DeskJet Pro 8610: DeskJet Pro 8610 Windows XP error

I had problems with the operation the 8610 Officejet Pro Windows XP. Whenever I try to print a test page, I just get a generic error asking me to start the troubleshooter, which does absolutely nothing. It only gives me an error of sorts. I have chekced the error log and it tells me that it is the printer driver. I re-installed the printer using different drivers and nothing seems to work.

The same problem happens if I install the printer on a server and try printing from XP. I'm going to rebuild the machine, but I don't know if it will work either. Is there a work around, I really want to have to rebuild every XP machine, whenever we get an HP printer.

I thought about it. I think just the HP driver on their site doesn't work with XP anymore. I used an older CD for an HP 8600 printer, and which seems to have done the trick. Thanks for your help.

  • How can I install my deskjet d1660 on windows 7?

    Hi, I have a HP Deskjet D1660, which I am trying to install on my MacBook Pro running Windows 7 64 - bit on Boot Camp.  I installed it successfully on my side Mac that is running Lion, but when I try to install with Windows, it says that I don't have the USB drivers, nor the USB hardware that I need to install the printer.  I ran through all the suggestions of troubleshooting on the HP site, nothing helps.  Any suggestions?     Install a Windows driver on a Windows operating system that is installed on a Macintosh (Bootcamp) could be possible, but not assured.

    Installation of Windows with Bootcamp is in reality a virtualization of the Windows operating system which has received by the Mac operating system.

    The USB drivers used by Windows are actually those of Mac OS, this is why the installation cannot find the original Windows drivers.

    I found an exchange of views with a workaround presented to work on Apple's site, it's worth a try, however no guarantee:

    1) Run the HP installation package executable (i.e. OJP8500vA909full_12en.exe)
    2) When asked to choose the extract directory, make a note of where it is installed. Easiest way would be to tell it to extract to a folder named HP on the Desktop.
    3) Navigate to the extracted installation folder (using Desktop\HP in this example)
    4) Go to the "Setup" subdirectory (Desktop\HP\Setup)
    5) Move, delete or rename the Intel USB System Check utility (usbready.exe)
    6) Double click the Setup executable in the main extraction folder (Desktop\HP\Setup.exe)

    I upgraded my Satellite Pro L300 Windows Vista to Windows 7 a few months back, now, I noticed the Player DVD no longer works! All ok in Device Manager, but the habit of reading anything.

    I have use a Toshiba Windows 7 upgrade disk that could be my problem. I used the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and Windows 7 Ultimate disc.

    I tried to download and install the latest Windows 7 32 bit DVD Toshiba drivers but still no joy.

    Can someone advise procedure I should follow to correct, if I need to downgrade back to Vista, hope not!

    I think you might find the drivers on the European driver Toshiba page
    But unfortunately; the XP drivers are not availbel for this good old classic;

    However, you should look for in the area of the ARCHIVE.

    Check the driver page and choose:
    Archive-> Satellite Pro-> 43xx Pro Satellite-> Satellite Pro 4340

    It seems that the sound card chip is Yamaha...
    Google for maybe audio driver Yamaha that you will find something.

    I can't downgrade my hp 6305 pro from windows 7 to windows xp.
    I downloaded the official driver SP58784 for platform amd ahci compatible raid controller x 86, I loaded it on a floppy and more have created a cd with nlite windows xp with the device driver.
    When I try to start installation cd ahcix64.sys tells me that the file is damaged and it stops the process.
    When I try to run from the disk will format the drive, but when to write the installation files in the floppy drive stop and request the driver ahci amd disc and the installation continues despite the floppy with the driver is already present drive A:

    You should have received the Windows 10 Pro media as described on the auction site. This media can be in a plastic bag that came with the computer. Please go through all the material supplied with the computer. If you are unable to find the Windows 10 media, please contact HP Customer Support in your region for assistance.

    Before installing Windows 10, please make your restore media Windows 7 Pro.

    The solution to both of these post say is to disable the update is not tried to be applied, however, I use Windows 10 and it seems to be an option to ignore an update than previous versions of windows.

    I found this tool from Microsoft that allows you to hide updates that don't work, or mess up your PC if they work, (as a synaptics touchpad update has done on my laptop).

As you know that this statement refers to the XP mode which is optional for Windows 7 Professional.  My question is what material makes this PC not support for virtualization technology, and this PC can be modified to support the necessary hardware. In addition, another concern of mine is how will the PC really run Windows 7, it will be too slow for example. I would appreciate your help and comments.

    There is no processors VT supported for the dc7100, so activation of VT in this machine is not going to happen.

    If you have integrated Intel card, is not entirely Windows 7 or Vista capable.
