How to map the keys "Fn F4" on my Thinkpad T61p to keyboard MS Wireless Comfort Keyboard 5000 to Hibernate?

Your Thinkpad keyboard doesn't have access to the MS Wireless Comfort Keyboard 5000 drivers, firmware and add the functioon of Microsoft for the Thinkpad (and vice versa).

Here is an article on how to remap the keys in Vista (with a link to a program that will help): http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/map-any-key-to-any-key-on-windows-xp-vista/. I don't know if this works with the function keys, but it's worth a try.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Can I extend the "sticky key" function key "fn"?

I need to use the 'home' and 'end '. On my ASUS keyboard, these keys must be pushed simulaneouly with the "fn". I have only one arm that is imposible. Can I extend the "sticky key" function key "fn".

My computer is an ASUS UX31E.

    Hello WarwickZD and warwick1,

    The short answer is no.

We cannot extend this functionality to the Fn keys.

In order to get this kind of functionality, you would probably need to investigate the 3rd party software.

Welcome to the HP Forums, it's a great place to get help, find answers and advice,
Thanks for posting your request, I'll be more than happy to help you

I understand that the Ctrl key is used, however, you are not key,

It seems that the key is stuck or used by pressing the other keys.

If you have verified that the keyboard and keys are physically stuck,
    Please try the steps below:

    (1) go to the control panel.
    2) go to "regional and language option.
    (3) go to the "language"tab.
    4) click details.
    (5) select the default input than English (United States) language we
    (6) services installed in keyboard select in the United States, click on apply

Restart the computer and which should solve the problem.

This could also be a problem with the sticky keys, so please turn it off using the procedure below:

Disable the sticky or filter keys

If you have not clicked on the link "Go to the Ease of Access Center", you can simply navigate in the Panel to the ease of access Center and find the link to "Make the keyboard easier to use".

Once you're there, you want to make sure that the boxes for "Turn on sticky keys" or "Turn on filter keys" are turned off - which simply means that the feature is not active at the moment but does not mean that the annoying popup will disappear.

To do this, you will need to click on "Set up FilterKeys" or "Set up sticky keys" (or both).

If you want to help others looking for the same solution, as you found, mark the message as acceptable Solution.

  • 250 G3: no function key functions

I have a brand new 250 G3. I bought it with Windows 8 two weeks ago and updated for Windows 10 a week ago.

Because today, the function keys no longer work. I've read other querys solved this problem, but none of the answers could help me so far: I checked the BIOS and auto-updated all drivers with HPSA.

I don't understand, why it suddenly stopped working. I'm sure, it worked after updating W10.

Any ideas are much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Hi RS Mallory.

If you download the hardware maintenance manual for your system from this site, make sure you get the right one, you can find all combinations of function keys listed in section Presentation of the product.

Otherwise, (and this is from memory, so please forgive me if this does not work), if you have a factory install there should be a function of Lenovo Care with details and help on various topics. If you are looking for help for Fn no it also offers you a list?

F my laptop (Insert here #) buttons have orders, as put volume up/down, mute, disconnect the wireless business, etc.  I was wondering if I could get rid of their functions.  I play a game that uses them and I can't do certain things without access to the keys F. thanks!

    Hello

These secondary functions usually require the use of the fn key to access the multimedia functions. Perhaps you have a fn-lock active? Or the key fn itself is blocked?

Normally, those who are part of the keyboard supporting the driver specific to the manufacturer, so there is little, you can do to remove them.

  • How can I disable the unique - Fn key function keys?

I have a new Dell with Win 7 laptop, and the volume control function keys, reading, etc. when they are pushed to him only (without the need to push the Fn key at the same time).  The problem is that I use these keys only to other purposes more how to adjust the volume, etc.  For example, in MS Publisher, I Zoom in and out to 100% by pressing F9.  However, as it is now I have to press Fn and F9 for this.

How can I change this back to the 'old' where you need Fn most key to do all what indicates the icon on the function key?  As the volume, check the battery, brightness, etc.

I searched on help for Win 7 without success.

    Thanks for your help.   Bob

  • keys function for developers...

Windows developers out there using the new pavilion dv7 computers laptops (with Win7)?

I have a very annoying but kind of trivial problem with function keys. I used years for HP laptops.  In the various IDE Windows, I got used to use the function keys (F8, F9, F10, etc.) to navigate the windows debuggers (step, step over, set breakpoint, etc.).  Function keys have always had dual-use (screen intensity, opening files, etc.), but these substitute functions accessed using the "fn" on past computers incarnations portable pavilion.  Now on my new laptop, the feature is reversed.  To access my debugger actions, I have to press the "fn" key and hold down all the programmable button.  Sometimes, I feel like I played Twister on the keyboard.  I would like to reverse the sense of the 'fn' key so that I don't do several key traits just for a line of my debugging code.

    Any solution to this problem?

    Hello

You should be able to reverse this trend as follows.

Judgment of the laptop.  Tap here to f10 you start upward access the Bios Menu and then make the change described in the document at the link below.
