HP ENVY M7: M.2 SSD use with HP Envy M7-n011dx

I recently bought the HP Envy M7-n011dx, with the hope of being able to install an ssd inside M.2 to start from but also run my programs.

After reviewing the manual for it, I found it was in fact the port for the SSD, however, looking through the forums I am now more confused then ever know if this laptop has the active port m.2.

Before I go and order any material or try to take the computer hand after the purchase, I was hoping someone could let me know if this particular model allows the use of the DSS m2.

My research seems to show that n0xx models have active port where n1xx models do not have.

Does anyone have any ideas or comments?

Not exactly. The manual says this about it:

SSD conƭgurations (for i7 + GTX PCA) ● 512 GB m2 SATA SSD (TLC) ● 128 M2 of GB SATA-3 (TLC) ● 128 M2 of GB SATA-3 (TLC) value

While the models with an i7 + graphic GTX, that is to say the 950M has a port of m2 and I think yours is 940 M.

I followed this M.2 debacle here since the beginning, and here's what we saw. models with a port of m2 which is dead, disabled. Models that have a port M.2 clearly described in the manual, but when you open the case, you will only find traces for a m2 but no real port welded to the.

So I strongly hesitate to give advice on adding a player of m2 to any HP laptop which didn't plant it. It's the only way you can be sure that it will work 100%. If you're brave, at the very least, open it first and check if the mounting material is really there. Do not order the m2 before the laptop drive even comes to your door, as many people did, to their disappointment and expenses.

The only way that a m2 is a "gotta have" If you can use a version of NVME PCI - e, not SATA. SATA based M.2s are not significantly faster than a good old 2.5-inch SSD SATA-III we can say absolutely not work. And that's another story altogether: what models can accept a M.2 NVME?

  • What Mac Mini for use with Adobe CC?

    Hello

I thought about getting a Mac Mini to use with a Wacom Cintiq Display(either 22HD or 27QHD) and I was wondering what would be best for the execution of the Adobe programs.

It seems that most of the people prefer the 2012 Mac mini with the quad core as opposed to the current gen using two hearts.

This brings me to two questions:

I see a huge difference between the quad core and dual core in the adobe programs?

8 GB RAM is enough or should I opt for 16 GB?

Otherwise, the mac mini may be a poor choice for what I would do, so any feedback is appreciated!

    Thank you!

What Adobe suggest to their CC minimum specifications in OS X, it

should not be necessary to buy a quad-core (they say that it would use all the cores).

A set of Photoshop CC system requirements suggest higher specs than one

Another help page for Adobe. This page shows the highest specifications, but can

not reflect the version that you are considering:

•Photoshop CC 2015.x system requirements and languages

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Photoshop/system-requirements.html

If for some reason you happen across a 2012 end i7 2.3 or 2.6 GHz quad with

two 1 TB hard drives, they would be more easily upgraded to run an SSD and

keep a rotating disc; or install two SSDs. between that and 16 GB of RAM, these

should do a quick little computer. Rotational hard drives are the bottleneck.

But probably not necessary for Adobe photoshop CC. The graphics processor

is a limitation if you use intense graphic applications. GPU shares

standard memory with the system; From memory, there is little or no dedicated graphics.

    Although I have a Late 2012 Mac Mini i7 2.3 GHz quad-core (server) with double 1 TB

5400 RPM hard drive and RAM upgraded to 16 GB total rotation. It can

Use at least one drive upgraded to 7200 rpm or SSD drive more efficient.

The Mac Mini which is online store (check to see if there is an official refurb)

in the middle to upper technical version may be OK. The top level because of the upgrade

options in the configuration page (select to buy it, then see what options exist)

might be OK. The lower spec Mini doesn't seem to be viable for serious users.

New versions available now, because, you choose the configuration when

you order the computer: you buy an upgrade level you think you might need.

Memory is affixed, then exercise your ESP skills to look ahead, before buying.

The new Mac Mini 'top model' has better graphics than model end 2012.

An advantage for the Mini is you can choose monitors, peripherals, etc. An old

new stock Mini would have some OS X who was active as a base level.

Since none of these units have a system backup media. Is online recovery there.

My Mini comes with the Mavericks 10.9; 10.9.5 functioning properly. Partitioned,

the discs could dualboot mulitple systems and their applications more recent specifications.

(You can pay like nine awards for the end of 2012 Mini i7 quad, used clean-shaped).

I had considered to be a non - retina MacBook Pro 13 inch 2.5 GHz for once.

It was the time when they were more common in the 'special offers' Apple

refurb store page online at decent price; then buy RAM upgrade later.

In any case, this has become a long rant a few detours or details were

omitted for the sake of clear path back to the main topic. Since I was late

2012, mac Mini and it's more of the half upgraded for most all that he can do

I would probably say try a. If you can find a new one at a fair cost.

If the cost is too high, you can get a new Mac Mini to higher specification

the Apple Store. They are dual-core. Adobe applications do not seem to need

the advantage of the use of quad-core processors or. (these run virtual cores, too;)

so if you have the appropriate application, the quad core turn eight - virtual.)

The option AppleCare extended warranty covers to buy new equipment.

It would have supplied with El Capitan, if the current new stock. This fall, there may be macOS

Sierra - if you happen to get that stock again - at the end of the year. Not sure

If or when the hardware upgrade version configurations may appear.

Anyway, it's more a kind of letter. Sorry about that...!

