HP Pavilion 15 laptop: upgrade Windows 10 issues now with touch pad / mouse

Product # is J0Z35UA #ABA, I have problems with the functionality of scrolling using the Mouse touchpad since the upgrade to win 10. During the scroll a web page, the Cortana search box will pop up. I disabled all the parameters in Cortana, I also updated the Synaptics drivers and he always keeps poping up upward.

Driver is 19.0.12.98 7/28/2015

In addition, after a reboot are changing the Synaptics mouse settings? It wil enable reverse scrolling? Very annoying and it has been for a long time for me to be able to roll back of win8, but I would if I could.

@fuzzbalz:

That some people have reported, is that, by going in the settings of the BIOS on the main tab, by changing the Advanced setting at the base, their features returned.

If this is not the same for the BIOS settings, or if that doesn't work, you can try to use the synaptic website touchpad drivers: http://www.synaptics.com/en/drivers.php
Note the comment on the page to set a Restore Point before trying one of these drivers.

Here is a link to the page of Web TenForums where you can download drivers and find out the results of the use of these drivers with HP machines: http://www.tenforums.com/drivers-hardware/18282-latest-synaptics-touchpad-driver-windows-10-a.html

    [Personal information]

    Hello Parvezb ;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post on Windows 10 Upgrade and wanted to help.

I never cease to be amazed by the amount of misinformation that MS representatives give people on Win10!

Rumors started about Win8 NOT be eligibile for the Win10 upgrade because people could not do it from Windows Update. But later, MS released information on the upgrade paths, and he showed be extensible Win8 to Win10 using Win10 media.  So what rep MS told you that he was not eligible for Win8 doesn't even know their own products!

You CAN actually go to Win10 when you want - using the tool of MS Media: 10 Windows Installer using the media - Windows help authoring tool

With this tool, you have the option of (1) creation of installation of Win10 (USB or DVD) media, (2) download an ISO file, (3) update the PC directly.  If all you want to do is updated on this PC, then choose the option: upgrade this PC now.

    Good luck

  • Pavilion dv7-4180: upgrade Windows 7 to 8

    Hi all

I have a HP Pavilion dv7-4180 using Windows 7.  I bought a Windows 8 of Microsoft and the Bill says:

"Earn 8 32-bit/64-bit English VUP DVD."

Online Microsoft provides this statement (quoted):

«Download and install Windows 8.1 to Windows 7»
    1. sign in to your Microsoft account
    2. in the menu of left, click downloads, subscriptions and product key
    3. find your purchase Windows 8.1, and then click Download
    4. If a dialog box appears, click Run to start the installation
5 follow the instructions in the installation wizard to complete the installation of Windows 8.1 "

Before thiis upgrade, is there advice that I should follow to avoid an honest mistake?  For example, losing a feature because of the upgrade?

    Thanks for your comments.

    Thank you.

You can do this and see if there are drivers that manufacturing has to W8 for that specific material. But you should check the site driver from HP for your P/N and see whether they have or W8 drivers list. Don't forget the older laptop after 2012, the chances of HP with W8 drivers will be slim to none since they do not include support for older hardware.

  • Upgrade Windows 7 Home Premium with the Professional Windows 7 upgrade software?

I got a deal to get the Windows 7 Professional Upgrade for $ 100, thought that I get it.  Only now I realize that I had Vista Home Premium on my laptop, and so impossible to move to Windows 7 Pro.  I went out and bought the Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade today for another $ 100 to upgrade.

Basically, can I use this software to upgrade Windows 7 Professional upgrade the copy of Windows 7 family upgrade that I just bought. If I can do:

    Windows Vista Edition Home Premium< windows="" 7="" home="" premium="" upgrade="">< windows="" 7="" professional="">

I hope I explained this correctly.  I don't want to really not get stuck with a copy of Windows 7 Pro upgrade software that I can't do anything with.  Any help would be incredibly useful.

