HP ENVY Sleekbook 6-1110us: Memory Upgrade - vs 1333 MHz 1600 MHz

Hello

I plan to upgrade RAM my laptop 4GB to 16GB (2 x 8 GB). I went through the manual and noticed that the laptop comes with two slots for memory module:

i. support of DDR3 - 1600 MHz single channel

II support. DDR3 - 1333 MHz single channel (DDR3-1600 downgrade to 1333)

I understand that memory cards should "mirror" each other in order to maintain the balance of system, they must be identical in terms of memory and performance.

My question is this:

Should a. I buy 2 memory cards that run at 1600 MHz? I understand the second module slot, which runs at 1333 MHz, to downgrade the two cards to this specification. Or,

Should b. I buy 2 memory cards that run at 1333 MHz? Which would be compatible with the first slot which will at1600MHz?

Thanks in advance for your help. Impatience on your part.

Upgrade memory requires major disassembly in your model. It will void the warranty if you break something in the process. Ask the help of local tech if you are out of warranty and are not sure how to.

Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03282148

You can buy 2 sticks of exactly the same configuration, speed, possibly brand - DDR3 1600 MHz, SODIMM SDRAM PC3-12800. Unfortunately sticks will only work on single channel even if both are of the same capacity (8 GB in two slots), so no dual channel thrust intended for your model.

You know the configuration, the speed of the stick currently installed by running this tool: http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

The speed indicated in the application currently is the possible speed through the two slots of memory.

Hello, I recently bought and installed an upgrade of DDR3 4 GB memory for my Pavilion Sleekbook 15-B142DX. It is PNY PC3-10666, chip of 4GB which says it's compatible with 1333 MHz and 1066 MHz I booted the laptop after the installation of the new chip, but reports still 4 GB of physical memory, msinfo and other online tests. Yet once, I opened the computer suspect that the chip was not fully connected. While there, I pass the tasks of the 1st round and the new stick. The computer registers yet only 4 GB of physical memory. Did I buy an incompatible chip or it's probably another problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Paul,.

I received a HP technical support solution. The chipset you recommended works very well (thanks again). Here is the solution, in case anyone has the same problem with this model:

    (1) I removed the new chipset

    (2) I started the computer and went to menu BIOS setup > Boot Options > Secure Boot (those may not be the exact names)

    (3) switched start safe for people with reduced mobility.

    (4) reinstalled the new chipset

    (5) on the machine

    (6) checked to make sure that the computer record 8 GB

    (7) turned Secure Boot on

  • B200 M3 memory stuck at 1333 MHz in performance mode

    Hello

We have 2 B200 M3s in a new deployment running 2.0(3a). The B200s are configured with 64 GB using DIMMs of 8 GB, using BANK 0 of each channel. We deployed a policy of BIOS specifying performance for LV DDR mode and confirmed this setting takes effect in the BIOS, but the memory continues to run at 1333 MHz. When we look at the inventory server, the DIMMs are reported as 8GB 1600 MHz DIMM dual rank. We tried forcing the DIMMs in mode low voltage and return to the mode of performance without result.

In other UCS environments, we have deployed these same blades with the same configuration of the memory and BIOS policy and had no problem getting the RAM at full speed. We do not use any kind of power is corking.

    Thoughts?

What is CPU?  support for the B200-M3 CPU 3 do not support the 1600 Mhz:

You don't you can't and it would not help if you could. However, offered on the m7-k200 series was a GeForce 850 M with 4 GB of video memory. The graphics chips are soldered directly to the motherboard, so theoretically you can get the motherboard of 850M and exchange for your.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

The motherboards in this range of products also include a processor soldered onto your best motherboard would be this:

Intel Core i7-4720HQ Discrete 850 M 4 GB (2.6 GHz, turbo up to 3.6 GHz SC), 1 600 MHz/6 MB L3, quad core 47 W for use with the operating system Standard of 782621-501

HP is out of stock on the motherboard, but you might be able to find online. I expect to cost more than $400, maybe a little more.

  • HP G62-a20SE Memory Upgrade

    Hello

Im confused here about that is the maximum memory could be?

Based on the hp site it says Max Memory: supports up to 4 GB memory DDR3, but im looking on the internet, they also said that it can be improved up to 8 GB.

I want to buy 8 GB memory to improve my loptop performance but I don't know if the 8 GB is compatible with my laptop.

Can someone give me an idea of expertise.

    Thank you

    You are the very welcome.

The manual is for number of processors, see the top of page 1.

    i5 i3 and an i7...

And when you go to the page of Intel specs for the processor installed in your model, you will see that the processor supports up to 8 GB memory.

