DM4-1201us wifi card needs to be replaced, I want to replace is a card dual band.  Any help would be great, windows 7, 64-bit, intel i5, card is the n1000 intel.

Thank you in advance.

It is the official reference number of HP

4096 MB 599092-001

Search by part number on amazon.com and you get this:

The KVR is high density (4 blocks on one side) and above is of low density (8 blocks on one side) and HPs tend to like low density memory.

  • Pavilion 15-N064NR: update of wifi card and memory

Hello, I have problems with my wifi, just disconnects all the time, that I can install and new and faster wifi card, and I can add more memory to this laptop thank you Mike

Yes, you can switch the two quite easily. Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

You have 6 GB of memory which is a 2 gig and a 4 GB module. Your best return for the dollar will come to launch the 2 gig module and install a second 4 GB like the original module. This will give more memory and also run faster since it is dual channel. You could install up to 16 GB (2 x 8), but it would cost a lot more and provide many additional benefits. See p. 47 of the manual for instructions.

Your model has no HP whitelist and you can install any wifi card that is the right form factor.  See p. 49. It's a low-profile mini-pcie form factor. The original wifi offered thereon cards are little lame. It's one of the better ones:

  • HP Pavilion 15 N: bought AC wifi card, getting only B/G/N signals

Hello! I recently updated my router, and now it supports 5 GHz signals.  I wanted to use this signal to my laptop, so I bought a card a/ac wifi (dual-band). No luck. Later, I found another a friend. No luck again. After 4 cards I still can't signal of 5 GHz of my laptop. I tried to update all the drivers, and yet, I see only 2.4 ghz signals. In the specifications, all say they have 5 GHz compatibility... is there a known issue on this laptop?

    Hello:

All the cards you listed are single band Wireless N cards.

The RTL8191SE is an old map.

    http://www.Realtek.com.tw/products/productsView.aspx?langid=1&PFID=48&level=5&Conn=4&ProdID=226

The BCM94313 is a single band N Wireless with bluetooth.

And Yes, Intel BN 7620HMW is a single band N Wireless with bluetooth.

Note that if your laptop does not have an Intel processor and chipset, normally Intel adapters will not work in them.

Also need two available antenna cables to connect to a dual band card.

Some of these HP laptops that come stock with a card single band have only a single antenna lead in the compartment wireless.

Change wireless laptop computers HP cards before 2014 can be a nightmare.

There is a BIOS whitelist, which prevents any wireless card not shown is not in the service manual for the work PC.

The PC does not even start until the wlan unsupported card is removed.

The next problem is that some of the numbers part contained in the maintenance manual is incorrect.

For example, the Intel 6230 registered has the wrong part # and no one knows which is the right one (or if the 6230 is even supported).

What I would do if I were you, would be to find an opportunity but tested and functional wlan on eBay card.

Query by part number and to control the image in the list to be sure see you the part number indicated on the white sticker entitled 'Replace with HP Spare'.

I see the Broadcom card I've referenced past as low as $4.35 + postage from Hong Kong.

They are a bit more expensive if you want one that is located in the USA.

    Hello

Thousands of questions and answers are on this forum and the answer is simple for laptops, it is very difficult if not impossible to update the video cards (except some models). In this case, the answer is no, you need new card mother, new system of cooling... and the cost can be more expensive to purchase a new machine.

    Kind regards.

  • Need help with problems upgrade memory on Pavilion DM4

    I have a Pavilion DM4 1201us with original DDR3 2x2gb memory cards.

I bought a pair of Corsair DDR3 1333 Mhz 4 GB memory cards.

I have the latest BIOS (F.27) and I'm running the OEM Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - Bit. SP1.

The BIOS recognizes the 8 Gb and when I run the BIOS memory test it runs without error.

When I try to boot Win7, it gets somewhere before the logon screen and makes a BSOD with a message about a new memory being installed.

I went back the Corsair Memory cards, but you need to know if there is a problem with any upgrade up to 8 GB of memory with my particular setup. HP offers an upgrade to 8 GB with the same spec boards. (I'm beyond the warranty period!)

    Any thoughtts?

    Interesting!

I can tell you that the model only supports 8 GB memory: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02704310

Have you tried more than one kit of 8 GB?

The reason why I ask is with memory DDR sometimes reticular sticks will pass all the tests if the two sticks are installed then a stick could be bad without you knowledge.

Also you tried a bar of 4 GB and a 2 GB stick to see how it worked?

    Hello @PedroAAndrade,

That's right, that's why I posted the link to a service guide for the laptop. The map is mentioned in this manual, so no BIOS modding is needed. There are 2 compatible adapters, but Intel is better than Broadcom...
