HP G62 B60SV: Hi guys I think to upgrade my CPU!

Hi guys, I think to upgrade my CPU!

I did some research but I couldn't find any information about the CPU, upgrade my PC model.

I have a HP G62 B60SV with an Intel Core i5 460M.

I want to upgrade with an i7 with good Intel HD graphics processor (3000 and more). Thank you!

Your laptop has discrete graphics or only the Intel HD Graphics?

The only Intel i7 CPU that is listed in theHP G62 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guideis:

Processor of Intel Arrandale™ i7-620 M (2.66 GHz, 4 MB
total of L3 cache, 1066 MHz) - Dual core 35 W

  • HP G62-340US: it will be useful to upgrade my CPU?

I recently bought 8 GB of RAM and an SSD of high quality for my 6 year old HP G62-340US, but the computer feels not as fast it should with these updates. I have an AMD 2.2 Ghz processor, but the CPU still seems to be maxing out, even at startup. This doesn't seem right, so I ask you:

Is this old CPU slow down my computer?
If this is the case, is it possible to upgrade my CPU to something newer and fastest?

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post on performance issues and wanted to help.

To start, you can see if anything in this post help with performance problems: HP PCs - increase the performance system and maintenance of your computer (Windows 10) | HP® customer support

IF that is not the case, then you are against some serious limitations.

First of all, your PC did not come with preinstalled Win10, so I think that you have gone to Win10 of Win7, right?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the problem, that you are facing is that Microsoft provides only pilots with the most basic features and what you really need for these features in laptops is the specialized drivers written for the specific material found in laptops - and unfortunately, there is no HP Win10 laptop driver.

This means that your PC is probably NEVER going to be fully functional under Win10 because the pilots is needs for all features simply do not exist!

Secondly, you have installed Win10 32 bit, so you wasted your money by buying this memory.  The 32-bit Windows operating system are limited by the policy of using only a little more than 3.2 GB of memory, regardless of the amount of memory you have in the machine.  There are hacks which allow you to use ALL your memory, but those who violate the license agreement with MS, so we does not allow to refer to them.

    -------------------------------------------------

One possibility, if you want to go to the trouble, is to do a clean installation of Win10 by using media, created using this link: install Windows 10 using the tool of creation of media - Windows help

Note that when you download and build install media, the default tool corresponding to what is already installed on your PC (as in home for the House, and 64-bit to 64 - bit).  While you CAN change these settings, are NOT.  If you do, the media that results will be different and will force you to enter a NEW product code.

Once you have that media, you start from it and install Win10 on top of what you have now.  However, you will lose all settings, configurations, and applications in the process.  So reinstall applications, this is what is required if you go down this road.

However, I did this on an HP DV6 laptop and since then he is working very well!

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

Of course you can upgrade to El Capitan. But I think better if you can change the internal hard drive (SATA drive) in the SSD drive. You will get better results, faster than still, you only have 4 GB. This is mine... MacBook pro in early 2011.

    Hello

Depends on which edition of Vista you use on Windows 7 edition, you can switch to.

And as you use 32-bit, you can only switch to Windows 7 32 bit.

32-bit to 64-bit should be done with a clean install.

Before purchasing Windows 7, follow these steps:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

    Hi,

I see you have a subscription of photography under the enamel even as with the forums.

You can have the creative cloud installed and signed in on two computers as long as you don't use it on one at a time. Download and install as you did on the first computer, sign in to your Adobe account on the Adobe using your Adobe ID website, download the desktop app from clouds, then download the software. Sign on a computer that should not be used: log in and log out of the desktop Adobe Creative Cloud application

You can download the installer for Creative Cloud from here:

  • Thinking about upgrading to Windows 7 from Windows XP

Would like to know if there is a kit to upgrade my Ram RAM 1 G 704?  I have a HP Pavilion a1514n computer.

    Hi, David:

I chose the #1 my first choice was from there, down in priority.

I don't like slimlines (or any what SFF) for 2 reasons:

    1. inadequate heat dissipation.

    2. very difficult to upgrade. Need to worry about low profile devices, media attachment and in the case you want to add a video card, the anemic power supplies they have.

A lot of people like them because they take much real estate. Make nice Home Theater PC.

Touchsmarts, I feel pretty much the same thing for the same reasons.

When you click on one of these PC where I said to add a video card, you can customize your order and select a video card from the list of options.  One of the video cards listed with 1 GB of memory will be enough for your needs.

These maps will give you the possibility to connect an HDMI cable to your TV, where if you do not add one, I do not think that the integrated Intel graphics card gives you this ability.