  • External hard drive for use with FCPX Thunderbolt

I got a new iMac, but the SSD in it's tiny, so I need to invest in an external drive at least some of TB.  Should I go Thunderbolt because I think it's faster?  I'm looking at Fantom and Lacie but I'm not sure what would work best for use with FCPX.

Any tips or suggestions for these two manufacturers?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Well, a disc of Tb2 (which takes care of your iMac) will offer excellent performances. If you need these speeds depends on really how ask your projects are. A USB3 drive will be fast enough for the vast majority of HD projects. Expect to spend more for the readers of Thunderbolt2.

Here is a good article on configuring systems with external drives.

    Good luck.

  • HP Envy m7-n011dx: HP Envy m7-n011dx, installation of SSD and drivers for windows 10

    Hello.

Just got on my mail today a HP ENVY m7-n011dx.

    HP ENVY notebook - m7-n011dx
    Product: M1W00UAR #ABA
    Warranty: 90d90d0d
    Model: m7-n011dx

I have an SSD and install Windows 10 company on that front. I can get some drivers from here:
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-envy-M7-n000-notebook-PC/7771355/model/8381965?SK...

But this forum helped a lot with good advice on how to do, so if you have any recommendations on what I should install first, or the order of installation, please let me know.

Also, is there a quick way to completely disable the mouse pad?

    Thank you!

Intel Chipset utility must always be the first installed, then all the others in this category. Graphics would be my next choice mainly for aesthetics. Others can be installed in virtually any order.

I'm sorry that I don't know a quick way to disable the touchpad. I have no idea why HP has removed the button off / on for most of their laptops.

  • How can I clean install Win 7 Pro on a series of 330 intel SSD using a Sony Vaio laptop as the source. I have the original disc and the authorization only

My Office HARD drive had a fatal accident and poster now under vacuum. It was a disk of 1 TB with Win 7 Pro upgrade to Win 8 Pro.I have records of origin 32 and 64 bit OS and wish to install the OS on a SSD using the optical drive on my Sony Vaio, which will become then the boot drive in my office.

    [Moved from comments]

You must do the installation on the desktop. You can not install windows on the disk into a computer and then move the disk to another computer and do work. When installation is complete, it reads information from the BIOS of the computer, on which it is installed and when you put the disc in another computer that Windows does not find the information used during the installation.

You will need to put the new drive in the desktop, install Windows 7 on it, then upgrade to Windows 7 to Windows 8 again.

I just upgraded from the LR5 LR6 on my Macbook Air to OS 10.9.5. LR5 photos 38K, especially on an SSD connected with 2 years on an internal hard drive, gave a 48 GB LR5 catalog. Starting LR6, I decided to import all the photos of 38K stored on my SSD to form the LR6 catalog, but it is now 108 GB. Is he aware would be so much bigger than LR5 LR6 catalog? Should I redo, selecting the LR5 catalog to import to the LR6?

I don't pretend to re-do an import, I do not import or re - import at all.

You can delete the catalog Lightroom 6 and his insights that you created. You want to have the Lightroom 6 to upgrade the 5 Lightroom catalog file. Use the file-> open catalog and point to the 5 Lightroom catalog file. Once it is successful, you can also delete or archive the 5 Lightroom Catalog and delete its previews. As a piece of advice, never re - import photos. NEVER, as in... do not, do not, don't go anywhere near it.

Regarding the size of the preview, you can control this in Lightroom under the catalog tab file management settings.

  • What is the best piano keyboard to use with a macbook air?

    Hi all:

I would like to know what piano keyboards do you recommend to use with Garageband AND recording via my Macbook Air. I would have preferred a keyboard with many features - modulation of pitch, a good Bank of sounds, at least 6 titles, etc. I know I should have a MIDI output to work. I think maybe a CASIO, YAMAHA or maybe a BERRINGER. Can help you guys?

    Thanks a bunch!

I have no preference, but try to get a compatible keyboard class requires no drivers to install, or there's plenty wrong with each update of the system on your Mac.

iPhone 5 s, iOS 9.3.4 is very HOT when it is used with CARPLAY?

I have read reports on older iPhones running hot because of the processor being exceeded. Might be better if you checked him into an Apple store to be on the safe side.

  • This identifier apple has not yet been used with the App store.

I bought my macbook pro to my brother and always used without my Apple ID and then I decided to restore the macbook to the factory because of some problems with the performance setting, when I hit install OS X Yosemite on the disk, it asks you to login Apple ID and when I try to login with my account , he says "this identifier Apple has not yet been used with the App store" Please check your account information, when I hit "see" nothing happens and it of kind of stuck and makes me restart the process and enter my apple ID and password. "

I don't know what the problem is and now I can't open my macbook to use

Because the computer has been configured using Apple ID of your brother, it is bound to this ID. If you have never downloaded Yosemite, you can not install it. Ask your brother to insert his Apple ID, so you can get the computer operational again. Then, go to the App Store, sign in with your ID and check the purchases tab to see if the Yosemite is an option. If this is not the case, download El Capitan and see if it will install. If you want to do a clean install, quit the installer and the program below allows you to create a bootable USB key. Boot from it, wipe the hard drive and then install El Capitan. When you restart normally it will be your computer. See also the link for sale.

I'm not sure to understand how you use your Apple ID... it seems that you want to have your communication and purchases on that 'professional' - work and personal communications, games, music, etc. on another.

    Both should be saved.

All the data associated with an identifier Apple is always linked to this identifier to Apple.
