  Hi, I have a HP Deskjet D1660, which I am trying to install on my MacBook Pro running Windows 7 64 - bit on Boot Camp.  I installed it successfully on my side Mac that is running Lion, but when I try to install with Windows, it says that I don't have the USB drivers, nor the USB hardware that I need to install the printer.  I ran through all the suggestions of troubleshooting on the HP site, nothing helps.  Any suggestions?   Install a Windows driver on a Windows operating system that is installed on a Macintosh (Bootcamp) could be possible, but not assured.

  Installation of Windows with Bootcamp is in reality a virtualization of the Windows operating system which has received by the Mac operating system.

  The USB drivers used by Windows are actually those of Mac OS, this is why the installation cannot find the original Windows drivers.

  I found an exchange of views with a workaround presented to work on Apple's site, it's worth a try, however no guarantee:

  1) Run the HP installation package executable (i.e. OJP8500vA909full_12en.exe)
  2) When asked to choose the extract directory, make a note of where it is installed. Easiest way would be to tell it to extract to a folder named HP on the Desktop.
  3) Navigate to the extracted installation folder (using Desktop\HP in this example)
  4) Go to the "Setup" subdirectory (Desktop\HP\Setup)
  5) Move, delete or rename the Intel USB System Check utility (usbready.exe)
  6) Double click the Setup executable in the main extraction folder (Desktop\HP\Setup.exe)

  You need to ENABLE 'Secure Boot' and 'Legacy Support' in the BIOS before installing Windows 7. There may be other BIOS settings that need to be changed and you may need to provide USB and/or AHCI driver before the installation will proceed.

  Many Windows 7 drivers for the Software page and the driver HP Pavilion Notebook 15 t - ab000 CTO (ENERGY STAR) - should work on your computer. Please do not use BIOS and download the firmware for this model.

  I upgraded my Satellite Pro L300 Windows Vista to Windows 7 a few months back, now, I noticed the Player DVD no longer works! All ok in Device Manager, but the habit of reading anything.

  I have use a Toshiba Windows 7 upgrade disk that could be my problem. I used the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and Windows 7 Ultimate disc.

  I tried to download and install the latest Windows 7 32 bit DVD Toshiba drivers but still no joy.

  Can someone advise procedure I should follow to correct, if I need to downgrade back to Vista, hope not!

  But unfortunately; the XP drivers are not availbel for this good old classic;

  However, you should look for in the area of the ARCHIVE.

  Check the driver page and choose:
  Archive-> Satellite Pro-> 43xx Pro Satellite-> Satellite Pro 4340

  It seems that the sound card chip is Yamaha...
  Google for maybe audio driver Yamaha that you will find something.

Please go through all the material supplied with the computer. If you are unable to find the Windows 10 media, please contact HP Customer Support in your region for assistance.

  I found this tool from Microsoft that allows you to hide updates that don't work, or mess up your PC if they work, (as a synaptics touchpad update has done on my laptop).

Physically disappears the 40 GB hard drive with XP Pro and the 320 GB drive (currently 1 player) will be used as drive 0 and Windows 7 Pro is installed. He probably won't be partitioned into two drives. A Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor report was generated for this computer, and is the main concern of this report, "virtualization technology is not supported, this PC does not support hardware virtualization assisted". As you know that this statement refers to the XP mode which is optional for Windows 7 Professional.  My question is what material makes this PC not support for virtualization technology, and this PC can be modified to support the necessary hardware. I'm a novice at this sort of thing so maybe I do not understand what that means here the report. In addition, another concern of mine is how will the PC really run Windows 7, it will be too slow for example. I would appreciate your help and comments.

  There is no processors VT supported for the dc7100, so activation of VT in this machine is not going to happen.

  If you have integrated Intel card, is not entirely Windows 7 or Vista capable.
