HP Pavilion DV6-6169se: the HP Pavilion DV6-6169se upgrade

Hello

I have HP Pavilion DV6-6169se, and I'm looking to update.

Can I know what is the available upgrade options?

Thank you.

Hello

Since the following specifications:

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02866520

My suggestions (using this order):

1. RAM: you can go to 8 GB, this will improve a bit.  Please use the following site to scan your machine. It will tell you exactly what you need and where to buy, or you can also use the information to buy elsewhere:

http://www.crucial.com/USA/en/systemscanner

2 replace the HDD with a SSD: you can see many improvements during startup, downtime, open applications and save files. If you run applications that require a lot of Scriptures, SDD is much faster than the HARD disk.

3 CPU: upgrade CPU on laptops is a delicate issue. Please check the list before I go buy. The first manual on the following list a unelistede CPU is supported:

http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us & LC = in & Product = 5116493

Good luck.

(game video and moderate flow)  Yes, the latest video cards do not for UEFI were the GTX 660/670.  I suggest that you pick a card mamufacturer and contact their Technical Support for assistance.  MSI has a GTX 750Ti which is equipped with a switch so that it can be used with a Legacy BIOS.  You can check with them to see if will work with your motherboard.

  • HP Pavilion & "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor came across a problem.

Windows 7 would work on my laptop (HP Pavilion dv6132eu)?

So I used "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor" of the Microsofts. Which caused the error "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor stumbled into a problem that your scanning devices. Upgrade Advisor needs to be able to scan your devices to determine whether your computer is capable of running Windows 7 ".

The laptop is probably not good enough for Windows 7, why?

I assumed, the Upgrade Advisor would tell me, what pieces of hardware is / are not specific to Windows 7.

In a forum Technet, say, the Adviser is blocked by some HP hardware. Which?

    Best regards, Willem

    My problem has been resolved.

Previously, the problem with "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor BETA.

I waited two months - now, I executed the Adviser again, resulting in "an important upgrade".

And guess: update Advisor works like a rocket, finishing with a nice report with minor problems.

So I think that the problem was a "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor" - problem - not a HP computer laptop-problem.

  • HP Pavilion 23-b026in: upgrade Windows 10

I had upgraded my HP Pavilion 23-b026in to Win 8.1 to win 10 2 months ago.

Everything worked perfectly for about 3 weeks.

But 3 weeks after the upgrade, the PC wouldn't start (black screen).

The motherboard has been changed by a HP technician under warranty.

The PC was then downgraded to Win 8 by the attending technician.

He said that I did not upgrade to Win 10 & the failure of the motherboard was cause of upgrade to Win 10 (driver incompatible).

According to me, it was just a coincidence that the motherboard has not 3 weeks after the upgrade.

Could someone Pl. advise if above is true?

At any fact an upgrade of this office while a PC (HP Pavilion 23-b026in)?

    Thank you

Reported motherboards being damaged as a result of the Win10 upgrade - but all the ones I saw were really old, entry level Win7 machines, which NEVER should have been upgraded, and they ran so hot under Win10 that heat damaged chips on the motherboard.

A Win8.1 machine will be a lot of new material and is unlikely to cause problems of material of an Win10 upgrade.

As for drivers, HP technology was right regarding there is not Win10 driver for your device, but the drivers are software (and in some cases, firmware) and the MOST that would happen of incompatible drivers, it's that some functions of the machine would not work right - as the brightness doesn't work do not , or bluetooth not working not not or the WiFi doesn't work do not, etc..

Most likely, what happened in YOUR case, is due to the insistence of MS that, in Win10, customers have NO CHOICE about what updates are applied, including the pilots, and when those are applied.  Win10 forums are full of messages from people like you which machines worked fine, for a while and then suddenly quit working properly - entirely due to Win1'0 replacing a working driver by an update of pilot who did NOT.

Which has fixed SOME of these situations is to disable the Win10 driver updates. It is not easy to do (as MS does NOT want to do you) this list is possible.  In cases where this has worked, the people and found an older driver, who (to get their working device) installed then disabled, updates.

  • Pavilion G7 1250sa: upgrade CPU HP Pavilion G7

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion G7 1250sa, and I am wanting to upgrade the processor.

Product code for my laptop is: QH586EA #ABU

The current CPU is a Pentium B950 (low-end).

I checked the manual (here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03538328.pdf) and I am wanting to move to a processor Intel Core i5 - 2540 M 2.60 GHz, which is one of the options shown in the manual for this laptop.

What I want to know is:

    • Are all the processors Intel Core i5 - 2540 M 2.60 GHz the same? I have a home but you don't want to end up with a processor for the wrong socket type or something else.
    • Y at - he of the prerequisites that must be done prior to upgrading the processor? I have upgrade recent BIOS such as recommended somewhere else, but can't find any other information on the other than simply swapping upgrade process.

