I can now confirm that the adapter Intel Wireless AC7260 sector works PERFECTLY in a HP Envy 15t, specifically an HP Envy 15-k220nr (4720MQ plant, 8 GB of Ram, Intel i7 installed Intel Wireless 3160 adapter). It works with Windows Pro 10 x 64 great - I can't speak for Windows 7/8/8.1 that I updated before installing (which I recommend), but I expect that it works on Windows 8/8.1 for sure and probably on Windows 7 without problem.

I bought the card on Amazon; the model is "Intel network 7260.HMWG. R' - the. R is important because it is a revised version of the chip with improvements on the original. In addition, don't forget to keep the old card to allow you to reinstall and restore your computer to care factor if you need to send in warranty repair or want to sell it but keep the new card.

It took my about 20 minutes to take it apart, install, test and go back. Now the fun part: performance. The map is hands down more quickly then the motherboard. 2 x 2 MIMO broadcast practically double your performance to download (assuming you have at least to AC1200 router that supports speeds of that card is). I use an ASUS AC1900 RT-AC68U, a great router is worth every penny. Speedtest.NET, my laptop on the wireless now easily continues with my internet service 60MBPS, going as fast as my wired connection (with the old card, he maxed out at around download 50MBPS; with the new card, it uses bandwidth full, closer to 70MBPS for us.) Download speeds were around 4, 5-5 Mbps, to be expected in view of our internet service.

File transfers are literally about twice as fast as prerequisites for the upgrade. I supported sustained more than 8 Mbps download speeds when there are about 40 feet from the router with 3 walls and other elements of the way. File transfer speeds are great, more 40MBPS transferring files to my NAS, compared to close to 20 with the original map (also from 40 feet with 3 walls and other obstacles).

Overall, the performance is much better that the original card, as expected, the installation is simple and quick, and everything works perfectly. I highly recommend this upgrade.

It should be. I don't think that HP had begun the practice of using only a single antenna for single band wireless cards in this series of models.

The wireless card is a Toshiba PA3171U-1MPC, but it does not have the standard 802.11 G and no WPA security.

By looking at the drivers. I see a wifi iNtel into the mix and if you have a wifi iNtel I could choose a family of wifi iNtel to try something like card full length iNtel 5100 or 5300 to see if it works, but it's to try the cause, it can be costly to try to go that route. I'm moving 9780 BBM 7 for WIFI use as I am able to do on a BB10.

N what internal wireless card work with my Presario CQ60-204NR?

I just bought a N Wireless card on ebay but got the error "104 device not supported wireless network found. I updated the bios form F.34 F.54, without change. I've looked through the HP support pages, but seem to be going in circles and not to find whatever it is approved. I am running Vista Home Basic 32-bit, even though I know that the problem is actually in the white list of BIOS of wireless devices. I don't want to push every update from Microsoft to find out which interferes with an upgrade wireless, as stated in another post here.

The only wireless cards, you can install are listed in Chapter 3, pages 3-7 and 8-3.

They must also have the part number HP on them, or they won't work.

So if you are interested in one of these cards, I recommend that you do your research on eBay by part number.

I see that there is only one card that can be a dual band card, and it is the WLAN Atheros AR9280 802.11a/g/n module. And I don't know if it is dual band N or just only on the 5 GHz band.

Part number depends on what part of the world you live. For the USA, which would be part #.

Help! Computer connection issues / printer after Windows 7 upgrade

I HOPE THAT SOMEONE HERE CAN HELP ME! I am frustrated beyond belief.

I have upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. My computer is a hp dv5 pc, 64-bit. My wireless printer is a hp OfficeJet J4680c. Before the upgrade, wireless printing was perfect.

Since the upgrade, when I try to print, two things will happen:

(1) when I try to print, there is a mistake that the document cannot print.

OR

(2) when I try to print, the printer icon appears that the document will print, but nothing happens. When I right click and open the Active printer, it shows that it is "printing", however the number of pages displayed is n/a. After 2-3 minutes, the document simply disappears from the print screen, as if it printed.

I went through the troubleshooting steps on my hp PC help & support, I have read the forums for hours and tried various fixes, I went through the center of solutions hp printer troubleshooting steps...

The final diagnosis is that the computer is unable to 'find' the printer. Here is some additional information:

I was able to print occasionally during the troubleshooting process (see below for more information)

All the drivers are up to date.

Computer and the printer are connected to the same network wireless in my house.

Whenever I have manually print the "HP Network Configuration Page," it shows that the printer is "ready".
