Not only 8 GB is the limit is that the list of repair.

And not the video card is soldered to the card. The higher has only 1 GB of video and which requires an exchange of Board of Directors and that could be a costly upgrade. If you plan to play GTA V then you need to get a gaming laptop that meets these requirements.

  • Pavilion dv7-1285dx option upgrade RAM / dual channel question

Hello.  I had a few questions on my laptop dv7-1285dx I bought last January.  I explore the idea of upgrading the RAM, and I went on the site crucial and pulled these specs.

It says that my system has 8 GB of memory dual channel max capacity, but from what I read here on these forums double channel really only works when you have 2 identical modules in each slot, right?  Well, my system came at HP with 1 x 4 GB and 1 x 2 GB installed modules standard package.  (I'm running Vista x 64).

So, if this is the case, this does mean that I'm not running in double track right now and my computer is a drop in performance right out of the factory?

Another question I have is my stick of memory from Samsung.  Would I be hurt me if I bought just a stick of 4 GB of crucial and kept the other stick of 4 GB of Samsung and used these two together?  Or is it better to use two Samsung or two Crucial sticks identical?  The sticks have to come from the same kit for best performance?   (IE - in the case of the Samsung, I would of course order a single module if I went this route and kept the original I have now).

If I increase the RAM, is there anything else I need to do in the BIOS to enable function dual channel (if I don't have it right now) other that physically install the sticks?

    Thank you very much.

Molvitz has clarified a bit. For memory dual channel sticks must first be the same size (2 x 2 GB or 2 x 4 GB for example) and they must be the same speed and latency times. If you shuffle the cards to Flash the same size you will probably but not certainly have dual channel operation. If you put two identical poles, you are also sure that it is possible to be that they will work in dual channel mode. I have not tried to set up a laptop with 2 x 4 gig of RAM sticks and I believe that there could be problems with channel double use, as mentioned, because this product (4 gig laptop RAM sticks) is so new. I can speak from experience wide enough that what I say above applies to 2 x 1 gig and 2 x 2 GB.

  • Pavilion 15-ak112nl: ssd upgrade ram and m.2 15-ak112nl

Hi, before I have to buy my new laptop (Hp Pavilion 15-ak112nl), I want to be sure I can safetly increase my ram and add an ssd m2 without losing my warranty.

I found this in other discussions:

"Opening at the back of the laptop is not technically end user, but it is not really difficult. HP most likely does not cancel the guarantee as long as it's done without causing damage. »

So, anyone with hp staff can confirm that this information is correct?

Hello, my laptop (pavilion dv6 1255-EA portable entertainment I bought 6 years with core 2 due processor, 4 GB ram, 500 GB HDD and AMD catalyst HD 1 GB graphics card) is running a bit slow so I however get a new ssd and / or more than ram would make it faster, I currently have 4 GB of ram and 500 GB hard drive installed in my laptop and I was woundering what are those that I can? Are crucial bullsticks 8 GB of ram and 7 with 9 in ssd adapter compatible? I need an answer as soon as possible because I saw some discounts on these on amazon so that I won't have to wait for black Friday to get them again. And it would also be good if someone also indicates what screwdriver I use.

    Hey @Ajijawi,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I came across your post on the HP Pavilion dv6 - 1255ee Entertainment Notebook and eager to replace the hard drive of 9.5 mm or increase the RAM. Even if it could adapt to the Notebook ok. Queues screws could be different. Here is a link to your service manual page 69 for the hard card. I would really check this before buying new HARD drive. You may need to change so it does not move. The 500 GB SATA 6 GB/s SSD internal SSD 2.5 "would work for this model of laptop including that you have an AMD System.

This laptop supports up to 8 GB memory system DDR2, 800 MHz, PC2-6400, page 1-DIMM 32 of the manual above.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • Problems with HP laptop Pavilion dv7-5004tx with the sound and video is this laptop being recalled?

    Hello I desperately need help.

I have a laptop HP Pavilion dv7-5004tx, which is about a month.

It's a really highy specced machine, 8 GB mem 1 GB card video etc.

The problem is that when it video or audio playe he stutter along. I sent to hp about this problem and they do not come back to me? It is currently running windows 7 64 bit home edition.

The model number does not exist when I search the site of HP?

I noticed on some laptop computer review sites that it was be recalled, but it was the only information I could get. No specefics.

I would really appreciate help from anyone out there? It seems as if HP tries to hidden it? There is no information about this laptop on any one of these sites (that I could find) and model number doesent exist on their site either.

I think I have found a solution to my stuttering audio and video playback. I disabled the HP 3d drivegaurd software and so far it seems fine. After a search in any of the HP forums support I discovered a number of people have had similar problems with various portable computers HP.

The solution seems to be to disable the car care software? HP aware of this and they do nothing to solve the problems with the drivegaurd software?

    Damascus2, welcome to the forum.

Here is the data on your computer.  If you look at Page 2 of the section of extension bays it shows 2-internal - 3.5 "(un disponible)."  This is where the second hard disk can be installed.  In addition, you will need data cable and SATA power.

The motherboard has a PCI Express x 16 slot.  However, the power supply unit (PSU) is only 180W.  It will not feed the 9500GT.

Much better now. The following link shows the specifications of your machine:

It's a HP Pavilion dv7-6010eo. Currently it has 500 GB SATA (7200 RPM), you can switch to the SSD. You can also put a second HDD of your machine, but you need to caddy and connector. Please visit the following link:

    Thank you guys

    Hello

I found information that your device can handle with max 256 MB and compatible module unit Pentium II are:
    PA2060U 32 MB
    PA2061U 64 MB
    PA2062U 128 MB

For user who have the Pentium III unit I'll also post this compatible module are:
    PC100 128 MB (PA3005U)
    PC100 64 MB (PA3004U)
    PC100 32 MB (PA3003U)

HARD drive upgrade is always a little more problematic because of the maximum capacity that will be recognized correctly, but I assume you can use up to 20 GB of HARD disk without problem.
Sorry, but I didn? t find accurate information about it.
