Pavilion 550-a17c: can I put my HP Pavillion 550-a17c graphic to a Zotac GeForce GTX 960 Amp Edition

I want to update my graphics card in my 550-a17c flag, but I don't know if this card:

http://www.Amazon.com/ZOTAC-GeForce-DisplayPort-graphics-ZT-90303-10m/DP/B00SIOF8R0%3Fpsc%3D1%26Subs...

would be compatible, or if I can even improve the graphics at all. Help, please!

Hello

The short answer is without that your PC does not have a slot for a PCI - E graphics card.

It is not possible to update your PC with a graphics card.

I just bought a new card (EVGA geforce gtx 960) to kick some butt. But during installation, it seems to be held on a black screen of death? Not the most fun to see... in any case, I had asked the store clerk if it would work and he said to, but it doesn't seem like it does... Is there a new BIOS I should download or something? Any help would be nice...:.

My computer is a HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1213c

The graphics card is an EVGA geforce gtx 960

If you have both. You can use one or. PIN 8 can be used as a 6 pin as well.

    http://www.EVGA.com/products/ProductList.aspx?type=0 & Family = GeForce + 900 + Series + Family & Chipset = GTX + 960

2 smaller cards use a single PIN 6. The rest use a single 8 pin.

  • HP Pavilion h8-1132sc: Geforce GTX 960 works do not with h8-1132sc model? (BIOS?)

    Hey.

I just bought a new graphics card (Geforce GTX 960) for my computer. After replacing my old and my pc startup, I'm stuck at the blue HP screen, with 1 beep and then 3 beeps and nothing happens.

I can google myself to, many people speak the BIOS (I upgraded to 7.12), but it still does not...

    Anyone?

    Taxbo, welcome to the forum.

Your problem is, the 960 GTX requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  There is no way to upgrade the BIOS in the UEFI.  The last video cards that does not need UEFI are the GT of 640.

I was wondering is it possible and if yes would I need a new power supply?

    Hello

Your PC has only a 250 Watt POWER supply.  Try a Corsair CX600.

The range of 9xx NVIDIA will not work on your PC.  The NVIDIA GTX 660 is your best choice.

I think that almost any video card will work on your computer.  However, there are two main considerations: 1) the amount of energy needed to run the card properly and 2) the length of the card.

You certainly need to move the power supply (PSU).  The specifications of the computer state that the PSU is internal and 180W.  Most newer video cards require at least 400W to work properly.  Normally, I would recommend a block of at least 500W Power SUPPLY; 600W is even better.

Here's a video card that should work, but it requires 400W of power.

I love the Corsair PSU.  They make quality products at a reasonable price.  The PSU is the backbone of the computer, it is not the place to save money.  This is a power supply that should work for you.  It is modular which allows you to use only the cables that are absolutely necessary.  This more than makes up for the air circulation.  You should check the space provided for the power supply to make sure it will fit.  In addition, make sure that the connectors.

  • Can I upgrade my hp dv7 graphics card a Nividia GeForce GTX 690?

Hello. I currently have the HP dv7-3085dx entertainment laptop. I'm looking to make it a portable game. The games I want to perform are versions 3, Skyrim and Far Cry 3. I'm looking for a GeForce GTX 690 to replace my GeForce GT 230 m. I wanted to know if this is possible and otherwise, what I can do to get my portable gaming conditions.

    Thank you

    Hello

Basically, you can, with a cost, and I think that this cost can be more expensive than buying a new computer because you have to take into account:

    • New price of the card, and WHERE you can buy it because the laptop cards are not the same office maps. You can't buy any normal store,
    • Need new card system (can be),
    • Need new system of cooling because in general more powerful card pumps out more heat (you want more powerful card don't you?).
    • May need new power supply because your current diet is not suitbale for the card. (I ordered a machine with the Nvidia card and I need to order a 90W charger at the same time, not the normal charger 65W. They rejected just my order.)
    • Cost of the work.
    • Packages a lot, a lot of aspirin.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello

I have laptop HP Pavilion N020AX 15. I want to improve its wireless card. Anyone can suggest me a good wireless card and supported?

However, your laptop is fairly new to the issue of the white list. In other words, you can install any wifi card with the right form factor and the number of antennas, not only to the choice of HP. See p. 49. Access is easy. You need a mini-pcie half height with 2 antennas. You have an AMD processor, if you want to avoid the Intel models.

Something like that would be a top choice of the line with a maximum performance:

At the forum of the hp users, we can only recommend rated memory specified in the maintenance something beyond manual this is something that you need to do to see if it works or not.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02666747

page 13 of 150 list memory specifications and the installation program.

You can try installing that as long as the RAM corresponds to these specifications on your own. I would say that it might work, but you need the chipset of content can block you the expansion of the RAM as well. So there's what to watch out for to do something like that.

    Hello

The specification is in the manual, page 2, 3 and 98.

  • HP Pavilion 15-ab522tx: can I put my screen?

I think buying the new HP Pavilion 15-ab522tx. But the only thing that prevents me from doing this is his screen! There is a HD IPS Panel with a resolution of 1366 x 768. I really want a Full HD screen and so I wanted to know if the display can be upgraded to a Full HD IPS screen with resolution 1920 x 1080. Please inform if a new model is on its way with screen Full HD IPS! THANKS IN ADVANCE!

They tell us about plans for future models. Do not buy a laptop with the idea to upgrade after purchase. It is almost always less expensive and still way less hassle to just buy what you want in the first place.

    @themacksteruk, welcome to the forum.

You will not be able to upgrade the video card without upgrading the power supply (PSU).  She should be at least 500W.  You must measure the space where the PSU is installed and check to see if you can find one that fits.

  • Pavilion 550-150qe: graphics and power for 550-150qe

    Hello

My nephew wants to upgrade the graphics card in his 5501150qe and will probably need to upgrade to the power supply, too.   It's a small suitcase and the first card he bought was too big (it did not before).  It has now become a Msi GeForce gt 740 live x 12 4 GB. Can anyone suggest a compatible power and there will be cooling problems?

    Thank you-

This is a power supply unit (PSU) that must work for him.  The first thing to do is to measure the existing PSU and to compare measures of the link.  This ensures that the other is insert in space.

For some reason any graphics card with my PC came looming as an AMD Radeon (TM) R5 M320 rather than a 330 R5.
