HP G70-460US. new hard drive. How to create a partition recorvery and fill?
I have a laptop HPG70 with Windows Vista 64 Bit OS, which has had problems with disks-errors. I used Clickfree backup completely my computer every week, so I decided to buy a NEW hard drive and recreate the image on my computer on the new drive. I was surprised to find that the instuction to boot from USB attached CLICKFREE device would NOT work on HP laptops! I had to reinstall the old drive, join the CLICKFREE webside and create a Bootable CD with the software easyfix to completely recreate the image on my computer. After the re-installation of the new drive and about 2 hours, the drive of my computer has been completely restored... Hooray!
I was reading the docs from HP on the creation of a DVD cover, just in case catastrophic anothor disk HARD crash, so I decided to create a set of recovery discs as directed by the video... I had never created these because when I bought my computer, I don't have any DVD to create.
I watched 'MY COMPUTER' and I saw that there is a recovery partition (D: on 12 concerts) and open and it just says HP, so I decided to go ahead.
When I started the recovery disc creation program, it gave me the error message that it wasn't any how restore partition and wouldn't create any DVD. I don't have a DVD in the drive, when I started to deal with because I thought he'd JUMP full disc when it started, but never that which until now...
How can I start creating the recovery discs when the recovery disc creation program says there is nothing there?
This is NOT official HP customer service and I, like most other people on this forum do not work for HP. It is a forum for users of peer-to-peer supported for class for the HP consumer products. HP maintains no official presence on this forum and it is unlikely that HP will respond in an official capacity. Response of an employee of HP represents his own opinion and not that of HP.
Given that I do not work for HP and I do not use "Clickfree", I won't be able to figure this out for yourself, or a company. What I can tell you is that when installing a new operating system, an upgrade, or an imaging / backups, pointers on the recovery Partition are lost. By following the steps that I have to offer, most people are able to recover his computer to a factory condition.
The way I would try it, is to make sure that you have a fully functional backup of your operating system partition and all data. Then I would try a recovery using the "HP Recovery Manager'... then 'F11'... and finally, marking the"HP Recovery patition"as active. One of these methods must recover the computer. Once restored, you should be able to create a set of HP recovery disks.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

HP Mini 110-3130NR and the new hard drive - how to create an image and use it?
I want to replace the current hard drive to my HP Mini 110-3130NR of a new SSD.
Ideally, I'd like to copy the disc hard integer on the SSD and then just swap hard disks (create a picture of the current hard drive work in the SSD).
Otherwise, I have an external USB hard drive, so I could save the contents of the original hard drive and restore the image in the SSD. The problem is that HP Mini doesn't have a DVD player/burner, and I fear that it does not start via a USB device.
Any help is welcome. Thank you.
Respect!
OK, all these programs did not help ast all, they still have some problems with SSDS (I tried an Intel X 25-M SSDSA2MH080G2K5 and an OCZ Vertex 2 OCZSSD2-2VTXE120G).
This is so the fix for the problem, all you need a 4 GB flash drive.
In Windows XP, Vista or seven plug the flash drive into the computer, open a command window (type cmd in the search) and type:
DiskPart
In the window that opened type:
list disk
Find the number corresponding to your USB key and type the following commands, replacing X with the number corresponding to your flash drive:
Select disk X
clean
create the primary partition
Select partition 1
assets
format fs = NTFS
Assign
outputThen insert a DVD Windows Seven of INTAL, open the command prompt and navigate to the "Startup" folder in the Windows 7 DVD.
Starting inside this folder, run the command:Bootsect/nt60 W: - replacing the W with the letter assigned to your flash drive.
After that, simply copy the entire contents of the Windows 7 Installation DVD to flash drive, drive to the computer with the newly installed SSD and start from the flahs player.
Enjoy!

I have a HDD making noise and I would like to back up my files and folders, windows mail / my email and contacts so that I can install my system on a new hard drive without losing all my saved information and contacts
backup what option allows me to record the information of e-mail, my files and folders, settings of the computer basically everything but the system itself.
I have a full factory CD/CD that includes an image of windows vista (hp system recovery discs) but that does not include my email info or the files and folders to restore
or is it better to centre commercial simple backup windows separately and how can I do this?
I don't want to lose my contacts and my email saved during the backup process.
I understand the hardware drivers and additional programs will need to be reinstalled and I have all my disks associated with the addition of software/hardware.
Thank you

My laptop broke & I had to buy a new hard drive, how can I get Windows 7 on it? Do I have to buy a disc?
If you create recovery discs when you got the computer, you will need to ask the manufacturer for their recovery disks.

new hard drive, how to reinstall OS x
I have a new hard drive after a crash of the former. How can I install OSX top?
You should be able to boot the Mac using recovery Internet if you updated the firmware to enable.
OS X: on OS X Recovery - Apple Support
If you don't have to update the Firmware to allow it to use the Internet in recovery, you need to use the installation provided with the Mac DVD.
Either way, you start the Mac.
Open disk utility and format the drive under OS X Extended journaled.
Then, quit disk utility and reinstall OS X.
Who will install the operating system on the Mac (likely Lion).
You can then improve it to El Capitan.
If you have a Time Machine backup, you can restore it in recovery from the Internet instead of reinstalling the operating system.

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!
I understand that you can not restore your PC by using the restore disks.
It seems that you did not follow the process of creating media recovery or data backup process.
If you are unable to restore the image by using the discs.
Please use this link to find out how to create a recovery media: http://hp.care/2byIEKi
However, you can contact HP and get a set of system recovery disks.

