HP Pavilion dv5 1232TX - Vista to XP SP2 Downgrade

Hello

I plan keep Windows Vista as operating system main oringally, but I realized that how was unstable. Not to mention the virus is past my anti-virus scanner. I did a lot of research on getting the XP drivers for this particular model. I slipstreamed a XP disc and I currently have the drivers work for:

  • Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN
  • Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture Bus Driver
  • IDT High Definition Audio Bus
  • nVidia High Definition
  • Agere Systems HDA Modem

The drivers I can't find are the following:

  • Realtek RTL8168C NIC - (Ethernet Controller)
  • Base system device?
  • SM Bus controller?
  • Acquisition of ICP data and Signal Processing controller?
  • GeForce 9200M GS - (video controller) - downloading and testing

If someone could point me in the right direction on these aspects, I will be able to post/edit this thread to give direct links and the appropriate information for the same model if anyone happens to need.

Thank you

Hello

Decommissioning of this model is not always easy, and your model is designed to work well with Vista. Please check first that link written by Joshua Wood and concentrate on problems that may appear when you install the sound card in it. I don't know then it's dv5 guide, but a lot of hardware and drivers are the same for both models.

It is recommended to test all drivers first, and after that when you figure out what will work for include you drivers for the future, or simply make a backup of this system.

Before going down do Vista backup. Here you have all the information, how do.

You have a folder with the drivers & programs that can prove very useful after downgrade XP. Copy the folder in C:\Swsetup on DVD Before you format your hard drive.

Update Your Bios to the latest version from here.

How to do?

You plug the adapter to the computer.

Disconnect from the internet. Turn off any antivirus and firewalls.

Start the update of the Bios. It may take some time. Do not turn off your laptop, unplug ac and don't do anything on this subject during this update is running.

Remember, also, that you use the Windows XP SP2 version. If you have not got the version SP2 here you can download this service pack

and here you guide how to integrate this file with your new system of nLite.

In this program, you can even burn your new XP cd with this driver.

I think you know how to integrate the Sata drivers so I won't write about it.

Drivers:

Intel chipset (Install and reboot before other drivers) here

Intel Matrix Storage Manager here

MS-UAA for SP2 (required with a reboot before the graphics and Audio, Modem driver) here

MS-UAA for SP3 (required with a reboot before the graphics and Audio, Modem driver) here

NVIDIA GeForce 9200 M GS graphics

Use modded worm 185.85 Nvidia drivers.

How to install under XP:
1. Download driver here, double click and select Extract.
2. download modded INF here and replace the original INF in extracted folder.
3. install & restart.

Intel Wireless 5100 here

Please check first that link written by Joshua Wood and concentrate on problems that may appear when you install the sound card in it. I don't know then it's dv5 guide, but a lot of hardware and drivers are the same for both models.

1 sp41698, vista, work reported in here XP driver

2 sp41693, pilot, work reported in XP here view

3 SP39671, driver, jobs reported in XP here or here view

4. find your audio driver Vista on this DVD where you burned C:\Swsetup folder. It can also work under XP.

When you install a sound driver with checking the success is your sound work.

If there is no sound after reboot check this thread. There is information how to fix this problem.

High-Definition Audio (HDA) Modem Installer and driver here

.NET framework (required before HP Quick Lunch Buttons) here

HP Quick Launch buttons here

Realtek RTL8168C Family PCI - E Fast Ethernet NIC here

Synaptic Touchpad here S

JMB38X card reader Host Controller Driver here

CyberLink YouCam here

If you had for 7 unknown devices (buttons drivers), here (new link)

Do a manual installation

Go to Device Manager, right click on the unknown device,

Choose update driver, not to communicate.

Choose the install from a list or a specific location, not search, have-disk,

Navigate to the location of machine.inf.

Do it for the rest of the unknown devices.

  • Pavilion dv5 drivers for own x 64 Vista install?

I intend to do a clean installation of 64-bit Vista on my HP Pavilion dv5 laptop.  I entered the product number on the driver download page and was sent to the list of driver below:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?OS=2100&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3744203

That's a lot of drivers!  Those who are the base drivers, I need?  The purpose of this new facility is to annihilate all HP software and unnecessary programs further.

