapter DVI / VGA > VGA cable > monitor

Is it possible to buy a splitter or upgrade the video card?

    Hello

First the split will not work. Based on the following specifications:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01950115

Your machine has only a VGA port, but it has a PCIe x 16 slot that is suitable for a new spare video card, please see the following discussion:

    http://www.TechSpot.com/community/topics/purchasing-a-new-video-card-for-multiple-monitors.183516/

and one more thing: your machine has only 220W PSU you need a higher power PSU when adding the video card and it is a big problem. My suggestion: using a USB video card may be the right choice.

    Kind regards.

  • Two monitors for HP Slimline s5-1540?

    Hello

I was wondering if my Slimline s5-1540 supports two monitors.  It has 2 DVI ports on the back of my Tower. I plugged a 2nd monitor additional DVI port and am get the type "undetected entry" message as if it is not plugged in.

Is there something I need to activate/unlock?  Or I need a new video card?

    Thanks in advance

The specifications on your slimline PC

Unfortunately, your slimline PC is not really what we call stretch. Due to its slimline format, the PSU is very difficult to upgrade over what is currently installed. The previous slimline PC was UPE which was around 160 Watts. The currently installed PSU is 220W. This isn't a sufficient capacity to support the upgrade to a video card with more power and two usable output ports.

  • Two monitors for Optiplex 3020 small format

I went with a Display Port-HDMI adapter and it worked perfectly. As soon as I plugged both monitors, the computer read and gave me access dual monitor without having me to do anything.

  • Two monitors for InDesign?

I'm afraid that this question is really here - but on a hradware site. However, since I want this for InDesign hopefully capture some experiences. Using Windows (XP64) and a Nvidea card I would like to add a second monitor for layout work. The Dell tech I talked to that assumed that I just wanted to extend my screen - IE distributed between the image a larger space. I had (and possibly a mute) idea that I would be able to have a full page Indesign on one screen length - so I could see what was going on in the text flow etc and have one view of the other closely so that I could edit and change. Would this work in InDesign or I am in the land of science fiction?

  • Two monitors for the HP Pavilion Elite HPE with a Nvidia GeForce GT420

I currently have a HP 2211 monitor x and I have no connection problem which, however, I recently bought a HP s2331a I have bad to configure the monitor because it does not recognize the monitor is there something I am missing or just may not know how to connect the 2nd monitor. Please help me.

Mike, thanks for the clarification and the model of the computer.

There is a DVI - I and HDMI port on the computer.  You probably have to use an adapter to plug one of the monitors.  The key is to ensure that the drivers and software for both screens are installed on the computer.  Otherwise, it will never work properly.

Also, here's a guide that should help you get properly connected.

    Good luck!

  • Two monitors for Inspection 3521

I want to connect two external monitors to my dell Inspection 3521, but have only a HDMI port.  How can I connect the second monitor?

If you want both monitors with the same image on each, you can use a muliplier/splitter HDMI.  If you want the monitors to display different pictures, you need a different system - this is a basic system, budget - not designed to do something like that.

    3. Can I use a DVI splitter with DVI-d port on the NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT to have two monitors?

    NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT

1.I have a HP Pavilion Elite m9060n desktop PC and I have my monitor connected to my computer using the NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT DVI - I port chart.  I want to use two monitors and on the back of the computer in DOS i/o ports, there is a VGA connector, but there is a black top, lid that States do not remove.  This means that the port is not available?

YES, the white cover means that the port / ports are not available. Most HP consumer computers automatically disable the onboard graphics when a x 16 PCIe graphics card is installed

2.i have also a port HDMI as part of the NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT can I use that and the port DVI on NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT to have two monitors?

    Yes, you can use the HDMI and DVI-channels simultaneously to support two monitors. Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion Elite m9060n. According to the specifications;

    1 - S - video *.
    2 HDMI
    3 - DVI - I (dual link) *.

Supports two displays at the same time

According to observers, you may be able to use your current configuration to drive two displays. You can use two HDMI screens with a HDMI and a DVI-HDMI cable. You can use two monitors DVI - D DVI cable with a DVI-HDMI cable. You can also use a monitor VGA and HDMI or DVI - D and VGA monitor with appropriate adapters and/or cable. Please provide the brand and models of two monitors for most accurate response.

Is it possible to run two monitors on a 8570w without a docking station. Connect a monitor to the VGA port and the other to display port.

I was able to get this to work. My 8570w has an Amd over-pants 7700, don't know if that matters. One is connected VGA other Displayport. The port monitor must have a custom resolution defined in the over-pants Control Panel. except that it works perfectly. More laptop screen no. Docking Station 2 24 inch Dell.

And thanks for the quick reply Provost.

  • Best graphics card for two monitors to Compaq Presario SR5610F

I have a Compaq Presario SR5610F.  I want to upgrade the video card, so I can run two monitors.  What is the lowest card cost that is compatible with this machine?  The computer has the PCI Express Slot.  It has only a power of 250W.  There is a card that can be purchased to upgrade the memory of 256 MB card, run two monitors and I must not change the power supply?  I have a high-end gaming card.

    Thank you

    MJCSJC1

Are what video connectors your monitors supported?  Most of the low-end cards have vga and DVI connectors, you should swing $30-$60.  If you are looking for dual DVI, nVidia has a 8600GT for around $100 but may need to get connector to power the card with your current diet.

  • Choice of a model of desktop Inspiron for two monitors

I didn't keep on computer hardware for some time and I found myself completely confused now that I'm looking to choose a new system that will support two monitors. It seemed simple at first, but now I'm a little worried that I'm missing something.

    In any case...

I am looking to buy a desktop Inspiron model relatively inexpensive which allows two monitors. What should I look for to confirm the system that I'm looking will support two monitors? At first I thought that I would need to have a discreet graphics as opposed to something like the graphics card intel integrated, but some of the things I've seen seem to indicate the onboard graphics on some of the tips Intel will do what I need.

I would mainly use for extended desktop just to be able to open MS Excel on both screens, but sometimes I wish I could watch my DIRECTV on one of the monitors (probably by logging into my DIRECTV account, as I do sometimes on my laptop).

Hoping someone can give me an idea here.

    Thanks in advance!

No, I don't say that all Intel adapters will work. The link I gave was a particular model Inspiron. Apparently the web page changed, because when I went back to it, the page was different.

    You buy a system with a card video of at least one of the monitors. Or, if you really want a cheap system, you can buy one that has only the onboard video and then separately purchase a USB > {video) dongle where {video} matches at least one port on the second monitor, for example USB > HDMI.}