New HARD drive - how to install Windows?
Hey guys,.
I have a problem with my Dell Dimension 9150. A friend of mine gave me as a gift, because I built his new computer. We put his HARD drive in his new computer.
The problem is: there is no CD of his computer.
I have the original Windows XP and Windows MCE and CD licenses. The Dimension has a MCE key so I would like to install MCE.
After installing a new HARD drive, I tried to install Windows. BIOS shows me the HARD drive. When I start the installation of Windows and choose "Windows Installer", I get to the screen where I can choose, what partition I would use. But installing Windows shows me no HARD drive!
Don't know if I need SATA drivers? If I should need it, where can I find them? And how to get them in the Windows installation? I know that I can load pressing F6, but I don't have a floppy device.
Would be great, if someone could help me.

Install the new hard drive - how to proceed?
My hard drive has bad sectors which (according to Spinrite) is not repairable. I also ran all the HP utilities who tell me that the hard drive needs to be replaced. So, I bought a new one that is the same size and the brand as what exists currently in my laptop.
Laptop is HDX16 that came with Vista. I upgraded to Win7 before realizing that my Imaging backups were a failure due to bad sectors. The last good picture I have with Shadow Protect is the system with Vista and is now 3 weeks old. Meanwhile, I use Norton Security backup feature to back up all my files on a daily basis. I noticed yesterday that Win7 has a built-in backup feature imagery so decided to see if she would complete successfully and he did. So now, I have a picture of the Win7 installation as well.
I did system recovery disks for my laptop. If I read information of HP correctly, when I run the restore, it will automatically create the partitions C & D on the new drive, install the recovery disk D environment and continues to run since that installation of Vista hard disk? If so, once the operating system is running on the hard drive again, I think I can then move to Win7 yet and then use the recovery feature to copy the image, I made yesterday to the laptop. Is this correct? Am I missing something?
Otherwise, my other option would be to run the recovery discs, then use the Shadow protect recovery disks to copy the old image of 3 weeks, then switch to Win7 again and somehow find all the files I have created/changed over the last 3 weeks I want to keep and they copy to the laptop?
Any suggestions appreciated because this is the first time I installed a new hard drive.
Thank you.
JO Anne
Hello
It may be faster to simply restore the image of Windows 7 that you have created the new hard - to do this, you'll need to the Image and a Windows 7 repair CD (you should have been prompted to do this after you have created the Image of the system). The link below is a guide detailing how to restore an Image of Windows 7 on a new hard drive.

I'm trying to get songs from my iPhone to my macbook pro ' after saving my iPhone on a new hard drive, I want to put these songs on iTunes
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup unit and transfer of media has been planned with you keep a master copy of your media on a computer that is itself saved separately against loss. To use a device with a different configuration, you pass the old library from a computer or a backup directly in the new configuration, not the device to the library. Synchronization of media isn't a way, computer to the device, update the contents of the device to the content on the computer, update or restore the content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases that can be transferred to a computer.
Redownload or transfer your iTunes Store purchases an iPhone, iPad or iPod to computer - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201267 - 'this feature only works for content purchased from the iTunes Store. From iOS9 is more apps that now need to be re-downloaded directly from the store.
To transfer other items from an i-device to a computer, you will need to use third-party commercial software. See this document in turingtest2: recover your iTunes library from your iPod or device iOS - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991 even this method can fully recover what you originally had in the library. For example, in order to save space during synchronization if you had converted music files at a lower rate, or photos at a lower resolution, it is these lower quality files that will pick you up.
If you subscribe to the Apple music, titles that are not part of the content that you have purchased or downloaded may not be transferred and must be downloaded directly from iCloud.

HP Probook 4520 s installed new hard drive with Windows 7 pro x 64 and drivers - very lag
Hello
I had my HP Probook 4520 s for 5 years and a few months ago, he started to become very lag, especially when you use the internet, streaming video and games.
I thought I had identified the problem as a bad sector on the hard drive and so I bought a new hard drive and upgraded the RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB at the same time.
When I installed the new hard drive, I couldn't burn an image of my old hard drive (it would stop during the process and was unable to do so because of an error). I used my little HP Windows 7 Pro x 64 operating system DVD and your HP Application and Driver Recovery DVD to install the necessary drivers on my replacement new drive.
The RAM and the new hard drive seem to be good, however, it's more lag. I tried to use latancy monitors to see if the drivers are the issue. It seems that there is a huge amount of latancy and my CPU is at an almost constant usuage of 100%.
LatancyMon points in the following drivers: usbport.sys, tcip.sys, acpi.sys, iastor.sys, ndis.sys, dxgkrnl.sys and so on.
I've seen forums where they will guide you step by step how to determine what drivers are causing latancy. This I could do although he always seems to change drivers who are the cause of the problem and there seems to be a lot of pilots of causing this problem it is so difficult to bring out here that one. In addition, there seems to be no solution to these problems. The only one offered is to update the offending drivers. This does not solve the problem with lag and the latancy yet.
Any ideas?
P.s. I really don't know not what is the underlying issue is here so I don't know if this is the right forum to post in. Drivers may not at all be the issue, I spent the last four weeks trying to solve this problem.
Hello skinandbones13
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
I understand that you have a problem with your laptop. However, since it is a commercial laptop, you should post your question on the map cell of the HP Enterprise Forums for a better answer.
Have a wonderful day!