In addition, a discreet (add) video card uses its own built in memory, Vice President with the PC system memory. If you have more memory for other tasks and better video performance memory embedded discrete video card system. You win the comings and goings.

If you look at some of the features, are there no free updates to 6 GB of memory?

So, let's say that you went with my #1 - the PC desktop HP Pavilion p7 - 1380 t.

Cost with a quad processor core i5 and 6 GB of memory (2 GB memory free update) base = $549.99.

Then, you click on the Customize button and add the video card... (scroll in the upper part of the image after you press the green button and you can select to customize stuff. Just click until you see the graphics card option). So, you want to select the... 1 GB Nvidia GeForce GT620 [DVI, HDMI, VGA via adapter].

Cost is now only $599.99, if you choose any other custom features. $400 under your limit of $1,000.

I'm pretty confident that you will be happy with this Setup. I would be.

But please... do not hesitate to collect other opinions.

I like Intel based PC on AMD. Others will say boo to that, and say AMD is better.

    The choice is yours...

Please share back and let us know what you end up buying and if you wish.

    Kind regards

    Paul

Hello. First of all, let me tell you about my machine:

    HP G62x - 400 CTO laptop

    Model # LD642AV

    [personal information]

    Windows 7 Home premium

I tried to update your Windows 10. At the end of the process, I got an error message saying that the upgrade has failed. I thought - so I'm back to Windows 7 and it's OK. But now I get frequent error messages telling me that the various "points of entry" can not be found on DLL files that seem in Windows 10 ONLY. How can I get rid of the problem?

    Thank you for your help.

    Craig3428

The parition of recovery being present is not enough for the function HP Recovery works - as Win10 corrupts the things inside of this partition, or change the alignment of the partition - no problems you will be able to see.

If F11 does not work, it's a sign of corruption.

  • Currently, PC has viruses that cannot be removed by Mcafee, Avast, etc.. Thinking about upgrading to Windows 7, with a new facility.

A new installation of Windows 7, Home version will get rid of all viruses?
If so, do I just trust antivirus Windows 7 or is there another anti-virus (Avast, McAfee, etc.) I can run at the same time which will take care of any future problems?

There is no "Windows 7 antivirus."  Though is an installation of Windows 7 from XP (which requires a disc format) is almost certainly going to get rid of your current malware problem (there are some "boot sector" virus rare which can survive with a format), you can quickly end up in a similar situation unless you change which seems to be not not very safe computing habits.

The application named "Windows Defender", which is built into Windows 7 is only an anti-spyware tool (also true of Windows Defender for XP and Vista).  You need an antivirus application as well.  Microsoft Security Essentials is the current Microsoft free antivirus app.  As I understand it, MSE is good enough, although I'd rather pay for ESET NOD32 Antivirus.

Whatever you choose, only run a real-time antivirus application, although it is perfectly fine to perform periodic analyses to use another tool.  In addition, it is very important to keep your system up-to-date by setting Windows Update runs automatically.  You must keep your applications up to date as well, because the attacks thanks to various applications such as Adobe Acrobat are not unknown.

You might be interested in reading of the 'response' of MVP Kosh Vorlon in this thread for about a year.

BTW, System Restore is NOT designed to get rid of a malware infection, and probably will not.

Before you begin, you must run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor:

Be aware there is no such thing as an 'upgrade' from Windows XP to Windows 7 - it will be what is called a pure install, programs and settings will be lost during the upgrade.  You can use the Windows Easy Transfer tool to collect files and other first:

Currently have a 9900 and am evaluating whether to upgrade to a Q10.

What I give myself to understand, Q10 works with EAS, how it works with multiple accounts Office365?

Also understand that there are problems with synch EAS causing Exchange to enter the locking of the device for 10 minutes. This problem has been fixed.

How the Q10 will work with a shared calendar Office 365? Eternal problem for mobile devices, are there special apps developed for the Q10 allow access? We do not run Sharepoint.

    Appreciate the answers.

    Thank you. Tom.

Well it does not really a default value in the hub, you will have all your accounts, when you dial, you can bring the account to send from or if you only see one account he chooses the one to send.

Calendar is separated by colors, and when you make a new appointment you just choose which calendar it is posted to.

Even with contacts, even if I found it annoying that when I add or change a contact on the Q10, it removes the category in Outlook and changes my sort of first/last to the last/first.

Battery life is ok, I disable the LTE radio as I did not have that kind of speed to watch just the emails and contacts and allows the battery life much.

    I hope this helps.