If the license for Windows 7 Professional, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Edition Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, follow the on-screen Wizard, enter the key to Windows 7 Professional on demand, click on, and then restart your computer when you are prompted. Less than 10 minutes, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional and your files and settings retained. Andre Da Costa http://adacosta.spaces.live.com http://www.activewin.com

    Hello

  • HP Pavilion dv7-4150er upgrade complete. Issue of processor and HARD drive

Hello. Sorry for my English. I'm from the Ukraine.

I want to improve my HP Pavilion dv7-4150er and I need advice from experienced people.

    Now, I have:

    -8 GB of RAM (2 x 4 GB),

-1 TB of HDD (5400 RPM)

-stock video (Mobility Radeon hd 5650 graphics card) card overclocked to 700 MHz GPU and 950 MHz Vram.

-CPU (mobile Quad Core Intel Core i7-720QM, 1716 MHz) in stock

    -BIOS F.29

    2 problems:

    -Slow CPU

    -Slow HARD drive

I want to buy a few HARD drives SSD for Windows and secondary soft and left for the data.

Get an increase in the performance of the system?

On the 'Intel' site, I read that my

    Intel® HM55 Express Chipset Mobile

is compatible with the more powerful processors. LINK

    And I have a great opportunity to buy Intel® Core™ i7-940XM processor Extreme Edition (8 M Cache, 2.13 GHz)

    But the laptop manual says:

720QM and 940xm - identical processors. The difference in 'MAX TDP' 45w/55w, 'Cache' 6 mb / 8 mb and clock speed 1.6 GHz/2.13 GHz

The Intel® Core™ i7-940XM processor Extreme Edition (8 M Cache, 2.13) will work properly in my laptop?

    or not?

I have read many articles on this topic, but the answer is not...

And I can't find information on HP F.29 BIOS specification.

How can I increase a CPU nested way (with another compatible processor) perfomance if 940xm is not compatible?

    Help me please.

    Thank you for your time.

Hello nickiblackmore.  I understand that you are curious about the upgrade of your laptop.

Here is a link to Guide of Service and Maintenance of your laptop.  It covers the disassembly of the laptop and can also show you how to replace parts if you upgrade the.

If you switch to a Solid State Drive of a standard 5400 or 7200 RPM hard drive, you should see a significant performance increase.  This is because a normal hard drive spinning platters and it takes time to locate data on the trays as they are moving.  A Solid State Drive has no moving parts and therefor can locate data much more quickly.

A CPU upgrade is a much more difficult question.  HP does not recommend that you perform this type of upgrade.  Laptops are generally designed with specific thermal and electrical needs.  If you change the CPU, it will probably create more heat and use a higher power that will cause you problems.  However, if you stick to a processor that is listed in the service (for example in your picture) Guide, you should be fine.  For example, you can choose one of the microprocessors found in the image to upgrade your laptop.  Also, keep in mind that the integral part upgrade as a CPU can affect your warranty (check your warranty here).

If you think that answers your question be sure to mark the post as solved.  This makes it easier for others to find answers to their questions.

    Have a great day!

  • Dv6-1308EL: Pavilion DV6-1308EL - upgrade Windows 10

Hello all, as I wrote in the topic I like upgrade to Windows 10.

I got the notification about the free upgrade, but I'm corcerned on drivers and compatibility in general.

Some time ago I tried to install it and try it for 30 days Windows 8.1. I installed the drivers from windows update in regards to the trackpad driver that the operating system will freeze and restart continuously making it impossible to use.

My laptop is a Pavilion DV6-1308EL with Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit).

I also tried to call the customer service, but the one thing they tell me, is to wait a while to see if will be released drivers.

I hope that someone has tried to upgrade and can share his experience or if someone from HP can I update level or no advice and tell me if the drivers will never be released.

    Hi, Lorenza:

It is a peer to peer forum.

The volunteers here at HP person is allowed to respond to all positions on behalf of the company.

I can assure you that HP will not release the drivers W10 for this series of models.

I can make that statement because they do not have all the drivers to W8 or 8.1, so that they free to W10, logical.

If you have tested W8.1 on your laptop and it did not work properly, it will be the same or worse with W10.

You can uninstall the driver for the touchpad that installs windows 8.1 and use taking in charge of your laptop and driver page.

Ignore the touchpad Windows 8.1 update by unchecking it and hide.
