HP Envy 4520: HP Envy 4520 - black and white

Hello

I want to print a pdf file of the program (default in Mac systems) "Preview" in B & W, but appearantly it is not possible or it is certainly not easy to achieve.
I tried settings, but even if they are correct, the printer still print in color (and this preview on the left side of the screenshot is colorful, which shouldn't be).

If the cartridges are cheap, I don't care, the real problem is that they are expensive freaking and this seems to be to force people to use them and buy new ones. I'm certainly not one lives, it is not only the problem of this printer and not just a problem I could not find Mac OS.

In addition to my accusations, can someone help me?

Yes, you can use the mode single cartridge for the B & W prints. You will get a black & white output for the colored parts of the original print.

    I understand that your printer prints in black and white only, even if you can make a color copy.

    According to me, the question is in the print settings itself. Please follow the steps and check mentioned below:

    • Go to control panel - devices and printers - give Envy 4520 right-click and select Printing Preferences.
    • In the pop-up window, click on the 'Advanced' button - check for printing in grayscale option. Make sure it is turned off.
    • Also once you try to print a document please go to properties of the printer to make sure it is not set in the option "print in grayscale".

    If the steps above has not resolved the problem, it could be a problem with the printer drivers. In this case, we might need to uninstall the drivers and re - install the same. You can visit http://hp.care/2bYZled to download the drivers.

    I understand that you are having problems when printing in black and white and also the printer goes "offline".

    Going through your post, this could be a problem with the printer drivers. In this case, we might need to uninstall the drivers and re - install the same.

    Now try to change the printing preferences:

    • Go to control panel - devices and printers - give Envy 5640 right-click and select Printing Preferences.
    • In the pop-up window, click on the 'Advanced' button - check for printing in grayscale option. Make sure it is turned on

    PS: Your printer support mode single cartridge. So if you want to completely stop color printing you can get out the color cartridge and use only black.

    New WANT 7640 all-in-one is only printing in black and white.  Test page prints in color. When you click on a file to print, the image goes in black and white, even before printing.

    Click on the Apple icon and select software update. Click the upper part of the Store menu and select reload this Page.

    If there is no HP update be sure to install it.

    Then open Printers & Scanners, delete the printer and click on the plus sign to add back.

    If it persists, please take a look at what is listed in the use of the drop-down menu when you add the printer.

    My sisters new want 5660 printer prints only in black and white.

    I have been all over the net and my iMac to try to understand what is the problem, but nothing helped.

    I looked for the paper type / quality etc settings that were solutions to other problems, but these options are not on my computer.  I passed through all the menus on the printer and many of my programs in an attempt to change a few settings that is saying is not in color, this printer.  I opened the printer settings and the settings of my computer and nothing gave me the possibility to print in color or black and white.

    the closest solution to you, that I could find was that someone uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and it helped for a while, until she had to repeat the same thing.  that cannot be a workable solution, and my first guess would be that there is a problem with the printer.

    The reason why the HP ENVY 5660 e-all-in-one printer is not printing correctly from your Mac OS X 10.6.8 computer is because the printer is not compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.8.

    Because this printer is new, it is only compatible with Mac OS X 10.7, Mac OS X 10.8, Mac OS X 10.9 and 10.10 to Mac OS X. Therefore, there is no driver support on your Mac OS X 10.6.8 computer. I'm surprised that you were able to get the printer to print to your Mac in the first place. But this does not explain why your print quality is so bad. You can try the alternate drivers that appear under the screen (+) add under Print & Fax but I can't guide you to a driver who would be appropriate for your printer, because it is not supported on this operating system. It is an inkjet printer if you can try a few other ink jet pilots who appear in the list.

    The solution to this problem would be to install the desire on a supported operating system and all printing problems will be resolved.

    I see that you have questions about the desire 5530 e - all - in - one printer. I can answer those for you.

    (1) the 5530 envy has a system of two cartridges so it will print with a black cartridge in the printer.

    (2) 61 and 61XL cartridges are both HP cartridges. The printer must be able to print with the same quality that you were using a regular cartridge or a cartridge XL.

  • 23 Firefox with JWPlayer shows video in black and white

    Just upgraded to FF 23 Win8 running. Videos using JWPlayer now reproduce in black and white with a vertical bar on the RIGHT side of the green screen.

    YouTube and other videos work fine.

    It is not a problem with the video source that I can upload them and they display properly. It runs only in a page of FF.

  • My screen seems to have gone out.  Everything worked well then there black and white vertical lines on the screen.  Had to make a hard stop, bury ashes hold the power button. Now no display

    This looks like a bad graphics card. What happens if you hold a flashlight on the screen, you see the desktop or not?
