HP laptop: query on the function keys

Hello.. m facing problem while increasing and decreasing the brightness... For your kind information, f3 and f2 function keys are used to decrease and increase the brightness respectively... Even if the pop up light appear on the screen when I press the respective keys... bt it decrease or increase brightness... gives a valid and functional solution...

Hello

Try the following.

Download the Intal HD Graphics package on the following link and Save it in your downloads folder.

http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp65501-66000/sp65598.exe

Then, download and reinstall the Chipset driver below.

http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp69501-70000/sp69575.exe

Once done, do not restart as prompted, rather open your download folder, right-click on the Intel graphic installation program and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.

When this is finished, stop the laptop.

Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Let windows take over completely for a few minutes before checking if the keys work now.

Kind regards

DP - K

  • HP Envy 17: Reverse the function keys

    Hey guys,.

My laptop is a very good laptop, with a good graphics card nvidia an i7 cpu and even 16 GB of ram. Even with a 17 inch screen full HD 1920 * 1080, making incredible games! Even GTA V for Pc works quite well on this laptop powerful.

All of these things are an amazing gaming PC, however, it has a match no one back which makes it almost impossible to play a game with good fluidity.

Present a defect of fatal game is actually the keyboard, but to be more precise, it is the function keys. The HP Envy 17 has two F1 - F12 and INSERT key. However, these are the secondary keys. Primary keys are keys system that changes the brightness or volume. That means if I want to use F2 in a game, I have to hold the function key, and then press F2.

This seems minor, but when you play, it can be annoying to have to hold down a function key just to use one of the F keys.

Dies, does anyone know how to get this fixed and reverse the trend, in this way if I want to cut my cell phone that I have to press the function, then the F6 key. I hope that people know what I mean and please if you know of a fix would be great if you could post it below.

    Thank you
    Connor Burnett.

    Hello

Yes, I used the F1 - F12 keys on a daily basis for the last 35 years or so, but fortunately I always use external keyboards using laptops (on or off a docking station). You may not share, but disable. Please use the following article:

  • Re: How to change its use of the function keys?

The function keys on my laptop P870 are keys to double action. You must press the FN key at the same time as the key function F1, F2. In particular, I use the F2 key a lot but have to use 2 hands (unless you have extremely long fingers) to operate the function keys driving me crazy.

    Any suggestions?

If you use open Office assist Win8 > system settings > keyboard and function keys mode change.
Change of cell function special mode reboot and test how it works.

  • How to turn off the function keys? G62-346NR

Hey all, I just signed up to please bare with me if I posted this in the wrong section, thank you!

Anyway, I got want to disable my function keys upper (F1-12) that I'm a player and it requires that the function keys, but it doesn't seem to work in the game, so he just activates the function of the selected key. Then, I looked everywhere and I can't find the manual for this laptop, so I wondering if anyone of you guys/girls know how to disable the function.

    Thank you!

In the BIOS there is a configuration tab. Inside, there is an option to toggle the mode of action of Fn keys. Maybe it's interfering with your game mode. Try disabling it to see if it helps. If yours has an InsydeH2O BIOS then it should substantially the same as this picture.

  • Is there a way where I don't have to use the "Fn" key for the function keys?

If I use my computer hp laptop with Windows 7 that has the standard PS/2 keyboard. I'm just annoyed by the fact that I have to press the "Fn" with the function keys. I searched some of the settings to see if I could find a sort of toggle keys to function or something, but I couldn't find something that seems to help. If someone knows a solution, please answer. Thank you!

    Hello

  • XPS 13 9343 change the function keys

I would like to change/disable the function keys on my XPS 13.  All searches on Google I've seen indicate that you can do this via a setting in the BIOS, but the BIOS EFI in my laptop has no entry to change the function keys.  Is there another way?

OK, finally figured this out... post here so I hope that it helps someone else.

All my research on this indicated that I had to change a setting in BIOS under the section 'System Configuration '.  Obviously this option asked, at least on the A07 BIOS on my XPS 13 9343.  The option that you need to change is now 'Behaviour of PUBLICATION'.  Select "Options of the FN lock" and make sure that "FN lock is verified (it should be... is the default) then be sure to Lock Mode Enable/secondary is selected.»  It is he who turns off the "multimedia" keys  Enjoy.  :)

    Hello

In my opinion one of the important gift of drivers or utilities work and, therefore, you cannot use the FN keys.

If your have installed XP on your test of the G20 to refresh the Toshiba common Modules.
It is an essential tool that controls the FN keys.

The common Modules can be downloaded from the page of European driver of Toshiba.

    Check it out.
