HP G60 can shut down as usual

Hi, my HP G60 laptop suddenly shuts down as usual.

I just follow the normal procedure to shut down the computer in windows vista. But this does not as usual since yesterday. Normally, when the screen went completely black and it takes a few seconds to close completely. But since yesterday, when the screen went black, it takes about 10 minutes to turn off completely. During these 10 minutes, I see even the power led on and the fan will continue to operate at high speed.

I have not make any unusual thing on the computer yesterday, office used and read emails from hotmail.

Anyone can help on this please?

Thank you

Hello

It may be a good idea to see if this is caused by a program that starts with Windows

Start Notepad and let Windows load completely.  Hold down the Windows key and press R.  For the run box, type msconfig and press ENTER.  In the next window, click the Startup tab, uncheck the box next to each startup item and then click on apply to apply the change.  Restart the portable computer for the change to take effect.  When the laptop has rebooted, leave it for a few minutes, then try stopping.  If it stops OK now, reactivate a substantive point at a time, click on apply and restarted for the change to be applied, then check the speed at which the laptop stops.  Keep doing this until you experience the problem and you will know that the last program that you define to start is the origin of the problem.

Kind regards

Thank you very much. Would be a new instal OS solve these problems?

If you mean a new facility on a reformatted drive or a system recovery using recovery of the manufacture process, Yes, certainly, unless it's a hardware problem - but then you learn nothing about what caused the problem in the first place and so how do I prevent it from happening again.
    WRT your mistakes: -.
    1. nothing to worry about, as most of the machines do not have parallel ports today (unless yours does?)
    (2) it is difficult to talk about this, without more details-, but because they say "dependants", rather that "unload", it can probably be ignored.
    (3) it seems normal - I've seen a lot of PC with this error, and apparently nothing wrong. -It is important only if you are connected to a domain server
    (4) the service (I think) is a result of system crash, rather than a cause of the grip.

It seems that the cause of this will remain a mystery.
My earlier concern about SR doesn't work not just because of problems still standing stop - but back your data first, so that if the worst happens and you cannot start the system later, you can go to plan B.
As Lorien says, try a back system restore to before the problem started - although at 2 months, I would worry about the stability of the system later. Since you already said that you are willing to do a reinstall if necessary, give it a whirl :)

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

4.) all changes to your system until the problem was happening:

I think I have a type of malware or something because my computer started running slower and I continue to be redirected to Web sites randomly when I use Google or Bing.  Records on the right side of my Start menu as 'Computer' and 'My Documents' disappeared.  I also get this an update for Windows live which stops at 57%.

    Problem:

There is no restore point on my computer if I want to perform a system recovery back to the image of the manufactuer.  I downloaded the USB recovery Flash Disk Utility for my model.  Now I want to recover my computer via USB, but when I run the advanced recovery mode he's trying to restart my computer.  Given that my computer will not shut down properly, I end up having to press the power button until it stops my computer and the recovery does not continue when I start my computer again.

I tried to use F11, but then I just end up on a screen that says either press on enter to choose to continue with Windows 7, press tab to move to the bottom of the list or press ESC for more options.  I tried all three and they eventually freeze the screen and keys are starting to make a Summit high-pitched beep when I try to press one, so I end up having to force my laptop to stop.

I also tried to make recovery by pressing F8 and then choosing the "repair your computer option.  Which causes my computer screen go black, and I end up having to force it to close again.

Is it possible to restore my computer to factory settings?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    JES

    Hi, Jes:

Yes, it would be the battery.  The relatively heavy bar that is normally removed retainers of slide.

From what you described, I am afraid that your PC needs a lot of work (probably a bad motherboard), and you'd be much better to buy a new laptop or refurbished, than to pay a lot of money to fix yours.

I guess you would have to pay more than $200 for repair.

I'm sorry this is probably not what you wanted to hear.

    Best regards

    Paul

  • After running for 1-2 hrs closed windows, not to wait about 5 minutes to turn off turn back on. What can cause my computer shut down

While on the internet (firefox) after using it for about an hour my computer shuts down automatically for no reason.  I have to wait about 5 minutes to turn back.  During the restoration of my session, I get this message "the script is not responding," if I hit continue Firefox closes running.

There are several reasons that the PC automatically stops due to the error, usually you would see blue screen and system restart. It could be a hardware or software error. Windows check log and see what the cause was also check problem and solution center and see if something is there. Also update your Windows and run the disk check. Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft Community and thanks for posting the question. Looks like you want to add shut down as an option for the power button.

Visit this link and try the steps mentioned:

There are two ways to change what happens when you press the power button on your computer. You can change what happens when you press the power button on your computer case (or the edge of your laptop) and you can change what happens when you press the close button in the start menu.
