I have the AVG driver update program and it works great except for Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g WiFi Adapter driver update. Whenever I try to download and install the latest driver, my computer freezes and I have to go into recovery mode. Even a technician AVG via the remote control of my computer is my computer crash. What is the problem with this new version of the drivers? When I had last update AVG driver about 2 years ago, it updated all my drivers without problem, but this time this driver Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g WiFi Driver adapter made my computer crash. What could be the problem?

  • Problem with Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g adapter on HP Vista laptop

I recently bought a Linksys E2000 router. He immediately hung on my Wired desktop in Vista and a laptop running Windows XP.  However, he had a problem onto HP laptop my wife running Vista. It wouldn't let me connect as a secure binding, but let me just connect as a guest with limited functionality account. Linksys, I called and they informed me that the Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g wifi adapter had problems of compatibility with the Linksys E2000 and suggested to update with the new drivers. I searched online but a new driver is not found.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Hi mark, Yes, download and run the file. It should automatically install the drivers. I hope they will fix the problem you are experiencing. Paul

  • Question re: Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g adapter and connection w/Linksys E2000 wireless router

Help! I'm at my wit's end. I just bought a Linksys E2000 router and cannot find a way to get the router to connect wireless on my HP G60-235DX laptop (running Vista) via the WPA2 setting. I know that the Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g wifi adapter is the question, and I downloaded the latest driver update... and still have the same problems.

FYI - I can connect to the computer via the internet cable from the Linksys E2000 router so I know that it is not a modem issue.

    Help... PLEASE, I BEG YOU!

Thank you, thank you, thank you...

    Paul,

I solved the problem! After almost return the router to Best Buy today during lunch, I decided to give it a try more tonight and again call LinkSys. After almost decided with the Linksys officer that they only solution is to put another card in my computer, we stumbled on the question.

We have gone to 5.0 GHz to 2.4 and spent the 'auto' channel to channel 9.

And now my computer works like a charm (thanks also to update the driver as you instructed).

    Thank you!

  • Problems with Atheros 5007 802. 11 b / g with Windows Vista

I have a laptop with Windows Vista sp2, and I try to connect a Cisco, Lynksis router E2000 wireless.  It does not work and I had a chat session with someone from Cisco, and he says it's my Atheros 5007 802. 11 b / g WiFi adapt which is causing the problem, and I need to upgrade. Where this to do and how. I've looked everywhere and can't seem to understand.  When I go to my driver Atheros and doing an "update", it tells me that it is currently being updated.  As you can tell I'm not super savvy, computer so any any help will be appreciated.

My recommendation is not to uninstall the driver first and then reinstall unit manufacrturer Web site.

  • Qualcomm, atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n wifi adapter problem

Hi, if I can connect to the internet, but after a bit, I'm disconnected from the network. When I have the Troubleshoot, it indicates that there is a problem with my card. It is not a problem with my network as all other devices work correctly.

I use Windows 8; my laptop is a Pavilion dv6 - 3284ca; my wifi adapter is qualcomm, atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n wifi adapt

Let me know if you need more information.

You can try a USB wireless adapter. If it works, which will restrict the cause root. If it doesn't, it will restrict the issue to a conclusion. There is not a lot of troubleshooting on the left that you don't want to, so I think that an adapter is a good idea.

Hoping that someone who has a lot more of an idea about this can help me because I can't really find what I need to fix this!

Basically - I have a computer old enough HP G60 laptop running Windows Vista and using some providers of internet (SKY and Virgin Media) I can connect to the internet, but it only shows Local only. I can connect to my wifi with my iPhone without problems, so currently connect to the internet using the USB cable, but it's so slow!

Is it possible to update the Atheros driver for this problem?

Very grateful to anyone who could help me!

    Thanks in advance

    Hello:

You probably need to install the updated wireless driver that provides support for WPA2 security.

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?sp4ts.Oid=5060881&swItemId=ob_108905_1&swEnvOid=4059#

Check to make sure that the new driver has replaced a former and indicates a date of version 2011.

If she does not, uninstall the device by right clicking on the Atheros wireless card, select uninstall, reboot and install the new driver.

  • Changing the settings of the WLAN with an Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter running on a Vista computer

How can I set the preset wlan on ONE for an Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter running on a Vista computer.  Currently, the default is OFF and I need to use the Fn F1 to bring up the option to turn it on, Iwant my laptop to connect to my wireless router automatically without having to do that.

    Thank you

    Hi Cath.

In most cases, it is a configuration in the BIOS of the laptop that will solve the wireless by card.

Then start the laptop enter in BIOS and look for an entry that configure the wireless to be all the time card.

Where necessary the manual or computer support site must have the necessary info.

  • WiFi Atheros AR5007EG switch after reinstalling Vista.

  • How fast is the Atheros AR5007EG wireless network adapter?

I have an Atheros AR5007EG wireless network adapter in my computer. For six months, we have Broadbank 100Mbit/s in our House. When I call the support (support of the broadband company) they ask me to check if my computer can handle it. How can I check that?

    I think the Atheros AR5007EG is a 802. 11 b / g device. Which would have a maximum speed of 54 Mbps.

    For 100 Mbps, you need a Wireless N - 802.11n device.

  • Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter does not

    Hello

My Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter has stopped working. I tried to update a driver he says not installed correctly. I am running windows 7 32 bit

There should be a little more characters for your PC model Toshiba laptop.  For example, here is the support page for the Toshiba Satellite L300 - ST3502--> http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=2221250

If it was your model, you click on the "Drivers & updates" tab, click on the "Wireless" link under "filter by" and then look for the link "Atheros Wireless LAN Driver for Windows 7 (32/64)" you get to a page where you can download the driver installation package.

Download the driver appropriate for your computer (which may or may be not the same as in the above example) and run the installer.

    Compaq Presario A931NR + basic router F7D1301 Belkin v1 (01)

Belkin told me that I should update my Atheros card driver to use WPA/WPA2.  I can only use WEP with the factory installed Atheros AR5007 802.11.b/g WiFi adapter.  Device Manager reports that the driver software for your device is updated.

    Atheros AR5007 802.11.b/g WiFi adapter

    Driver version: 7.3.201.25

Could there be an update for my Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g adapter
    All the answers most welcome

    TIA

    Hello:

Let's take it from the top...

I know for a fact that you can get your wireless card to work with your Belkin router. sm09 and others were able to get the same card to work on them.  I have every confidence that you can too.

No more than I do (other than you perhaps), wants you to be able to connect to the internet as you had planned to in the first place.

The devil is in the details.

    Here's what I recommend...

    1. Download this driver and remember where you saved it. Do not install it immediately.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-99392-1&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en

    2. go to your network and sharing Center and disconnect your current wireless connection.

    3. go to your device manager, click on the section of the network adapters, and then right-click on your Atheros wireless network adapter.

    4. Select uninstall and then if there is a box to check who says unistall drivers, check this box.

    5 reboot the laptop.

    a. it will detect the card wireless again and can install drivers.  If she did install the drivers, please return to this Atheros device in Device Manager and click on the driver tab, check the driver version and date.

    b. If it is 9.2.0.444 some time in 2011, and then the driver you need to get your adapter to work has been installed.

    c. If the driver is another (earlier) date/version, now, install the file you downloaded previously. After installation, go back and check that the 9.2.0.444 version is now installed. He must have

    6. If the wireless card it does not install when you restart the laptop, now to install the file you downloaded above and check once more to make sure that version 9.2.0.444 is installed.

    7. return to your network and sharing Center and set up your wireless connection as you hear it.  WPA2-Personal - AES.

    8. cross your fingers...

    Paul
