  • death sudden nx7300

In an institution of higher education (Theological Seminary) I help provide technical support and a doctoral student has reported that an HP laptop works well before the evening meal was "dead" after the meal. He was off and does not turn on.

I did a search on nx7300 and had no "hits".

    Troubleshooting steps:

    * removed the battery

    * I tried AC power only - no light and no sign of life

    * disconnected the power and put the battery back in

    * the button works / stop it are successively four flashes (low) to the "lightening bolt" icon near the edge front of the keyboard service - no light of the hard drive etc.

    * removed coverage for the RAM. There is a single chip and it is 512 MB. Removed the DIMM then re-firmly laid and put back the cover (one screw)

Two or three years ago, another regular student had a computer HP laptop stop working suddenly. In this case, when she bought an adapter replacement for everything returns to normal and worked well.

Anyone else with HP nx7300 had this happen?

Yes, he has all the symptoms of a bad power supply. The hot flashes that see you with the battery are the last signs of life in it. The AC is dead and drain you all the power of the battery. You should get a power light when you plug in the AC. If this is not the case, he's dead. I'm about 85% sure this diagnosis, so it is useful to do a new power adapter.

  • Update CPU on HP Compaq nx7300

    Hello

What type of CPU can I put in my HP Compaq nx7300 instead of

    /FSB Celeron M 440 1.86/533?

    Thank you.

    Hello:

I copied and pasted the release notes for the update of the BIOS that adds support for these processors.

    Improvements

-Includes a new version of the Intel support code for mobile CPUs: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7000 and T5000 Mobile processors. NOTE: This code of Intel support was provided to HP as a critical software update. This system ROM update has no impact on the known performance.

Here is the link to all the notes of revisions.

    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=3310301&swItem=ob-65080-1&prodNameId=3310302&swEnvOID=1093&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=5

The way I see it, is that an update of the BIOS allows now for these processors.

They will run at 667 MHz full if they work.

My opinion is that HP never updated the plug processor on the link I posted.

Unfortunately, the service manual don't be difference by model or chipset.  Just, it lists all the processors supported in Chapter 1.

  • 1333 RAM in a MacBook 1066?

    Hey all,.

Last week, I got 8 GB 1333 RAM someonei Elpida to upgrade 2GB 1066 in my white 2010 MB. However, when I put in, the computer issues only with the standby light flashes (RAM error (I think). I have seen on several other places that will RAM down the clock to your bus speed, and the RAM is certainly not defective (I took it out of the friend said 2009 MBP 13 "with a screen recently broken, and there he had worked perfectly for a while). Anyone know what is happening or how to fix it?

    Thank you!

What is going on? It's the bad ram.

How to fix? Get the right ram.

Sorry to be so blunt but Mac need exact ram spec, yours is not close. It might work using a single original chip of 1066 MHz and 1333 MHz but a chip it is doubtful, and it can be unstable. It will not work using the modules faster ram, no way, no how.

  • Early 2008 iMac RAM Upgrade

    Hello

I have my old iMac bought in early 2008. It works very well and did an amazing job. However as time progressed so also the OS X has progressed on my iMac too. Snow Leopard, I moved to El captain.

The maximum memory I have is 4 GB of RAM (2 GB * 2 LOCATIONS). But recently, I discovered that there are a lot of buffering going on and I'm sure it's due to lack of RAM. A lot of paging happens I think between the RAM and the HARD drive.

My question to the readers of this message is:

Can I go head and buy a Stick 4 GB RAM (DDR2 - 800 Mhz - 4 GB of RAM). What might be the implications of material. Although the chip itself is very expensive, I fear not buy if this will help my iMac to better respond to requests.

Comments appreciated by all those who have done this kind of upgrade.

    Thanks for reading my message.

    Best wishes

    DeSmet

Your iMac can actually use up to 6 GB of ram. Buy ram from a friendly seller Mac as OWC http://eshop.macsales.com/

    or critical http://www.crucial.com

That said even with 6 GB your old iMac can't run your expectations with El Capitan. An older operating system like Mountain Lion might better work in 4 or 6 GB of ram on your machine http://www.apple.com/shop/product/D6377Z/A/os-x-mountain-lion

  • Envy 15-j104el: updated NETWORK WiFi card and RAM update

    Goodmorning to everyone

I write this post to ask for information on the possibility to do an upgrade of hardware on my HP Envy 15-j104elsystem.

    That's what I would do:

-Replace the network card (NIC) to a wireless better and possibly with a compatible AC NIC.

-Update to 16 GB of ram, put benches with CL9 SODIMM

The questions that I want to bring to your attention are:

-There is a 'white list' for the wifi card on my BIOS (actually F66)?
(consultation with the service manual there are little NIC OEM selled, y at - it ONLY compatible?)

-Put the sticks of ram CL9 (instead of CL11 currently OEM mounted), I can inprove the overall performance?

    I want to install are:

    -Intel Wireless-AC 7260 more Bluethoot HMC 4.0

    -Kingston HyperX Impact DDR3L 16 GB (2x8gb) SODIMM 1600 Mhz CL9 (Kit)

According to your experiences, is it compatible? I can buy them without any problem?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me. Thanks for your suggestions

In particular, I take this opportunity to greet and also need the help of my friend @visruth ;)

    1. no whitelist. Your laptop was conducted after HP stopped using a white list so that you can install any card with the right form factor and the number of antennas. The Intel 7260 card should work.

    2. you can install the CL9 memory but it will not do anything all run faster. The motherboard is made to operate at the speed of the OEM memory so the Kingston Hyper-X will work, but the specifications of it in operation will be the same as memory OEM.

  • Satellite Pro 4600 (PS460E-02HYXEN) - where to buy extra RAM?

I'm trying to locate an extra for the above laptop RAM on behalf of a friend. I tried the usual places for RAM, without success. They suggested to contact Toshiba direct, but I can't find anything on the UK on RAM direct purchase from Toshiba site. I understand that this model can accommodate up to 512 MB, the vehicle currently has 256 MB (2 x 128 MB). The laptop is running Windows XP Home.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hey Buddy,

Yes, to you on time. I checked the user manual and founded the following information:
Two locations to accommodate the following modules:
    64 MB
    128 MB
    256 MB

This means that you can pass to 512 MB (256 MB in each slot).

Also I never heard that you can buy RAM Toshiba directly. You can contact the service provider authorized in your country. They can sell these modules and install it for you. :)

Hynix and Micron produce good RAM modules. I suggest that you go for 4X2GB DDR2-800 memory sticks. Here are the specifications of memory supported by the motherboard:

    Dual channel memory architecture
    Four connectors DIMM DDR2 240-pin
    Supported DIMM types:
    DDR2-800
    DDR2-667
    Memory non - ECC, unbuffered
Supports DIMM DDR2 2 GB modules
Supports 8 GB on 64-bit PCs
    Supports 4 GB * on 32-bit PCs
NOTE: * actual available memory may be less