    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/43529/Intel-Core-i3-350M-processor-3M-cache-2_26-GHz?q=i3-350M

Now, keep in mind that if you buy memory PC3-10600 (1333 MHz), it will only work at 1 066 MHz because it is the speed of the FSB of the processor in your PC.

  • HP ENVY Sleekbook 4-1000en: upgrading memory on ENVY 4-1000en

    Hello

Since I have some basic computer knowledge, but I want to be sure before you go for it, I need your advice.

I have a HP ENVY Sleekbook 4-1000en and I have recently upgraded to HDD and the OS.

I think the upgrade of RAM have, as far as I know that you need 2 memories of the same type, so I guess I can't buy an another 4 GB right?

Do I need 2 x 4 GB of DDR3 memory, of the same type to make it work? For example they would work very well

    http://www.corsair.com/en/vengeance-8gb-high-performance-sodimm-memory-upgrade-kit-cmsx8gx3m2a1600c9 ?

Finally the upgrade memory requires any other configuration after plugin in? Is a format for example?

    Thanks for your time.

    Hello

The following link shows the specifications of your computer:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03362810

It has 4 GB of RAM now. The question is 4 GB in a dwelling or in the two slots (2 + 2).

b in the case of a home, you can just buy another 4GB with SAME part/characteristics of the EXISTING RAM and install in the second slot.

    (b) if in 2 slots (IE 2 + 2), then throw them both and buy 2 new sticks 4 GB each. Agin use even care.

You don't need to format RAM. Moreover, we have only to format HDD/SSD but not RAM. And Yes, push in the two slots must be same same specs even marks to be able to get all the benefits.

    Kind regards.

  • HP ENVY Notebook m6-1105dx: question to DDR3L DDR3 memory upgrade

I have a laptop of HP ENVY m6-1105dx.

    I would like to upgrade from 1.5V to DDR3L 1.35v DDR3.

Is this possible without damage to my laptop?

    Thank you

    Joan

The upgrades only to memory that can be made to your laptop is installation of memory modules that are guaranteed compatible by a manufacturer of memory.

Your laptop is not like a mother gaming for a desktop computer. You are limited to the settings "protect me from myself" available in your BIOS. You cannot change the tension of memory to allow the motherboard to accept other modules of memory. Installation of memory with others that the specifications published by HP or other than guaranteed compatible memory modules will probably reward you with no experience to have fun a non laptop startup.

That said, I recommend you do a search on google for HP ENVY m6-1105dx memory upgrade. Stick with well-known brands to avoid surprises.

As a general rule, long term, its not recommended to mix different frequencies & CASE, RAM together.

But if you ask if they work together at all, they will all be two race to lower speed - no problem whatsoever in this area.

Fortunately, your system manual lists the frequencies 1600 times & 1333 & if you put two Rams they will work in single channel type - no dual channel supports listed in the guide.  Here is your Manual (Page 1).

The performance issue that could have landed because they are different, it's that they are running in single channel which is slower mode. But your system do not already support channel.

So all of your ram is now 1333 but it will work very well in single channel mode.

Download CPU - Z to see what makes your ram and ram it is. The part listed for 4 GB of RAM is in your manual.

Recently saved this PC of my friend tries to throw it. Everything is fine with the PC. It works perfectly and there is no material visible failure wihtin the PC either. He just bought a new and had no need for this one.

Before turn me this into a House mutli-purpose server, I decided to upgrade the RAM.

So I did some research and found this page: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01883661

DDR3 240-pin DIMM 1333 MHz non - ECC, Max 4 GB per DIMM slot, Total Max 16 GB module.

I went and bought RAM Corsair. Link to the product: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/cmv4gx3m1a1333c9

I decided to get 2x4gb and upgrade later if I felt the need.

I was happy to install in the PC. one in DIMM 1 slot and the other in the DIMM 2 slot.

    BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!

I thought that maybe the slots are wrong, maybe they have to odd numbers then numbers.

So I changed the RAM of DIMM 2 DIMM 3.

    Once again, the annoying ringtone.

I even tried leaving just the 4 GB DIMM 1 and tried to start the PC, but nothing helped.

I tried a lot of different combinations with the end result is 5 annoying beeps.

After that I thought that maybe, just maybe, an update of the BIOS can change things.

So I installed Windows 7 (I can't stand Windows. Arch Linux FTW) and performing a BIOS update.

I then installed the new RAM again. Yes... frickin 5 beeps AGAIN.

I am extremely disappointed at this point. I spent already $ 70 on a computer with free access.

I read the forums here, but I couldn't find a thread with a solution for me.

Is there anyone on this forum who could lend me a helping hand?

Any information would be gladly appreciated.