In addition, with my HP Slimline desktop computer, there a chipset driver that I need to first install.  Is there a equivalent to a chipset for the computer driver dv5 laptop?  I don't seem to see it on this list.

    Thank you!

I believe that the chipset is included in the ATI Mobility driver, install first. With respect to the Atheros and Broadcom, check your device manager to see what card you have before clean install of Vista.

So does the card reader, who wouldn't you have listed in D.M._Realtek or JMicron? You have a TV Tuner... If it is not necessary to install the driver.

As to the validity and Persona_one is the driver and the other is the software to configure (if you have the device of fingerprints in option).

  • How can I fix lines horizontal randomly and glitter for the LCD screens for HP Pavilion dv5 Vista?

How can I correct random lines horizontal and glitter for the LCD screens for windows vista HP Pavilion dv5? Only, it happens randomly and can get all a few minutes at a time every few hours. The entire screen white and black and horizontal lines will appear during the flickering on the half top of the screen only. Nothing else changes. My sound is immutable, and none of my screens change the size or location. However, they may appear up and down during the flashing. Can someone give me an idea of what is wrong? I looked on Google for possible corrections, but most of them seem to be for refresh rate and I don't have a notch for this and can't change it according to the steps they offer.

Read my initial response on what it takes to please.

    "See if this helps you:

These lines indicate corruption graphics driver or lack of graphic material.

Go to the HP Web site > Search a drivers and download article > search your laptop model number > your operating system > drivers for it: either video / graphic / Chipset (according to the wording it) > download and install the drivers.

    http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/support-drivers.html

If that fixed it, it seems to me be a problem of graphic material.

  • Cannot install any os in a hp pavilion dv5 - 1120ev

Hi, my friend has an hp pavilion dv5 - 1120ev, he had top, pre installed windows vista. He asked me that if I could make the computer faster, so I told him, of course, you need to change OS to do this, you must install windows 7, I said. So I took with me, put windows 7 dvd, boot from the cd/dvd drive, deleted all partitions, even the recovery partition (I didn't know it came without a copy of disk recovery tools), partitioned the drive into 2 two new partitions, formatted and continued to install the os on the primary. The dvd that I used has all versions of windows 7, 32 and 64 bit, tried all, it gets stuck on the process of expansion, to 0% files (only with one version, she was 14%, I can't remember which), and it gives me the "windows cannot install required files. the file may be corrupted or missing. "Sure... error code: 0 x 80070017. Then, I tried with another dvd with winodws 7 ultimate, same thing. I also tried with the disc do not split into two, one partition, just in case windows is having problems expanding all of the files, just in case, same thing. Then I thought it was a bios thing, he had to be updated, which to be honest there cause of the version it is F.0C, and in the support section of the hp site, I found a newer version of it, which is also described as necessary for the latest operating system upgrade. I thought wow, that's it, I found it, I will upload a version of it bootable, version bootable cd to be precise, cause the bios version there back does not support booting from usb devices, I'll update it and install the operating system. NOPE. The site has an exe of the bios version. I tried to make a disk bootable with the bios in there (with the option of nero boot disc), I guess that I've not done it right, it could be a solution, but I could use some help on this. I also tried to install windows xp, so that I can install it the update of the bios, the same thing, I get the same error, only with the old blue sceen scholl. Finally, I tried to install windows vista Home premium, just in case the bios for a reason any has only accepted this operating system, no way, same error again! So now I'm not stuck wth no operating system, a pc unusable, nothing can be installed on it. I asked my friend that if the cd/dvd drive had some kind of problem, he said, had no problem with game discs, their loading and installation of games. Please HELP I don't know what to do! Thank you

Nevermind, I managed to solve the problem by taking the hard drive, put it in another phone and the windows installation, then put it back. It worked like charm, so the problem is 100% on the DVD player.

    Thank you

Thank you very much, the problem has been resolved.

The Solution: Run Windows Update and everything will be solved, actually it was an error inherenet on vista (Micrososft ISATAP adapter) so it might conflict with the Bluetooth device, and once the update is installed, all return to it's origin.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp41501-42000/SP41698.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver from the link below.

    Chipset Driver - Windows Vista.

After reinstalling, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

    Kind regards
