HP pavilion 15-n248sa: a media computer driver needs is missing on 8.1

"Sorry I have European account.

Hello I have a problem, I used before archlinux now I want to reinstall agaion windows 8 in my 'Hp Pavilion 15-n248sa' hp, and I have problem during the installation I get an error

"

A media computer driver needs is missing. It could be a driver DVD, USB or HDD. If you have a CD, DVD or USB flash drive with the driver on this subject, please insert it now.

Note: If the installation media of Windows in the DVD or on a USB drive, you can remove this step. »

I look at the google and I found that I have to change usb 3.0, USB 2.0, but I don't have this option in bios...

Also, I tried to load sata but it seems that the sata is not going... I will be very greatfull for help.

Sorry, that didn't work.

Are you sure have installation media good?

Normally, you get this error when the installation file is not complete or corrupt.

The driver ahci for the Pentium N processor does not exist.

You can try the one I've attached below which I derived from the chipset driver, but I think Miss me the part of it.

However, it was what he was in for this chipset chipset driver file.

I tried to reinstall my windows 64-bit, but I still get the message of a driver needs media, your computer is missing. I tried to install different isos, tried to boot from usb and dvd and also I tried to download all the drivers and put them all together on USB for charging on the installation via the button in the browser. Nothing works. ):

    Hello:

Have you tried using USB recovery? If not, I'll try that first.

My only suggestion would be to try to re-download the ISO through MSDN account & make a bootable USB, maybe the ISO precedent has been altered somehow. I don't know if they are still working in OEM machines, regardless of the way in which download you it from.

It should work because it is a model with the same chipset that your model has.

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

According to the page of the product HP for your PC, it came not with preinstalled Win10.  THIS means that you have done the upgrade to Win10.

While Microsoft says there is no risk in the upgrade of Win10, because they allow you to believe that you can always return to your BONES and the original installation program within 30 days, the ugly fact of the matter is that the Win10 GoBack feature turned out to be unreliable - and when she fails, she can let machines in a State corrupted - that does not always happen , but it happens often enough to be a problem and you will get no warning beforehand that he goes to the trash your PC!

If this is not enough, the Win10 upgrade is known, in some cases, corrupt partition recovery stored by the OEM that built the original machine. It's pretty much guarantee that no HP recovery will work.

The problem you mentioned is usually due to one of two basic problems:
    (1) defective hard drive
    (2) damaged/missing bootloader files

As to the first, please follow the instructions in this link to test your hard drive: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00439024

If that confirms that your drive has failed, then you will need to replace it.  Please report back if this is the case.

As for the second, you need access to a PC for this phase of work in order to create the necessary support to fix your PC boot loader.

Once you have that, please download and create the Win10 installation media from this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10

Note that when you download and build install media, the default tool corresponding to what is already installed on your PC (as in home for the House, and 64-bit to 64 - bit).  While you CAN change these settings, are NOT. If you do, the media that results will be different and will force you to enter a NEW product code.

Boot from the media that you have created and follow the instructions in this link: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2294-advanced-startup-options-boot-windows-10-a.html

You will need to go to the Advanced Options screen and click on startup repair.  You will probably need to run Startup Repair three times for him to fix all the boot loader.

Once completed, your PC should start OK.

    Good luck

    What is my problem?

Whenever you get an error message with 24 characters alphanumeric numbers indicating that the hard drive needs to be replaced to solve the problem

Could be due to the Application or a driver conflict, virus issues, corruptions of files due to incompatible applications, improper stops, update failures due to conflicts, mounted sudden power sudden, so portable falls etc...

HP will offer a replacement HDD if the laptop warranty is Active, otherwise you can buy a SATA hard drive in a nearby retail store

Please make sure that you get at least equal as long as the original one in order to use recovery disks. If you need you can buy a bigger, but not smaller hard drive capacity. For example, if you have a 500 GB hard drive you can improve it to 750 GB hard drive, but not 320 GB hard drive

Please try the troubleshooting below indicated once the steps:
Step 01. Remove the battery and unplug the power adapter AC.
Step 02. Press and hold the power button for more than 30 seconds
Step 03. Plug the AC power adapter / (leave the battery for now)
Step 04. Press the power button and check if the unit is operating normally

If the steps listed above is not enough, then you can try reinstalling the hard disk on your laptop

If the problem persists again please contact HP if your HP laptop is under warranty, HP could replace the hard drive and provide recovery media to restore the operating system to factory after the replacement (if you have not yet created recovery disks/USB support)

Note: Back up all personal data on an external drive if possible. Otherwise, you can connect the HDD defective via SATA Adapter USB with another PC or a PC even after replacing the HARD drive & put in place of the operating system and try to copy / retrieve files.

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

If the system or Mode restore safe work not and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  • Pavilion zv5000 - IDE adapter for HARD drive?

I have a Pavilion zv5000 series portable whose hard drive died several years ago. My father sent him to a work friend, who understood that it was the HARD drive, and I guess that he threw the car with an adapter with it. I got an IDE drive, foolishly, assuming that the pins on the drive just fit into the connector on the laptop itself. After a lot of confusion as to why the player wouldn't be good, a research showed a card equipped with a regular at one end IDE connector and a connector similar to that on the laptop on the other. I ask if it is true that I need one, even if I do not otherwise so that it connects.

Also, nines are isolated from the main pins on the drive. The old connector Molex had also four pins. These are the power pins, and the adapter address these too? It doesn't seem to be any other connector on the laptop. Once again, I want to just confirm this and no I have to not just buy the wrong thing for this laptop.

Therefore the adapter that I'm looking for?

Yes, I used to own a zv5000 and I can confirm there was a plastic connector black who went on the IDE brass pins on the hard drive to allow the connection to the motherboard.

    This is what you need:
