  • All-in-one Officejet 4630: black lines at the copy and acanning

Hello... I just bought this all-in-one today, and it is printing very well.  The problem is with the copy and scan.  No matter if I place the original on the scanner or the top of the page, the result is the same... sheet is covered with black lines of variable thickness, running up and down the page, while the details of the actual document are barely visible underneath (or colored lines if I select color printing).

Not an expert tech by any means, so hard to solve this problem.  Have re-installed... rebooted the printer cartridges... try to print with a cartridge installed... nothing work so far.

Any help or advice is welcome and appreciated!

    Hi @D_Corbs ,

I see you got black lines during the scanning of the bucket and the ADF. I can help you with this.

I would like to do a hard reset to see if that will solve the problem.
Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector.
This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

If the problem persists, please update the firmware of the printer. E-all-in-one printer drivers HP Officejet 4630.

Installed software for a Windows laptop and if I open the program "HP OfficeJet 4630 Series" / icon on the desktop I can choose the option of OCR of the category of analysis. With the Macbook Pro, I'm on now, I don't see anything like that. Thank you

I talked to a technician and solve the problem.  For some reason any scanning HP app was not showing in the Mac Applications folder, which it is now. What I don't understand is what OCR really means because I just saved a scanned in the rich TEXT format document and it is editable. It wasn't always the case I think that scanning an image required OCR technology so that it can be modified according to me. So what is the point of the OCR now if it appears as saving an image as a RTF (or other format that I suspect) allows for editing?

    Thank you.

Sorry for the double post and I check this thread as resolved, although I'd love to hear my understanding of confusion OCR addressed.

There should be an option in layout to "Flip on long edge" or "return on the short edge.  Change this setting to change the orientation of the back page.

If this does not resolve the problem that, please indicate what operting system you have and the number of exact model.

  • How to get around the problem of printing from the printer driver Adobe PDF for Notepad instead of a PDF Document?

How to get around the problem of printing from the printer driver Adobe PDF for Notepad instead of a PDF Document? I tried the tool 'Repair Acrobat Installation' and other problems listed on the forums, but nothing worked. In the Notepad document is the following ' % [ProductName: distill] % X937B6DD4 not found, using the mail service.» X07BB154E not found, by using the messaging service. % [Page: 1] %% % [Page: 2] % % [Page: 3] % % [Page: 4] % % [Page: 5] % X4EEBB81F not found, by using the messaging service. %% [Error: invalidfont;] OffendingCommand: show; ErrorInfo: CharOffsets ss %% [Flushing: rest of work (end of file) will be ignored] %% %% [warning: PostScript error.] No PDF file produced. ] %%."

The log file indicates that the Distiller cannot find fonts and besides, fonts with very weird names. (These names can often appear when printing from an application, WPF such as Internet Explorer 9, 10 or 11.)

My best guess is that the problem is with the options set for the PostScript of PDF from Adobe printer driver instance. Exit the application you were initially impression since. Open the Adobe PDF printer Properties . Then click the Advanced tab. Then click on the button default printing . This should produce a significant window default print Adobe PDF is already opened in the Adobe PDF settings tab. On this tab, there is a checkbox to rely on system only fonts; do not use fonts in the document. If this box is checked, uncheck it and press apply , then OK. Then go to the general tab and press the button Preferences giving the window entitled Adobe PDF printing preferences. Again once, look for the box to rely on system only fonts; do not use document fonts. If this box is checked, uncheck it and press apply , then OK. Then back in the Adobe PDF Properties dialog box main, press apply (if it is enabled), and then click OK. Re-enter the app you were original print and try to print again. Let us know if that fixes the problem.

PS: Unfortunately, rely on fonts system only turned on by default, causing problems for many applications. I always recommend turning it off (i.e., unchecking it)!

  • AcroPDF in VB6 - text to search in the PDF and print this page.

Okay, so I'm sure this question has been asked and answered 100 times, but for some reason that my Googling skills are seriously miss you today...

I have a legacy application built in Visual Basic 6 that generates a special form letter PDF documents.  Each PDF contains all letters that were printed so far.  I really it work all rather decently, but something came earlier that put me on programming new obsession.  I want to activate the following features of my application:

    1. The user provides a text string that must be unique among all pages of all PDF (customer ID).
    2. The application then finds the PDF containing this text string that identifies which number of the page containing this text string.
    3. Finally, send only this page to the printer.

I can now easily create, view, and print the PDF of my application.  While the creation of the document is made in a third of the reports system, display and printing functions are essentially managed using AcroPDF.dll.  Through the properties and methods available for AcroPDF object, I see that I can tell it to print only the specified pages, which gives me the last part of my needs, and I have the part of the user input down pat.  I'm just totally puzzled to find a solution to the 'step 2 '.

