HP M6 1279el - graphic in Metro App win 8.1 is corrupt

Hello.

I have HP ENVY m6-1279el laptop with AMD Radeon HD 7670 M (2 GB dedicated DDR3 memory) and Intel HD 4000.

My OS is Win 8.1 and I have a problem with Metro App. When I started some graphics programs is corrupted. Sometimes I get black screen and when I move my cursor on the screen it shows a part of it.

I have AMD Catalyst Driver: 13.251.9001.1001 - 140704 a - 173665E - ATI with Control Center: 2014.0704.2133.36938.

Help, please.

Dare

Hello.

Thanks for your reply.

It seems that I found the solution to my problems. In AMD Catalyst Control Center, I changed the global settings of Switchable Graphics / Global Application settings / branch:

-before: optimize performance

-now is: optimize energy savings

Graphics in all the Metro Apps work now correctly.

I'll follow your suggestions if any problem appears again.

Kind regards

Dare to Slovenia.

  • Windows 8 metro apps works is not on my HD 1280 x 720 display.

My monitor is resolution 1280 x 720. And I have to set a low resolution 1024 x 768 for metro apps work. It's weird in this resolution. Fix this microsoft. Or is it possible to set a resolution of 1280 x 768 on windows?. The highest resolution I get on windows is 1280 x 720.

The screen resolution you can get will depend on your monitor, your graphics card and drivers of these two devices. Check the specifications of these two devices to see what both are capable of contracting. Update the drivers if necessary (including the graphics card). If possible, then change the resolution to something higher.

If you have a desktop PC, you can always consider upgrading your graphics card. Even the most basic relatively cheap will offer a higher resolution you need. Of course, if the limiting factor is your monitor that would be more expensive.

  • Metro Apps does not it gives me an error code 0 x 80070002.

Well, I feel like I'm beating a dead horse, and I searched through these forums to find answers without end. Either find the thread dead and no patch or the latest comments in 2012 and 2013, so I thought that maybe I could have more luck if I just posted my own question and hope for a response.

This morning, I noticed that none of my apps metro are working, mail, weather, sports, calendar, even the store. I tried some different suggestions I found on here and other sites as well, but nothing seems to work. Initially the apps were all simply not anything, I click on the tile and it would be as if I never clicked on it at all, they would not literally nothing. Now, I noticed that each one of the metro app tiles have a little x in the corner. I did not updates on my computer, I have not filed my OS, I'm still on windows 8, which is installed on my PC and I am not and will not be interested in 8.1. I installed it once when it was first offered for free and it completely destroyed my computer and had to restore everything to the factory and have lost everything.

    I've tried so far, corrections

1 reset the app store - I was able to reset the cache by using the WSReset.exe and it does restore and restore the app store, so that the store works now but still nothing else.

2 update apps have proven to be updated applications and he always tells me ' this application has not been installed - view details "when you click on details it give me the error code 0 x 80070002.

3 uninstalled apps - try to reinstall I get the same error as above (0 x 80070002) code.

    Hello

    Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community. Could you please answer the following questions so that I can help you better.

    1. do you use proxy connections to connect to the internet?
    2. do you get an error message?

    3. What is the brand and model of the computer?

You may experience this problem if the applications or drivers of graphics cards are not updated. Follow the steps in troubleshooting of these methods and check if that helps:

    Method 1:
You can see the link to download and run the Troubleshoot utility app on the computer that checks all the problems with Windows applications on the computer:

    Step 1:

    Run the troubleshooter of App

Before I provide the steps for troubleshooting the app, I want you to know some basic information before running an application:

    > User account control settings need to be enabled.
Note: User Account Control (UAC) notifies you before changes are made to your PC that requires administrator-level permission. By default, UAC is set to warn you as soon as apps try to make changes to your PC, but you can change how often UAC notifies you.
    > To align the apps, you need at least 1366 x 768 screen resolution.
    > Requires Microsoft account.

Note: This utility automatically corrects some problems that may prevent your running applications, including the suboptimal screen resolution and security or incorrect account settings.

Run the Troubleshooter of Apps. This tool can automatically identify and fix problems with the applications.

Step 2: Please consult the following link for troubleshooting if the troubleshooter does not help:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/what-troubleshoot-problems-app

Method 2: I suggest to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for video card and check.

First, download the graphics card drivers on computer manufacturer website:

    1. Press the Windows key + X, and then select Device Manager.
    2. You can look for graphics cards and expand it.
    3. Right-click on the graphics card and choose uninstall.
    4. Install the downloaded drivers restart the computer and check.

If not being able to find a driver for your device, see the website of the manufacturer of the device, or insert the CD-ROM supplied with the device, and then follow the instructions to install the software.

I hope this helps. If you need help with Windows, let us know and will be happy to help you.

  • Metro apps does not work after the withdrawal of the UAC GPO

We use a GPO to disable UAC for the domain.  We then block this GPO to the OU where we put Windows 8 test machines and work apps UAC and metro very well. However, during testing, we found that if the GPO is applied (by putting the Win 8 box in a different OU), and then deleted (by putting the box 8 win in the test ORGANIZATIONAL unit), metro apps still don't work. they open and then close immediately, but the UAC seems to work as it should.  Then, we created an another GPO and applied to the test OR, which reverses more precisely the elements that we have changed for the GPO original, thinking that the original GPO changed something that was left in this state after the removal of the box to win 8 back into the test ORGANIZATIONAL unit.  Metro apps still don't work.  We have tried all the suggested methods found in other posts, but none works.  The app fix find some security issues and the "fixed", but which did not help either.  The keys that we change specifically in the GPO are:

User account control: behavior of the guest of elevation for administrators in Admin Approval Mode, increase the value without asking confirmation

User account control: detect application installations and ask the elevation, disabled

User account control: only elevate UIAccess applications that are installed in safe places, select disabled

User account control: turn the Admin Approval Mode, select disabled

Any help for Metro applications to work again would be appreciated.

