HP ENVY 17: Can I put my graphics

I'm not very good with computer harware and know what are the components, but I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade all aspects of my pc to give me a little more FPS in the high end games able to manage my laptop on medium setting well enough. My characteristics are (as copied and pasted specification of):

OS: Windows Home 64-bit 10

Processor: Intel Core i7-4510U CPU @ 2.00GHz

system memory: 12 GB

Slot 1: 8 GB Hynix 1600 MHz

Slot 2: 4 GB Samsung 1600 MHz

Graphics device: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850 M

Hello

No, you can be able to update only a handful of laptops (class workstation and portable games). You can't get a video card for laptops for you and me. I normally say: buy a new machine.

Kind regards.

I was told that it is not possible because the chip is attached to the motherboard.

    Or Nick

Unfortunately, the graphics card laptop cannot be upgraded. It is simply not possible due to the architecture of the laptop. Laptops are just different and you should know that only a few parts such as the memory or HARD drive are extensible.

You can try to use a card external chart like this for example:

But I m not sure if it s really an option.

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

Sorry for the bad news, but you operate in a misunderstanding.

Unlike desktop computers, laptops don't use cards "video"; Instead, they use video chips that are permanently attached to
two video modules, or to the motherboard for the laptop. These aren't replaceable parts by the customer.

    Good luck

    Hello again, sals8570p.

Looking through the document, again, I've noticed that the graphics card is switchable and is part of the chipset.
This means that you unfortunately won't be able to update the graphics card at all.

However depending on the game you want to listen to, upgrade the CPU which FOLLOWS may be interesting look in.

Looking at some points of the graphics card, it would appear that as you already have planned the graphics card which is causing the bottleneck in playing games, so upgrading the processor very probably will not have the desired effect you want.

By upgrading the processor you will get form a little better when it comes to graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 internal.
You can compare your current against the other two through Intel Ark.

  • Want DV7 7255 DX: Can I put RAM in HP Envy DV7 7255 DX

I have a HP DV7 want 7255 DX, and I look to updrade significantly the amount of RAM. I don't know if I can even update, and if I can improve, how much more I can put in. Here are the specs curent:

    Laptop product #: C6N73UA #ABA

Curent RAM: 6 GB DDR3 SDRAM (2 DIMM)

    Slot 1: 2 GB Samsung 1600 MHz

    Slot 2: 4 GB Samsung 1600 MHz

I would like to replace the very minimum, current 2 GB with a 4 GB key (the same as the current 4 GB in there), to have a total of 8 GB. I would also consider that, by replacing the two slots with 8 GB sticks for a total of 16 GB. It looks like my OS is fine with that, just do not know if the motherboard would be able to use it. (IE: I don't want to put in more can be used and only waste money on it, if 8 GB is the maximum).

I recently installed Avid editing software and it says I need a minimum of 8 GB to operate effectively. I also have Virtual PC installed to run a hidden player XP for old software that I still use, and I noticed a considerable delay in all that done in windows 8.1 while virtual drive is running simultaneously. I suspect that this could be also related to the not enough RAM.

Bottom line: is it possible to put the amount of RAM, and if so, how can I put it? Thanks in advance for your help.

I understand that in the certified modules like the original HP or Kingston, manufacturers already proposed this setting, so it's very unlikely for 16 GB hot much more than 6 GB original.

  • What can I put the RAM and the hard drive of a Macbook Pro 13 "2014 in a Macbook Pro 13" 2016?

The main logic of my Macbook Pro 13 "2014 card is broken, and it turns out that it will be much easier and just slightly more expensive, buying a new Macbook Pro that, in order to replace. I would like to set up my new Macbook Pro 13 "online in a way such that it is as cheap as possible, while always respecting the level of my former. So, if I could order one with the minimum of RAM and disk space hard and then put these pieces of my old in the new, this would be ideal. I don't know so much about it, and the question is: is it possible?

    -DDR3L 16 GB 1600 MHz SDRAM

    -Storage flash 512 GB PCIe

    -Intel Iris graphics card

I'll get to buy e new generation Mackbook Pro 13 "with:"

    -2.9 GHz i5 or i7 3.1 (I've not yet decided)

-RAM: Here I want to configure it with as little as possible, if I can just put the chips of the old in the new. Is this possible?

-Hard drive: same thing: if possible, I want to get the cheapest option and simply put the old in the new. Possible?

Thank you in advance to anyone who might take a few minutes to help out me! It would be much appreciated!

The RAM is not transferable, and the reader will be not as fast as the original of the newest computer; In addition, change it the warranty of the news of the computer.

Have you checked the settings in the Intel graphics settings?
Resolution 1024 x 600 is available in the settings of Intel?

The NB200 seem to support the INTEL 945GSE. Recommended to reinstall the graphics driver that you can download from the Toshiba driver page
A page Intel driver should work too