    Thank you very much

    Ben

    Hello

Firstly all "all processors Intel Core i5 - 2540 M 2.60 GHz" are the same, and secondly, it is safe to install on your machine i5 - 2540M, because:

    (a) you BIOS is up to date,

    (b) old CPU and new CPU are on the same "boat" as shown in the following table:

    http://www.CPU-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/Pentium_Dual-Core_Mobile/B950.html

    Kind regards.

  • Pavilion 550 - 102A: upgrade CPU 550-102 a Pavilion

My Pavilion 550-102 a short grunt - processor AMD A4-7300 is not manage anything beyond email from basis it seems.

The official page of the HP product for my system lists the following quad core processor upgrade options: A10-8850, A10-8750, A8-8650, A10-7800, A8-7600.

I'm looking for some advice on the eligibility of the aforementioned processors, or any other person who can be better and fit the socket FM2 + available?

Also, having never done a front CPU upgrade, it is attacking physically straight as a memory upgrade?

    Thank you.

Thank you for the information, @pgking.  Don't worry the delay.  I'm here every day.

There is an update of the BIOS here.  It is the 6th in the list for the SSID 2 B 52.  If you do the update, be extremely careful to follow the instructions.  A failed BIOS update will make a good boat anchor.  HP makes reconmmend update, however.  Normally, if a processor is recommended in the specification, this will work without changing the BIOS.

Now, a Quad core will make the difference in performance.  Even with the slower speed, it should give better performance.  More carrots for best performance for multitasking, etc..  In addition, an upgrade of memory will add considerable performance.  Another element that I always install is an SSD.  This will make a dirrerence in startup speed.  I don't have another computer without a boot SSD.  The difference is phenomenal.

  • HP Pavilion p7-1020: upgrade to USB 3.0 (P7-1020)

    Hello!

I've had my p7-1020 for several years now and I'm very happy with it. However, it has currently only USB 2.0 ports and I would really like to install some ports USB 3.0 for increased efficiency. I have previously updated the video card in my PC so I'm uncomfortable, go inside the Tower, but I need help with the technical aspects of this upgrade.

First, I wonder if it is possible to add a USB 3.0 port on this computer (as in, do I have enough / correct type of PCI, power connectors, etc.)  I want to know if there is any special consideration I should do when choosing a piece of hardware.

Second, if it is possible, what is the effectiveness of this new material would be? I read on some other sites that have even thought that it would be possible to add hardware USB 3.0 for older machines, other limitations of the system could stop him to be very beneficial. Could this be true in this case?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

HP sells a USB 3.0 PCI-E x 1 card.  I used this USB card in three different PC and it works pretty well.

  • HP Pavilion G6 2211nr: upgrade CPU?

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

The answer is Yes to all of your questions. The processor (APU) can be upgraded to an AMD A10, 8 GB RAM and the hard drive could be upgraded to an SSD. The SSD and memory are very easy to make and are allowed for the end user. The processor is much more difficult, even if it's doable if you follow the manual. Currently, you have an AMD A4 processor so the upgrade to a 10 would be a very significant improvement and would also make the video more strong for games, but not yet in the class of a gaming laptop.

AMD processors are much cheaper than Intel and I normally warn of the laptop CPU upgrades, but assuming that you have the skills to move to 8 GB of RAM and SSD and A10 processor could do for a cheap price (assuming you can do the work yourself or you can get it done free) and would like to buy a new laptop.

    If you need assistance.

  • Pavilion dv4-1140go upgrade video card

Hi, I am looking to get my laptop to Skyrim-ability. Vista 64-bit, 4 GB of memory and Intel's integrated graphics. I did some research and it seems that the only way to get a better card for my laptop would be to replace the motherboard. Is a motherboard / alternative exists? An external GPU is probably out of the question, I don't think that my laptop has the ports for him.

    Thank you!

    Hello:

    You are right.

In order to update the video in your portable computer, the motherboard set must be toggled, and the best graphics solution available for your laptop is the Board of Directors with the nVidia GeForce 9200 M GS

(NB9M-GE-S) with 512 MB of video memory dedicated.

See the manual at the link below, Chapter 3, page 22. The part number for the motherboard, you can upgrade is 496730-001.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01597750.PDF

The Council alone put you back $470,25.

For me, the attendant costs for such upgrading are excessive and you would be better off listing where sell your laptop for one with graphics solution you want.

First of all what is the best easiest way to upgrade memory (micro sd card)? If so can what bits of information I keep on it?

Your only option for adding storage is with the SD card reader, which is actually a very good option. Get a fast SD card high capacity

That stick to the machine and shaped into a literate player. Then you can go and change the location of Documents, images, video files in Windows 10.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/redirect-folder-new-location#1TC=Windows-7

Above is Windows 7 but Windows 10 still works the same. Move the files to the SD card, together is the default download location for the browser, etc.

Ask in terms of memory, but you mean that storage. The RAM (sharp) of 2 GB is not extensible. It is an Atom processor but the next generation and it is 64-bit. The Windows installed 10 will be a version 10 of Windows 64-bit edition, not some watered down Michael tablet thing. It can run Office 2016 and if she is a student of her school could have an agreement on this subject, or you can look in the student Office 365, version which is I think that $6 per month or $80 all the in.