Suggestions, ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated.  I'm a little tired of banging my head against a wall.  Thank you for your time.

If you are only using Adobe Reader, then this feature is available.

If you have Adobe Acrobat, then you have a few options.

  • OfficeJet 4630: My old 13 OfficeJet 4630 months fell from the network this summer and I can't put it back on

Printers and copiers have always been the bane of my existence!  Last summer, I replaced my old Epson with a new 4630 OfficeJet to gives me a few years peace.  Peace lasted for about 9 months, and then he fell just the network.  I made a few weak attempts to put on, and then abandoned.  Now, the school is in session and grandchildren want to use the printer.  I therefore once more, Tech-granny trying to fix another printer who hates me.  I started by turning off the printer and it turn.  I whipped on the menu of the printer until I found wireless, then selected the wireless configuration wizard.  He discovered my network but not remember the password.  I lightened it with the password and she confirmed that it was connected.  Imagine my joy!  I run a wireless network test, then print a network configuration page.  After removing all printers from my Mac earlier, I now tried to add the OfficeJet.  My beloved Mac has argued that it saw no printer, that he did not even a hint of a printer. Being a martial art Granny and I was near the end of the roll, I decided to jam printer said throat of the Mac by entering the IP address of the printer directly from the configuration page.  My sweet Mac have searched and searched - and then communicated to me that "device is inaccessible.  Well, shit!  Strength of the network is 4, it sounds good.  Is this good?  I have to move the printer closer to the router?  For now, the victories of network and I lost.  I hate losing.  Why the hell a printer works perfectly fell on the net in the first place?  Grandma needs wine!

I called Apple. We have reinstalled the operating system and everything works.

  • HP Officejet 4630 e-all-in-one: problem of margin Officejet 4630

I need to have a few very small margins on a document.  Even if I set the margin to 0, when I print it is always about a 1/2 inch margin and cutting off content that shows well on the page mode.  I use a Mac with os x Yosemite.

    Help please!

    Hello @lauriekeys,

Thanks for getting back to me about this issue. I'm sorry to hear that the setting without borders could not solve your problem. Now, I'm going to make sure that your driver is properly installed on your Mac OS X 10.10 Operating System. On Mac OS X 10.10 sometimes a generic driver from Apple AirPrint will load on your printer and gives you only the basic printing functionality. To ensure that this is not the case, can I please have you perform the following steps:

    How to check the driver:

    1. click on the menu Apple and then click on System Preferences.

    2. click on Print & Scan

    3. click the name of your printer on the left side, click the sign minus (), then remove the printer.

    4. click the sign plus (), click Add a printer or a Scanner, click the name of your printer.

    5. click on the area of use or with the help of Print and then select the name of your printer in the context menu

    6. click Add to add the printer to the list.

    7. close Print & Scan

Once the correct HP Officejet 4630 e-all-in-one printer driver is checked during loading, please try printing your document again.

If the issue persists, please should I tell you:

    1. what type of program you are using to print the document with the small borders of?

    2. What size is the page that you print with small borders (letter, legal, 4 X 6, etc.)?

Please let me know if the steps I have provided resolve your problem of margins. I look forward to hear from you!

  • Connected HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus status reads "problem with printer."

I could just ePrint on an OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus replacement and them have not used for printing yet. I was in the devices page to manage the settings and change an address for one of my devices. The newly added column 8600 State reads 'Online', but also 'problem with printer '. Instructions I was referring to the display panel of the unit for Outlook2003 on the given problem. A check of the display surface showed no information, just a typical home screen. I checked through the display print and found no problems-all functionality is enabled and fully functioning. I checked then the functions of printer in the window 'Printers and devices' of all computers (all running Windows 7 Professional) on the office network. The 8600 are active and full functionality works correctly between the printer and all the computers.

I then close the printer 8600, left for several minutes, and then lit it back and reconnected. The State says 'Problem with printer' remains in the device window HP.

I am at a loss as to what this supposed problem can be and don't know what should be a next step. Does anyone have any advice or information that could help in this situation? It would be appreciated. Thanks in advance to those who could help

HP support responded to my question by e-mail. I was told that the message 'Problem with the printer' is due to a bug in their system. Also said that as long as the status column indicates the printer is "Online" and everything else is fnctioning correctly, don't worry about this.

I consider that a resolution of the post!

Download you the manual and read it with a blanket as I just told him? Yes, the printer has WPS, simply follow the instructions in the manual (page 82) to see if get you lucky. The blue wireless light flashing means that you are not connected to your SSID, which basically we knew that routers. Follow the manual and try to connect via WPS, if not read all sections on troubleshooting.

No amount of fiddling with the controls does make a difference. In previous versions, there was an empty query in the top pane, along with a button to add more.