Thanks, but I finally understood my problem.  It's a registry setting of GPO, not associated with UAC settings themselves.

  • Webcam Skype does not work Desktop App, no metro App

Skype desktop app works perfectly, but the metro app fails to open my webcam. I use Windows 8 64-bit with camera Logitech C920.

The camera shows app launch: 'sorry. The camera cannot be used with this version of Windows. "I also tried installng Logitech Camera Controller app in App Store, but the problem persists.

I managed to solve the problem of roll back my display driver. I repeat, * driver *, no webcam display driver. Video chat now works in the metropolitan area of Skype.

  • Question 8 metro Apps Windows

This question is about the Metro of Windows 8 applications. If this is not the right place for him ask then please tell me the right place to post that I can't find a site to Windows 8 issues anywhere. I currently have a Windows 8 Developer Preview installed on my netbook, and it runs as fluid as a glass of water, but none of the Metro applications worked. I thought that since this was a developer version, apps are non-functional. Not long after this event, I plugged my computer via a RGB cable to a bigger screen. I've accidentally hit a metro app while sailing on the start menu, and to my surprise, she and other applications, works great. I have disconnected the monitor and tried to start again the same apps with my monitor netbook, but it did not work as before. So my question is, the metro apps have a ceiling of resolution? My resolution is 1280 x 600. Very confused.

If this is not the right place for him ask then please tell me the right place to post that I can't find a site to Windows 8 issues anywhere.

None of the Metro applications worked
    My resolution is 1280 x 600.

1024 x 768 is the minimum for Metro applications, they do not work because your resolution is too low.

You can try this modification in order to allow higher resolutions (or use your external monitor):

When you use the metro apps the computer displays a black background instead of a text being illegible white

So basically I can't use the metro beyond the home screen interface
    Know of a solution:
    Using
    i7 processor
    640 m GPU NVIDIA
    6 GB memory
It could be a driver problem or there at - it an option to change

You have FXAA enabled in the NVidia Control Panel? That was the problem for me.

You can't eliminate it.  However, you can download and install the classic interface of http://classicshell.sourceforge.net/ that will bring back the Start button on the desktop and concentrate more on the desktop.

System Restore creates a restore point "Undo" which allows you to cancel any act performed by the system restore.  In other words you can duck in time and if you don't like it you can return to the present.

System Restore is a tool of recovery in the short term.  Dating two months in time isn't what it is so that a lot of work such as updates and settings not replaced and should be repeated.  She will play with happiness this task however.

To work around this problem, you must actually connect to the built-in administrator.   Open a command prompt (Admin) with admin rights by using the Windows key + X then select this option.   At the prompt, type:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes

Then disconnect from your regular account and folder administrator integrated, where you might be able to install the update.  When you are finished, open a session to your regular account and, for security reasons, disable the built-in using administrator account:

  • My default metro apps have stopped working on one of my accounts (1).

My default metro apps have stopped working on one of my accounts (1). This is a new computer with pre-installed software, and I don't want to do a system restore. I tried troubleshooting app now prevail, my norton antivirus was recently deleted, reinstalled and updated Norton. It seems that the only applications that open are those who go to the old UI (32-bit) screen. I can't call same pdf because an application is used to open it. Simply, it opens and closes almost immediately. I got an error "the remote procedure call failed." ??? It's nice, but what I do about it? All my searches on google did not a solution. I could like windows 8, if I could every get this works for me instead of working me for her. The account that does not work is the first story that I created on the machine, so it was created as a default Administrator account. I created a new account admin can I now change the name of the 'standard' account on the old account and then delete it? (I know I have to move some files first). I had a local account for my wife, and when that happened, I simply deleted and made an account of microsoft for it and all its apps still work. Internet solutions has suggested that it might be something "group policy". I have no idea what that means, I'm not a person I.T.. I'm really sorry, I bought this HP machine with windows 8. It seems that I have spend more time trying to understand how to solve what I do to use it. I paid a lot of money for it and thought I was getting a machine of high quality with the latest and greatest software solution and would be able to stay in place through technology. Would be nice if it actually worked.

Because I've had my laptop cleaned and reloaded I try not to use this machine much more simply because my account has problems of application. It's pretty sad. Microsoft please do the right thing and find this bug and send an update of windows to make it is transparent to the user, if you want us to continue to keep our faith in the Microsoft solution. Not everyone is a computer expert.

Thanks for any help you can provide (I got this computer since December).

  • Language in Metro apps do not match selected language.

I have the German language pack installed on my computer (Windows 8 Pro) where the main language is English (Canada). I use it for software testing in German, so I switch frequently. I noticed that whenever I pass from German to English, most of Metro applications remains in German. Some have a language setting, some don't. For example, games, music or maps (Speile, music and maps). Even after a reboot, the German remains. I spent all that I can find, language, input method, time, date and place. The office is entirely in English, but many metro apps is still German.

    Any ideas?
