    Hi there @iliyas1985,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that you are looking for help for a potential installation of SSD.   I'm happy to help you with this.

Looking at HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - specifications of the motherboard, IPISB-NK (Lavaca3-SB)for your system, it has the following internal expansion slots:

Two PCI Express mini card Sockets (generation 2 speed)
A PCI Express MXM slot that takes care of a PCI Express x 16 graphics card (generation 2 speed)

So if you find an SSD, which is compatible with those you can try to use it, but it's never a guarantee that both devices will work together.

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • Want to 13d061sa: the HP Envy 13d061sa SSD upgrade

I have a HP Envy 13d061sa, laptop 13.3 inch with 256 GB SSD drive. I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade to 1 TB drive. Also is it extensible owner?

    Thank you

It is not a replaceable part by the user, so no, not owner replaceable, unless the owner didn't mind accepting complete responsibility for the damage done to the laptop.

Ensure that you buy the right type of SSD for your notebook. I would say a 512 GB is probably a bertter option.

A video at the following library shows how to replace the SSD.

  • HP Envy 15 t-as000: brand new HP Envy w / SSD: "Boot Device not found".

    Hello

I have a brand new (less than 1 week) HP Envy 15 t-as000 w / a 256 GB SSD.  After the impeccable behavior for 1 week, the laptop can be started is no longer.  No boot device is detected.  If I try to run a diagnostic on the hard disk, the BIOS I was informed that it can not detect even a current hard drive (see image)

I don't know what happened.  I'm very careful with my machines.  He has not been abandoned. It has not been dropped on, or taken any sort of somehow.  I just pressed the power button one day (yesterday) and I see this:

Thanks for the tips. I followed your recommendations and sent the laptop to HP for replacement (I bought this unit directly to the output from the HP website).

However, I am frustrated because after all taxes and transportation costs, I had to pay an additional amount of $10.  The total general of the replacement order was $739,79 against $730,90 for the original purchase.  Why am I penalized $ 10 ($8,89 to be exact) for a mistake that was not even my fault?

Also, I had to pay $24,83 FedEx packaging to send the laptop back.  How was I supposed to know I should have brought the Moose with me to Seattle, WA in Ithaca, NY packaging because the SSD was going to fail in my college dorm?

So in the end, my HP Envy $730,90 now goes to the identical replacement of cost unit $739,79 + packaging from FedEx $24,83 phone = $ 764,62.

Bottom line: screw - up HP cost me $33,72!  Not the end of the world but still a ringing sound nice when you're not yet a career with a cushy salary of mickael elite.

  • HP ENVY 15 J048tx: The j048tx of the Hp Envy 15-SSD upgrade.

I want to replace my drive ssd.
    So my questions are-
    1. how to know the compatibility that is to say, size SSDS based on my lappy, type of accommodation?
    2. what ssd you prefer for this laptop?
    3. other information that I should know before replacing?

    Hello

    Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03733656

Any good brand of 2.5-inch SSD SATA 7mm thick will be good. SATA3 is reverse compatible with SATA2, so need to bother in this regard. Your laptop has HM87 Intel chipset board, so probably there SATA2 or 3.

SAMSUNG SSD of 850 Evo is very good. It is SATA3.

Cloning disk SSD before replacement using the manufacturers Web site migration tools is a good option. I used the Samsung migration tool for my laptop Pavilion 15.

Prior to migration, perform a thorough cleaning of the drive:
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/818-disk-cleanup-open-use.html

    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/44274-Windows-Update-cleanup-Windows-8-a.html

A SFC scan to remove the corruption of the file system - option 2:
    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/3047-sfc-scannow-command-run-Windows-8-a.html

If necessary, do the restore health dism on it.

Make a full hard drive, scan memory BIOS:

    Run the scan complete antivirus

  • Envy 17 ssd

    Hello

I would buy the HP Envy 17, but first of all, I would like to know how to replace the HARD drive of 1 TB with a 256 GB SSD. Are the disks in the operating system supplied with the package to reinstall the OS?

    Thank you very much

    Best regards

    Cosimo

No it will not be a Windows recovery disk in the box. There is software installed (HP Recovery Manager) that allows you to burn DVDs of recovery. However, I'm afraid that if you try to use them on a 256 GB SSD, it will not work because the recovery disk indexed to pick up a car at least as large as the smallest offered on this series of models, which in this case is probably 500 or 750 concert.

Most Envy 17 s will have a second hard drive and you can put the SSD in the second span, perform cloning software and then swap positions, using the original 1 TB drive as a storage drive. You would need a second hard drive enclosure and cable, which costs about $40.

Another question: on some models the Envy 17, a MSSD (mSATA) throttle control there and it plays well with a primary transmission SSD running the operating system.

If you can give us the exact model you consider that we can let you know which of these issues, if any, apples and also give you a link to a guide and maybe videos telling how to do all the physical operations that are needed.

  • Envy 13 t: envy 13D SSD

Hi, I have a question regarding the SSD in the Envy 13 t. I have a 128 GB version. Problem is I found that the 32 GB is used even before I installed anything. Mind, it's nine or box. Is this normal?

    Ascalon

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about 32 GB of your SSD already used in Win10 and wanted to help.

In fact, given that a big piece of that is used by Win10 and recovery information, that sounds right.

You can see if there is little space to retrieve by using disk cleanup.  In the search box, type "cleanmgr" (without the quotes) and when you see the disk cleanup appears, right click and select run as administrator.  You will get a pop-up window with a bunch of boxes.  Check them all and let it run.  Who's going to pick up some of the space.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

Unfortunately when they Redid the Forum there is a month old sticky messages were lost. Let me go back and see if I can find it. Don't get your hopes for this as a solution. It is very complicated to implement and very fragile. Windows updates often break for people who have got it to work.

I found an old post which has a link to the instructions:

I'll buy the new HP Envy 15 "model AE101NX with i7, NVIDIA Graphics of 4 GB, 16 GB of RAM and 2 TB HDD.

I would like to install additional SSD card in the present.

According to HP Service Manual PDF, it is mentioned that he supports.

Double storage configurations (models with i7 processors and 4 GB memory graphics dedicated only)
    1 TB (5400) 9. 5 mm + 256 GB SATA SSD (TLC) m2

Could someone please confirm if I can add additional SSD to this laptop? Are there additional location availabel to add SSD?

    Thank you

Yes. See page 42 of the manual here. Technically, he is not an authorized end user procedure. However, there are 'only' that you remove the back cover. Need SATA, not PCIe M.2 mSSDs.

    Hello

Looks like the Condusiv software is not active on the MSATA.  Have you seen the documents in the directory Condusiv?

I hope that we do not have to perform a clean function of diskpart on this device, but perhaps again. Clean even after another order of Condusiv (ECCmd-partition) must be carried out, then a restart.  At this time there the Condusiv ECCmd-info command should work and show some statistics cached.
