  Since upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10, the laptop displays a black screen after the sleep or hibernate modes.  The system seems to be commissioning (HDD, fan action), but no video.  The system boots normally cold trouble-free starting.  Never, there is this problem with Windows 7.

  I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP G60 laptop and problems with the mode "sleep" after the update to Windows 10. I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings. You could restore the BIOS with this document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings. In this way, it will look at the hardware installed on your laptop.

  You can try:

  In Device Manager, click the arrow

  next to display adapters to expand this category
  Right-click on the graph, and then select Update driver software if more than 1 graphic adapter do 1 at a time.
  Select search automatically for updated driver software.

  The laptop must find and automatically install the updated driver
  Once the installation is complete, restart your laptop.

  You can try to use the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows 10.  Please restart the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed!

• HP G60 laptop boots HP logo, and then recycles - Windows 7

  I just installed a new keyboard on my laptop G60 running Windows 7 Enterprise Edition. before putting the screws in the battery compartment area, I replaced the battery and turned on my laptop unpluggced to see if the new keyboard work. Everything worked perfectly.

  So I closed the lid of my laptop, removed the battery, put the screws, replace the battery and press the power button, now my laptop boots as much as the HP logo, with the option to press ESC to the Start Menu, then the screen goes black and travels to the HP logo. This cycles goes and indefinitely. I am able to access the Start Menu. I removed the new keyboard and tried to start it again - same thing. I then tried using my old keyboard to see if that makes a difference - no change.

  Any advice? Thank you.

  Hi - I tried that after I posted this question, and it turned out to be a previously installed update that was causing the problem. I had to restore my system to a previous date before the update was installed, and this has solved the problem. Thank you!

• G60: laptop does not power off with powered usb hub attached

  I have an external powered USB hub which I attach to my G60 running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium. When I try to stop the G60 with the attached hub and under tension, the shutdown sequence passes Logging Off to Shutting Down but never completely off. Power and lighting wireless turned on and the fan continues to run.

  Is there a way around it except turn off the USB hub before shutdown?

  I saw your post about the problems with your laptop not shutting not completely when the powered USB hub is connected. Sounds like your laptop goes into sleep or hibernation. I recommend you contact the manufacturers of USB powered to see if there is a way to stop it or just unplug the hub.

  I have a 4 years old HP G60-235DX computer laptop Vista Home Premium OEM factory installed.  I had been doing the blue screen of death the last 8 months.  On Tuesday afternoon, I ran ChkDsk.  It was taking too long so I hit the power button.  now on startup, a message indicates "Windows Failed To Start."  A recent hardware or software change might be the Cause. "I tried to restore it to 4pmPST (Tuesday 7/2), but he sent the message:"your computer is running In A Limited Diagnostic State.  If you use the system restore in this Limited State, you can't undo the restore operation. "Expert Microsoft at the reception of the answer took me by (attempt), safe mode safe mode with network (failed attempt), last known good configuration (failed attempt).   He said that he needs me to order a HP recovery disk because the Vista system files are corrupted, damaged or missing.   Does this sound correct?  Try to get a good HP # order JUST a recovery disk.   I was the victim of the "have you tried to fix your own computer without HP offers you a recovery disk?   This is what happens when you try to fix it yourself without HP offers you a recovery disk. »

  I would like that you try the following.

  1. Click Start, type "Device Manager" and press ENTER.
  2. Expand the section "audio, video and game controllers".
  3. Right click on your audio device and select 'uninstall '.  Remove the driver only if prompted.
  4. Close these windows.
  5. Click Start, type "uninstall a program" and press ENTER.
  6. Find Skype on this list and uninstall.
  7. Restart your laptop.  To start Windows it should automatically re - install your audio driver.
  8. Once installation is complete, you'll want to install Skype.  Here is a link to the latest version.
  9. If you have Skype installed access audio settings once more and make sure your microphone is selected, and the volume is set to max.
  10. Use Skype and check if your microphone works.
  11. Display the result.

  Loads of reading on the internet about this Vista Local Access Only. Recently moved property and now guess what this PC cannot connect via wireless, never made any other device.

  Tried to configure IPv4 only etc, still have questions.

  Is there a link to check the latest version of the driver for the laptop computer help section, HP doesn't seem to make it easy to locate and download?

  I continued to research on the web and found similar version driver.

  Product: Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g WiFi adapt

  Immediately huge, up and running.

  Of course the driver via rlink will allow you to correct excatly the same as...

  When I press the power button, lights up the laptop, I can connect to windows, but then the screen goes black after a few minutes or as soon as possible.

  -The power stays on and does not turn off or restart

  -I can hear the fan spins again

  -I see very very very vaguely the screen that I should be seeing, but no mouse or cursor

  -J' tried to take out the battery

  Anyone know what I can do?

  Try the following.

  Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press ENTER.  When it has loaded, on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Choose a restore point at least 24 hours prior to the issuance and then proceed to the restoration.  When you are finished, Windows will restart normally.

  This makes all the difference?

  Yes, the update of the AVG driver is actually a little more aggressive and find new drivers from the manufacturer of hardware and not only HP and Windows itself. Frankly, the proof is in the pudding. Bottom line it works. If you start getting ignored signals or if performance is lower than it used to be, I would look in the update of the driver. It is likely that filter you pretty soon anyway from Windows Update.

  It would be something that you must send to or contact technical support for Microsoft Windows. This isn't a related problem of hp.

  I have the AVG driver update program and it works great except for Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g WiFi Adapter driver update.
